Ingest without transfer to the new destination

My question that I think is pretty simple.

I just started using the prelude.

All I want to do is organize all my files, in order to later transfer to first, so that my editor can work on an already organized file structure.

I swallowed the files at the beginning, but I still saw that he was the 'transfer of clips to destination' option on the right, so I went ahead and ingested in any case, and he ingested all files.

Prior to their registration, I began, I noticed this "transfer of clips to destination" option and I was wondering if it needs to be clicked.

The thing is, if I click it, it will copy all my files (a value of one week of Arri Alexa images) on the other file, and I don't have enough space.

My question is... If I ingest without transferrring to a new destination, I touch with my original files?

I just want to be able to create a simple tray and a structure of comment on my files, without having to buy another hard drive just for this.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Gabriel,

If you add comments and subclip markers in media files ingested on the timeline, these logs would be visible if this file is imported into prelude/first pro.

Ingestion of only one file, with or without transfer to destination, is no not any change in this file.

However, Ingesting with "Clips of transfer' checked refers to the file transferred to the new destination. This means, the ingested once controlled transfer option refers to the new destination.

To view the location of the clips to your computer, right-click on the item in the list or thumbnail view. Select them reveal in Explorer (Windows) or reveal in Finder (Mac OS).

It will be useful.

Thank you

MILIN
