InDesign, interactive form (PDF) & radio button appearance problem...

I'm working on an interactive PDF using InDesignCC x 64 form, and I need to have "a selection only choice ', I use the radio button. But the customer want them look like checkboxes.

No problem: I know how to customize but... But... BUT... Appeareances custom of the option button will not appear only in Acrobat (instead, I got the default appearance of the radio button circular).

I checked build-in the option box of indesign library (from 010 to 024) and got the same result. The only way I've found is to re - edit my form with Acrobat, and then change the property in 'square' instead of circle (but still can't get my custom appeareance). But as my form contains several pages and a huge amount of people, not mentioning several upcoming release, I would prefer not having to change anything with Acrobat and stay inside Indesign.

This isn't my first form and I'm not really a newbie, but on this one, I'm totally distraught...

Hope that someone from the community will be able to help... (I got 7 of those to do 48 hours... Perfect timing )

All updates using product Adobe (x 64 / win 8.1)

Does someone have an idea from the status?

After that several tests on different computers (Mac & PC) it seems that the problem happens only on Acrobat Pro. Not on Acrobat Reader... So it will do the trick, but the Adobe team should take a look at this...

    I want to build a form with radio buttons to customers limited checking all the options. I have a range of products and to quote accurately, I want to get specific information.

    If I get this, what you want to display the shape options to specific customers, not to all the viewers of the site?

    You must create a secure area where authorized viewers can connect and view the form with all the options, form itself we can not set up since what few customers are going to see other options and others are going to see another.

    This is possible since the end of your accommodation. Or if you are using Adobe server for hosting, then you can create profiles for clients and then set up another form altogether to achieve this goal.

  • InDesign interactive cs6, pdf export

    When I export my interactive document to pdf format, the result is malfunctioning. All the roll on buttons Flash when the point of mouse cursor over it. I also have the problem with the layers. the appearance of layers is not as even as the file, so some images, go under the other heading.

    I have no problem in the preview and it works well in previews but when I export to pdf format the result is catastrophic.

    Is there anyone have same problem? Or does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

    It seems that for interactive elements, the stacking order is determined by the order in which objects are converted to the buttons. Try to remove not only stocks, but turning in objects to hide. Alternatively, convert to buttons in the oppsite order you did the first time. It's maddening, but it should work. Apparently, the order of creation of the buttons takes on real stacking order. Weird!

    And if it doesn't work, what programs do you offer?

    Greetings

    If I understand your question, I can confirm that you can produce a form with InDesign, which, in addition to the text fields and other types of fields, you can include a drop-down list box in which, for example, you can list the cities. Use the workspace in Indesign PDF interactive.

    Create the form in InDesign, export it as an interactive PDF and refine in Acrobat Pro and Reader allow so users using Acrobat Reader can store the data they enter into the fields.

  • / A vs form (checkboxes, radio buttons) fields

    I have question about the PDF/A specification and would appreciate clarification.

    The card says:

    "If an annotation dictionary contains the key to the AP, the dictionary of the appearance that it defines as its value must contain only the N key, whose value must be a stream defining the appearance of the annotation. [...] Each form field should have a dictionary of appearance associated with the field data. A compliant reader should render the field according to the dictionary of appearance without taking into account the data of the form. »

    Now, I have a document that is entirely compliant PDF/A however the preflight (8 & 9) check acrobat fails with the message that my check boxes do not contain only the key/n. However, they contain only the appearances (normal) / n.

    1.) so, what is the problem? (Can not think that this should be a bug since intarsys PDF / a validation reports also...)

    PDF1.4 Spec defines the 'normal' appearance of a checkbox like that:

    Authority < < / n < < formXObject1 /On / Off formXObject2 > > > >

    2.) or the mean spec, that it can only be an appearance inside the enty/n?

    PDF 1.4 then says:

    «The appearance of the shutdown state is optional, but if present must be stored in the dictionary of appearance under the name off the coast.»

    3.) so if I only set the State 'On' the document will become fully compliant PDF/A?

    4.) and this state of appearance (AS)? PDF 1.4 States:

    "The choice between States of appearance checked and unchecked is determined by the SA entry in the dictionary of the annotation.

    PDF/A does not mention the key of virtue, but it is vital for the boxes...? ! According to the specification a spectator has to "render the field according to the dictionary of appearance'-> but checkboxes can take two States...

    Thank you for bringing any light on this!

    / ToM

    You can have only a single stream (not a dictionary) of the value of the key/n.  Because the value will never change to a PDF/A file, you must only writes the value of the appearance of the current value of the field.

  • Required radio button in red color in a dynamic form

    Hi again

    Okey, as the title says, I have some problems with buttons radio required right now. In static fields, they have a border when they are required.

    In dynamic forms that they have, or get no border.

    I have already tried:

    (1) to make a border with script (unfortunately it takes in the text too is much smaller than the normal required border and includes the text = > really ugly)

    (2) to paint a border with lines (unfortunately the box itself straddles the border only for 0, 02 mm (could not fix) and it is pretty darn ugly )

    (3) cut the text, instead write it in a textfield and lining complete box (best solution right now... well that much work and will not look very well either)

    Given that I needed to change my dynamic forms 25 and all have some of these radio buttons necessary in it, I would be grateful ANY solution that would look a bit more acceptable.

    Someone has any idea how to get such a border (or something similar) for these boxes?

    Thanks already

    Lisa

    (PS: I only use quadratic body check)

    PPS. : Sorry to bother you in the last time that many... I really try )

    Hi Lisa,

    I hope I am understanding what you are aiming to achieve.

    The form will have the fields highlighted. Required fields have a red border.

    With respect to the option buttons, you also need a red border around the circle.

    Attached is a sample, I hope it will be helpful.

    On the left are radio buttons that have the script to the initialization, check event if radio buttons are "necessary". If they are then the appearance is replaced by a red border. If radio buttons are not necessary, the appearance remains as "lowered 3d."

    If (scripted_RadioButtonList.validate.nullTest is "error")
    {
    xfa.resolveNode("Yes.ui.checkButton.border.edge").stroke = "solid";
    xfa.resolveNode("Yes.ui.checkButton.border.edge").color.value = "255,0,0";
    }
    on the other
    {
    xfa.resolveNode("Yes.ui.checkButton.border.edge").stroke = "down";
    }

    On the right side of the form of option buttons that are defined as are required when you create the form. At this stage of the design, you can also set the appearance.

    If the script does what you want, you could develop a loop that looked at all form the radio buttons and the border red if the radio button value is "necessary".

    Good luck

  • Adobe form does not display a comments or radio buttons on mobile devices

    I created a form with radio buttons and the comment fields.  I have coaches assess students.  When the student opens the screen on a PC, they see the buttons radio, comments very well.  Unfortunately, when they open a mobile under the radio buttons and the comments disappear.  I tested it, and if you open the file in the Adobe Reader application on the mobile it works, but not in preview the message mode.  I can't ask everyone to download the adobe reader app to see the eval, so the only other workaround that I thought was to export the pdf as an image file, so that they can display it on their mobile.  Export is several files image, which of course is heavy it trying to figure out which page is next etc. and for which eval.

    1. is there a way to create a form that will display correctly in preview on a mobile?  or

    2. is there a way to export a multiple page pdf in the file of an image? or

    3. Another idea?

    Thanks in advance for your help.

    I'm not quite clear on the question of if you try to export a form or before filling. If the form is filled on the Adobe Acrobat software for iOS, you can share the file (using the share button). The application will offer to the 'flatten' the form or send the original document. If you group the shape, it needs to be flattened so that the content would be visible from other applications (including remittances), but the form is no longer to fill.

  • Entered radio button does not

    I try to have radio buttons in my HTML file panel, but for reasons unknown, they appear as lines of text instead of under form of radio buttons.

    Preview the HTML file in a browser displays the buttons without problems.

    What is the problem here?

    This has been fixed after that I did:
    Adding the type- attribute to the entry tags

    Addition of the attribute checked the entry tags (it's a Boolean, so you assign a value to it--you write just checked)

  • Radio buttons can mask other radio buttons?

    Hi, I am building an application using Adobe Livecycle and I'm a bit new to him. If you use some radio buttons to the 'yes' or 'no' questions and whatever that you select affects the following questions to be visible or hidden, but the following questions contains radio buttons. How do you get the second set of option buttons to be hidden? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

    If you are looking for a script, it is relatively easy.

    Create a group of radio buttons in the workspace (I guess in the first set, a 'yes' and 'No' response).

    Create the second group of radio buttons with other radio buttons you want to be visible depending on the selection made by the user in the first group of radio buttons. In the object palette, set property of presence during this second value 'hidden '.

    In the click event of the first radio group, add this code:

    If (this.rawValue == 1) {}

    Form1. Page1.SecondRB_Set.presence = "visible";

    }

    else {}

    Form1. Page1.SecondRB_Set.presence = 'hidden ';

    }

    In this example, I put the values for the first button (the button 'Yes' to 1, the button 'No' to 2). For example, if 'Yes' is clicked, the second group of radio buttons appears on your form.

    An example of the sample is here:

  • Insert several lines of Radio button

    I need to do multiple inserts in an Access table from a form her you choose multiple of any number of questions answers. As the fields of the form are radio buttons I can't loop through a list to process inserts. I'm struggling with the creating a loop to do inserts since each form field response boxes each has a different/unique name. Any suggestions on how to configure the loop would be appreciated. Here is a code example.

    The solution that solved the problem is the code "["Answer"& loop] #orm # I initially tried "#form." Answer ' & loop # ", but once I applied your code, the loop worked fine.
    Thanks for the help.

  • Deactivation / activation of the Radio buttons

    SELECT

    "ROWID",.

    'EMPNO ',.

    'ENAME ',.

    'STATUS ',.

    "ACCEPT."

    FROM "EMP".

    STATUS and ACCEPT two columns are type of radio button with a static query as

    STATUS: STATIC2: new; N, entitled; A, completed; D

    ACCEPT: STATIC2: accept; F, rework; R

    My requirement is

    1. When STATUS =has ' this time then ACCEPT column boxes must be activated. (I)

    2. another in('N','A') of STATUS then ACCEPT column buttons Radio must be turned off

    Note: Later I hide status column. Accept that column must be specified. Based on the value of the STATE Accept column column

    Hi Colette.

    Check your Application-> Page 1 28020. I've implemented the toggle the radio button.

    Here are the steps to accomplish the toggling the buttons in table form:

    • Added STATUS column with alias STATUSD in the form of your table.
    • Added real action "Run the Code JavaScript" in your dynamic action "updating of the form: turn radio buttons:

    Action: Run the JavaScript Code

    Fire on loading the Page: Yes

    Code:

    $('th#STATUSD').hide();
    $('td[headers="STATUSD"]').hide();
    $('td[headers="STATUSD"]').each(function() {
        var row_val = $(this).text();
        var row = $(this).closest('tr');
        if (row_val == 'N' || row_val == 'A') {
          row.find('td[headers="ACCEPT"] input[type="radio"]').attr("disabled", true);
        } else {
          row.find('td[headers="ACCEPT"] input[type="radio"]').removeAttr("disabled");
        }
    });

    Assigned items: no

  • SUM of radio button values

    Hello

    I have a simple form with radio buttons, and I would like to create a formula to extract the values of radio buttons and add them or their average. I have attached a picture of the document I'm working. Don't forget that I am a complete novice that I'm just trying to learn some new skills.

    Screen Shot 03-16-16 at 10.41 AM.PNG

    If you apply the values as the value of each field (under Properties - Options) "radio button choice" then you will be able to use the integrated calculation commands to perform these operations.

  • Affect of Session Variables for radio buttons

    Sorry if this may have been partly answered in another post, but I can't seem to find the answer.

    I have a form with radio buttons, as well as other fields of the form. If the user presses the button submit, it takes them to a processing page that has a lot of validation controls, spits out an error message to the user and displays a 'back' button to return to the previous page for corrections.

    All my text entry boxes are assigned for the field 'value' and they all have the excellent work of session variables. After the user presses the back button go, data is re-settled back in the fields. However, I can't understand how to assign a session variable to my radio buttons. Here is my code:

    < cfinput required = "Yes" message = "you must enter Y or N for calendar - work during the audit C" type = "radio" value = "YES" name = "check" > YES
    < cfinput required = "Yes" message = "you must enter Y or N for calendar - work during the C check" don't type = "radio" value = "" name = "check" > No.

    You can see that unlike the text boxes, the value field is already filled, so I'm confused as to where to add the session variable. Here's what looks like my text entry field:

    < cfinput type = "text" name = "ccheck_total" size = "8" validate = "integer" message = "The Aircraft Total field may contain the numbers." value = "#session.ccheck_total #" >

    I'm pretty sure that I will need a statement < cfif > on my processing page, but am confused how to code. Please help.

    In HTML you add just CHECKED at theline. I think the cfinput hand is similar. You could then cfif VERIFIED according to session value (YES or NO)

    for example.checked...

    EDIT: UH what he says. :)
