  • Repeated installation of Windows Vista SP1 in Windows Update and fake notification of successful Installation.

I was using Windows Vista Home Basic 32 bit OS in my Dell Inspiron 1501. The operating system is preinstalled and Windows Update updated to SP2. But recently an unknown problem has occurred and my laptop cannot connect to the internet. As no reason was found, experts have advised the reinstallation of Windows Vista. I reinstalled Vista by running the operating system provided by Dell with my laptop DVD. The laptop started to connect to the internet normally.

I started to receive an update to Windows Vista SP1. I installed it. Installation has suddenly didn't have that about five minutes and the computer also has not restarted several times on its own as expected. At the end of the Windows Update notification "Update" successful installation Update history shows also succeed installing SP1. However, I am receiving the same updated daily and installed in exactly in the same way with the same result. After installation, the Windows version does not display Windows Vista Home Basic SP1 but only Windows Vista Home Basic. What should I do?

I had the same problem and it really irritated me. Even when you install SP1, and he says there are successful (takes like 1 sec inst) and you click on updates search is there once again. He said in the story who is has been installed, but is not there, when I tried to install SP2 maually it is said first install SP1, and then I tried to manually install SP1 and it says that I have already. But if you go to start > right click on 'computer' > properties it does not say you have SP1. So here's what I just did and now it worked and SP2 as well.

When you click on the support link that he gave u get the ability to run a thing 'fixit '. That run. And it still didn't work. (read everything in the support page) Then I went on this link and ran the virus Hunter MS. Nothing was found, problem still there. so I ran again the file 'fixit '. (twice he said them that something was fixed.) then I restart my computer and tried to install the SP1 Setup again and it worked perfectly :) then SP2 and it worked as well manually. and he has actally took like an hour to install. maybe try, worked for me. lol, don't know what measures was unnecessary, but it worked. You can download the SP to install it manually, simply google "manually install SP1/2 for vista" or something and download it.
Sorry for the bad grammar/spelling. In a hurry, lol. I hope that you manage!

    Hello

Please answer a few questions to refine the question.

    1. what happens when you try to install Windows service pack 1?

    2. do you get an error message?

3 - is confined to a specific Windows Update problem?

We will analyze and identify the cause of the problem.

    Locate the installation error code.

To do this, follow these steps:

    a. click Start, click all programsand then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.

    b. on the Windows Update Web site or on the Microsoft Update Web site, click view update history. A window opens that displays the updates that have been installed or that have failed to install on the computer.

    (c) in the State of this window column, find the update failed to install and then click on the red X. A new window opens that displays the installation error code.

    d. Note the error number.

Reset the Windows Update components, and then install the update. Visit the following link and click on Fixit.

How to reset the Windows Update components?

Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. When it restarts it goes through a series of 3 parts of facilities only in failure and take an hour at least to get back to what it was originally. It's frustrating.

    Help!

    Roman Hello R,

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software .

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable the antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network at the time the anti-virus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2: Put the computer in a clean boot State to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the link step 7 to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

Method 3: You can also manually install updates (KB number) by downloading from the Microsoft Download Center.

  • x 201: installation of Windows 7 SP1 removes KB2292867 (fix)

Is there any way to get KB2292867 back on the computer files after the installation of Service Pack 1 for Windows 7?

I noticed a performance increase huge boot after the application KB2292867, which lasted for about 4 days. After 4 days, I installed Service Pack 1 for Windows 7, and startup performance are returned at the time of pre KB2292867.

    Hi BigBossMan,

The 2292867 hotfix are included in service pack 1, so when you try to install this patch which is for Windows 7 without SP1, you will see the dialogbox "update is not applicable to your computer". In other words, no need to install this fix, as part of SP1.

To see the list of fixes and security updates in SP1, you can download the "Hotfixes and security updates" document included in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1.xls using the link below.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=61924cea-83fe-46E9-96d8-027ae59ddc11&DIS...

Why you experience slow start after installing SP1 I don't know, but seems to be linked to something because this hotfix is included in SP1. I don't see any problem of slow start on my computer after the installation of SP1.

    Hi esakhani,

    Thanks for posting your question.

Due to Windows Update, you can try running a Fixit tool from the link below:
How to reset the Windows Update components?
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

After you run the Fixit, in order to install Service Pack 1, you can follow the procedure:
-Download and install the latest Windows Update Agent:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/946928

-Run the computer system preparation tool.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947821

-Download the stand-alone package for the Service Pack 1 from the following link:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=B0C7136D-5EBB-413B-89C9-CB3D06D12674&displaylang=en

-Turn the computer in clean boot mode.
Disabling/uninstalling security software installed on the computer, as appropriate.
-Launch the installation of the stand-alone package of SP 1 to the clean boot.

  • Update that installs get Windows 10 app Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 SP1 KB3035583 is NOT hidden

    Hello

I have Windows 7 SP1, and because my computer is a netbook (small laptop) with only 2 GB maximum installable RAM, I don't want to upgrade to Windows 10.

Nor do I want to find that I have any nagging application on my computer, which I find I become obliged often to answer, in order to re - hide the app.

I have therefore configured as Windows Update settings:

'Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them '

    I then "Hid" update KB3035583,

and also confirmed that he had been placed in the: dialog "restore hidden Updates.

I haven't used the system restore from the cache to update KB3035583,

Yet it often reappears in the list of the optional updates available for installation,

and then I have to hide it again!

When KB3035583 reappears in the list of the optional updates, it also is more listed in the dialog box "restore hidden Updates", yet the other updates that I've previously hidden, remain in this dialog box.

This problem only seems to affect KB3035583.

    This problem is normal?

    Any correction is likely?

Is there a way to fix this?

I hope to hear from anyone with a solution.

    Kind regards

    Ray333

When KB3035583 reappears in the list of the optional updates, it also is more listed in the dialog box "restore hidden Updates", yet the other updates that I've previously hidden, remain in this dialog box.

This problem only seems to affect KB3035583.

Because updates automatically a mask itself as soon as MS Review and install a more recent version. I suggest to use use GWX Panel - ultimate Outsider to remove windows 10 messages.

  • Repair Windows 7 SP1 installation fails.

I'm trying to repair an installation of Windows 7.  Windows 7 has become corrupted during a Microsoft Update in October 2012.  The problem is preventing any Microsoft Updates.  Attempts to get 8007370B error code.  After several failed attempts to remedy this error to Microsoft Update, I tried to do a repair install using my Windows 7 disc.  Which failed, because I had installed the SP1 and the system reported that the installed version is newer than my Windows 7 pre-sevice pack 1 disc.  So I bought Windows 7 with SP1 and tried the 'upgrade' (a.k.a repair) installation, which does not.  The installation failure message asked me to install Microsoft Updates and try again.  You see my problem.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Karl Seeler

I finally gave up trying to solve the problem or making repair installation 7.1 Windows and reinstalled Windows 7, which has updated to 7.1.  I have a second hard drive that makes the backup and restore what I need quickly.  The only problem was with the software that is downloaded.

  • Satellite U840 - new installation of Windows 7

My U840-113 had a hard drive failure, and I did not all backups of the system image.
I installed a new hard drive (no problem), but go crazy trying to get Windows 7 for reinstall.

    Here is what happened...
-Install Windows 7 (service Pack 1) via CD/DVD external, accidentally installed the 32-bit version. No problem, but as I started to go to find all the drivers on the Toshiba site, I noticed some 32-bit options were absent.
-Tried to install the 64-bit version - NOTE, my Windows 7 original release, so before service Pack 1)
-Initially I got error messages indicating that the CD/DVD drivers should continue. Really?
-After research, downloaded the drivers on a CD to use as needed. Did not get this message again because I moved the CD/DVD on another port USB (one who had already given this message!)
-Got if the whole installation, and I get a message "no compatible hardware. What?
-Tried once again, the same message.
-Deletion of the Raid on the SSD drive not... no more Raids on anything!
-Tried once again, the same message.

So I'm sure that this issue has to do with the Raid drivers.

What exactly is the 'trick' to do a fresh install of Windows 7 64 bit on this machine?

I'll see if I can get 64-bit Service Pack 1 (on USB!) to try for my next attempt.

I left the PC at work, while I wouldn't rest up all night trying to get this to work.

    Thank you!

I checked the specification for your laptop and it was delivered with preinstalled Win7 64-bit Home Premium so I recommend you to reinstall Win7 64-bit. It is fully supported and all the drivers, tools and utilities, you can find and download from the Toshiba download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
Please note that you need drivers for Satellite U840 PSU4SE.

Here, you can also download RAID driver to load before starting the installation of Win7. I imagine that without this driver drive HARD will not appear. Download and save to USB key.
Generally installing Win7 on this machine should not be a big deal. I did it on U940 without any problem.
When external ODD is connected start Notepad and press F12. Choose the CD/DVD as first boot device and confirm with the button enter. I assume you are using the original installation of the Microsoft Win7 disc, right?

Disc should be read and the installation should begin. When you see that the disc is not recognized SATA/RAID load driver and continue with the installation. Create the C partition and choose as location for the installation of the OS. I can't imagine that you will have some problems with it. On my machine, that it worked perfectly.

When Win7 is completely installed, you begin with the installation of drivers, tools and utilities. Stuf all install them as follows:
    Windows 7 SP1 of Win7
    Chipset SW installation utility
    Intel Management Engine Interface
    Intel driver
    AMD display driver
    Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver
    Synaptics Touch Pad Driver
    Intel USB3.0 driver
    IRSTCreator
    Alcor Micro Card Reader
Technology of quick start Software Intel
    Conexant Audio driver
    SRS Premium Sound
    LAN driver
    Wireless LAN driver
    Filter driver package Realtek Bluetooth
    Intel Wireless Display
    Bluetooth monitor
Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba
    TOSHIBA Value Added Package
    TOSHIBA Web Camera Application
    PatchFiles PCIIDEREG - 1.2
    PatchFiles TosVolRegulator_1.1

I hope that everything will be OK.
