Hey Skymaster47,
Welcome to the Microsoft Answers Forum!
Vista Ultimate, the original operating system or upgrade to Vista Ultimate?
You format the drive hard while re - install Windows Vista Ultimate?
Is - that the same installation media works on another computer?
Step 1:
If you perform a new installation of Windows Vista Edition full, I suggest you perform a flat installation of Windows Vista.
See the link below talking about flat Vista installation:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/928902
Step 2:
I suggest you to follow the steps if you are upgrading a version lower than Windows Vista Edition below:
(1) make sure that your current version of Vista is enabled.
(2) (2) aller go in the Panel, then choose "Uninstall a program" If you are in the home or "programs and features" Control Panel if you are using the classic view.
(3) look to the left and choose "Turn Windows features on or off".
(4) turn off the following features of windows:
Microsoft .NET 3.0 XPS Viewer.
Remote differential compression.
Windows DFS replication service.
5) click on 'OK' and wait that he gets to the uninstall.
(6) while remaining in the program window, uninstall, delete all part 3 drivers that can be installed (graphics card, network card, printer, audio drivers).
(7) remove any CD/DVD burning software and antivirus/antispyware programs.
(8) once that is done, go to your Device Manager screen.
Access the link below talking to get it in the Device Manager:
http://windowshelp.Microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/2d8d5582-c5bc-4395-945F-5c6a273c5afa1033.mspx
(9) uninstall your graphics card, network card and the sound card (Vista can reinstall them, but that's ok).
(10) start your upgrade of Windows without having to restart your computer.
I hope this information helps you, good luck.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards

Install Vista Ultimate on a new disc
Hello world
I have Vista Ultimate installed on my 320 GB internal hard drive.
The Vista disc that I have, cannot be installed on a pc.
Unfortunately, this disc has become unstable and I'm afraid it will fail and I will lose everything on it.
I am about to buy a 1 TB drive and wish first, partition, then install Vista Ultimate on it, then transfer all of my original him.
A simple enough thing to do I guess.
However, I learned by several people that I won't be able to install Vista on drive 1 TB, as Microsoft will see this facility as a "second installation on a second pc" and so I will not be able to validate my drive.
Can someone tell me if this is correct
Thank you very much

It's not correct.
You have a copy of Windows retail or an OEM version? Or we can
be installed only on one computer at a time, but a copy has an OEM
additional restriction: his license it permanently binds to the first
computer, it is installed on and it can never be moved to another.
However, even if it is an OEM copy, change the hard drive does not work
another computer and you can certainly do that and use
your copy of Windows in this regard. -
Please help me with the steps I must follow to upgrade/reinstall my Vista Ultimate OEM 32 bit Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I bought the upgrade CD, but I keep reading that I can't upgrade, I have to re - install. How do, or have I just wasted my money?
Thank you
David
The two DVD come in the box of Vista Ultimate. The same upgrade key works for both. The procedure is to let the 32-bit version on the hard drive for the verification of license and a custom installation will work. The hardware hash will be the same and the product key is the same for the activation servers to happen anyway as a repair installation.

I'm considering the purchase of three laptops for home use and the case I've seen is for three laptops without operating system. I prefer Windows 7 64 - bit Windows 8 and, of course, need a license of user-3. I don't mind if it's Home Basic, Home Premium, professional or ultimate edition, but an 'Upgrade' will work and if not, what would? I have a spare disk Vista Ultimate, which I have not used more than once when I tried the upgrade to XP and didn't like it, so I went back to XP (present under Windows 7 Ultimate for my main PC) Vista has been in the area since then. I hope I did not install Vista Ultimate on all computers laptops before moving on to 3 Windows 7 license, three but I have a feeling vague feeling that I have to do exactly this. You confirm please?
Original title: clean install on the new laptop
Just keep in mind that the OEM versions are equipped with the installation media DVD 32-bit or 64-bit (not both as a retail version) and a product key.
Also the OEM versions are related to the first card of mother/computer it is installed on and cannot be moved to another PC.
The cost of an OEM version is much cheaper than commercial versions, especially since Microsoft stopped selling Windows 7.

As laptops have no OS installed, you need a way to test the system before you try to install an OEM version. I've provided two links to download Windows 7 Home premium (not), but you can install (install without a key) and it allows to test each laptop computer before installing an OEM version.

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD disc, you create and launch the installation.
After you have entered the user name and password that you will be asked:

Also located just below the box where you enter the key is a box with a check mark

During this 30-day grace period you can try to solve your problems.

Re: Satellite U300: can I install Vista Ultimate?
Hello.
A few days back, I bought Satellite U300 series but it came with VISTA Home Premium that I don't want.
Can I install WINDOWS VISTA ULTIMATE on my computer, if yes from where I can download the drivers.
Is there a specific order I have to follow to install the drivers after installing VISTA ULTIMATE.Seniors need help here, please...
Thank you and best regards
Khurram ShahzadOf course, you can install Vista Ultimate on this laptop.
All Vista drivers can be downloaded from the page of European driver of Toshiba.Ask for the specific installation order?
Well, I'd start with the common drivers like Chip Set Utility, display driver, etc.
In addition, I would recommend checking the option details, because there you might find driver and software details.By the way; the Intel Robson (SATA driver) package must be included in Vista because this driver is required for the recognition of the HARD drive.

Qosmio G50 - 10J - cannot install Vista Ultimate again
Hello
I just bought a G50 - 10J with Vista Home Premium (German) installed. I tried to install Vista Ultimate Edition (in English) and formatted the C: drive (where vista was preinstalled); When installing, it freezes at the part "Complete Installation" and after waiting an hour, black screen appears and nothing changes (I tried 3 times and still had the same problem).
Also unfortunately I don't have the recovery CD.
Could someone please help me load Vista again?New portable Toshiba does not come with recovery DVD media and the recovery image is saved on the HARD drive. This means that the laptop owner must create recovery media only.
Toshiba has designed a little reminder of recovery Toshiba. If you skipped it didn't create recovery DVDs before using the Microsoft DVD facilities you have a problem now. All you can do is to order a new copy. You can do so under the https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

Another thing, you can try:
Uninstall the card drivers wireless network from the Device Manager , restart the computer and let the operating system to install the generic drivers.

Need help to install Vista Ultimate x 64 SP1 - error 0x800F081F - standard corrections do not work
I have trouble getting Service Pack 1 installed on Windows Vista x 64 final.
Current issue: SP1 does not appear as an update, and I have not yet installed. Windows Update tells me that I'm completely up to date.
History (memory, may be some errors):
- Performed the new installation, including Vista Ultimate x 64 disk erasure (MSDN)
- Updated to current with windows update
- Installed Office 2007 Ultimate (MSDN) (don't know where update what happened)
- Active Windows (could be a problem doing this after you install updates?)
- Installed CPU usage, network, gadgets sidebar discs counter meter
- Installed Live Family Safety
- Installed Chrome
- Installed Google Apps
- Google Pack antivirus installed
- Installed Google Earth
- Attempted a manual installation of SP1 - fails with the error 0x800F081F
At the present time, I can't get a manual of installation of SP1 to work, and Windows Update tells me that I am up to date. -> System control panel tells me I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate, but does not list all service packs. Because of a problem earlier loading Vista on another PC, a Dell, one who is down, apparently he OEM version cannot be moved (a fact dell neglected to tell me or anyone else) I have now bought a version of Microsoft's Windowes Vista Ultimate, I tried to install this, but he refuses to spend gathering window information in fact he never compleats this part of the installation process , I left so-called co; infromation ecting for 2 hours, only to him find collected not enough to move to the next step of the process. ???????
I have a PC with a 500 GB HD and 2 GB of ram, this should be enough time to store the local liberary, anyone can shed light on this process, as the booklet that accompanies the discs both 32 & 64-bit is less useful than a bull _ if all doesent go right.
How to clean installation:
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

Error code (0 x 40000015) at the location 0x0000ec96 when installing Vista Ultimate 64
I've just set up a computer and I am trying to install Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit. As soon as I put in the product key I get setep.exe Application error "the exception unknown software exception (0 x 40000015) occurred in the application at location 0x0000ec96." What can I do?
Hi MEMason,
1. what type of installation? Is - this facility upgrade or custom (clean) installation?
2. do you have an extra adapter connected to the computer?
3. What is the size of the RAM (Random Access Memory) installed on the computer?
4. do you have 32-bit processor or 64-bit?We recommend that you first perform an installation without a key and check if the problem persists. This means, proceed with the installation without inserting the key during installation.
If the problem persists, we recommend that you simplify the material, for example, if you have an additional video and RAM card, then disconnect / remove the system and run the install to see if the problem persists.

Hi Herman,.
You can try to use Windows Easy Transfer to transfer data and settings to C: on D: drive and install Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit on the C: drive. After installing Windows Vista 64 bit on C: drive try to reuse Windows Easy transfer to transfer the data back (from D: to C: drive).
You can also take an external data backup before you attempt the Installation of Windows Vista.

1. how you try to install Vista? You install using Setup disc or try to re the image?
Please check the compatibility of your drive with Vista:
You can use third party software to do a low-level format of the disk, and then try to install Vista once more.
Important: Microsoft offers no assurance or warranty, implied or otherwise and is not responsible for the download you receive from the sites of third parties or support related to the download or the downloaded technology.
