IOPS / s report vFoglight

Hello

I'm looking to create the IOPS / s vFoglight report. Having read that there is a v-Bundle1 cartridge that is available that adds this functionality.

The link to the v-Bundle1 does not.

Anyone know where I can download this cartridge?

or is it all the same to generate IOPS / s box report

Hi Shindemayur,

Foglight for virtualization Enterprise Edition (former vFoglight) has this capability out of the box.

Try to create a custom, report by selecting all the virtual machines, select the table display, then add the parameters you need. I used:

  • Name
  • IOPS / s storage/Datastore - metric

Then hit run and I was able to see the report.  Link

I hope this helps,

Gaston.

  • Machine virtual IOPS / s report, how to display the name of the data store?

    Hi guys

I am new to the Foglight community, this is a great tool, and I learn a lot.

Currently I am trying to create a simple table that will show me metric of my VMware environment: Virtual Machine name, Datastore IOPS and data store.

However I can't find how to include data store name in the table, because it is not a measure of the Virtual Machine. I think I need to expand the scope of my table to include VMware Datastore, but I don't know how to do this.

    -Mark

Check the options available it seems that it can be done with WCF (the frame behind the Foglight dashboards).  We recommend generally customers who plan to build views WCF take adequate training or our PSO people engaged in it.

In any case I can help show a quick example of how it's done.

Please try this on a local/test server.

Go to Configuration > definition >

Make sure that you are in my definition, and click the icon to add a view. then choose from the tables and trees - oriented line table

Give a name to the view, go public and make a portlet/reportlet and apply

Switch to the configuration tab and click the change for the lines and choose a query

Under query, expand the VMware and scroll down

Until you can select the query for virtual machines

    And press the set button.

Your view should look like this

Now you must select the columns.

Each column has a value you can edit and there is a button + to add additional columns.

Lets start with the name of the virtual machine - click on the button to change to your default column and choose the context.

Click on the drop down menu to enter key and choose the current line (virtual vmware machine)

Click on the drop down menu to access path and scroll down until you can select the name and then click on set.

You have created a table that lists the names of all virtual machines.

You can click on save. and then click test, choose a time and click the result. A new window will open a show the list you of virtual machines.
From here you can continue to add additional columns, each time choosing the key entry in the current line and the path to the metric/string to display.

For example, the name of the data store.
    I change the module

Click the configuration tab and click the icon to add a column

For the column value, that I chose defined context once again, the key input is the current row and for the path, I expand the node for the data store

And scroll until I see the Proprietename

If you save and test you will see the result

Keep adding columns and the data you want, notice that you have arrows that allow you to control the order of the columns.

Note that you can click Show advanced configuration properties

This will give you the opportunity to see the properties of the extra table, such as header - giving you the opportunity to give a more meaningful name (name of the data store, the name of the virtual machine, etc.) to the column header.

You can now go you drag and drop the table edge/report and under my eyes, you will see your new view

Drop it in the main view

I hope this has given you the starting point to build this table.

As I said, I strongly recommend going through our WCF training if you plan build more custom views or hire software Dell PSO Organisation to help build you views that correspond to your need.

    Best regards

  • Customer (ESXi host memory, CPU usage & network) report - VFoglight

Customer report (memory host ESXi, CPU usage & network) - a single report, we would like to see the top host memory, CPU usage & network (in vertical graphic mode) & wise high use of cluster for monthly wise.

Create a custom report for our requirement.

    * Click on the general TAB on the right pane - action-> click on create dashboard.

    * Select use all data-> next-> name of the dashboard-> next-> select the type of column-> finish.

    * Click on the data TAB, expand VMware-ESX host > & slipped, objects-> to select create Table

    * Select Show all on the shortcut menu select Properties.

    Select ESX, ESX version build:

Expand CPU-CPU host-> consumer > select high CPU.

Expand the memory-> memory host--> Select MemoryProcesses top of the page.

Expand Stoarge-> storage-> process host select high IO-> next-> next-> next-> select the ESX host to add to this table of edge/report from the list of filters under-> click Finish.

If this point of view to the table, I've found metric to the graph view.

But when we ran the report, values showed n/a, unfortunately. For the cluster option, I can't use superior even to the table view.

Some can help me pull vFoglight report.

    Concerning

    Virginia Reynaud

One way to do this easier would be to create an array with the elements you want on it, as the name of the virtual machine, the use of the processor etc... and then you can filter/sort by CPU utilization, memory usage etc. and only have the Top 10 or anything else you like.

  • SAN IOPS / vFoglight s

VFoglight can provide information about PAHO are / s current and historical IOPS / s of the SAN connected hosts use it? In this case the only systems using the SAN are monitored by vFoglight so all SAN activity is from these only hosts of hosts. Perhaps there is a canned report that can produce this info?

Sidebar open right – Datastores & slipped to your personalized dashboard - select View - Make sure Show by role is disabled, select store data high-flow-vtable - next - filter on unwanted data warehouses - finishing

To choose what measures, you want to display in the view click the customizer (arrow below).

Don't forget the numbers you see are the average numbers on the timeperiod you chose. You can change the timeline and move as well.

  • How to run the IOPS report / s

Well, forgive me here to post what may appear to be simple, but honestly, I'm new to this foglight for virtualization and must say that it is not very intuitive...

I'm trying to run a built-in foglight for enterprise edition of virtualization report, do not know what version se because I don't see anything on this interface that would still provide this info.

    I take steps:

    (1) in the left pane, select reports

    (2) right pane, click on run a report

    (3) the selection of the model, I search for IOPS / s and select the predefined report IOPS / s "FAQ answer: Lun with more strong average IOPS / s" and then click Next

    (4) here's where I'm Stumped, set the input parameters...  I can set the time interval, no bid, but under the present agreement is LUN and shows 'required': Watch and its expects a value... I click on the radio button with the 3 points (periods) and I am presented with the options: data list null request function

I don't know what it is or what to do... I think that "list" would be to select the list of the LUN, I want to have included in the report, but when I click on it I introduced more confusing on-screen on the list binding...

This is where I need help here...

LUN, is this VMware data stores?   not sure... doesn't seem to be, but guess what, that's what they are... a lun is provisioned to VMware, it becomes a data store...

I'm apparently does nothing good... I have no training, not even sure it exists...

Goal - to get a report on PAHO are / s against VMware data warehouses...

    can someone please help.

    Hi Kgottleib

Looks like that the report is part of the dashboard storage environment. If you have enabled (and authorized) storage cartridge, you may be able to find this information in the FAQ (see image below) tab

    Just search "Ops".

    I hope this helps.

  • You try to run a report to view the comments of the CPU usage in vFoglight 6.0

I am trying to run a report to view the comments of the CPU in vFoglight 6.0 usage, as I have a couple of VMs that seem to cause problems. I want to see what that levels of CPU for a while inside the virtual machines, but I only seem to be able to find the data in the reports for the use of the host processor.
    Any help is welcome

If you want to use canned reports, which I think will work for what you ask, there is a pre-built for you.
Home > reports > report > select the right model under all report templates ("using the virtual machine CPU and time ready" looks like the report that you want to")
for the service should work the vCenter. This will send you all the hosts and any use of the VMs UC over what period you set (default is 4).

  • How to change an existing report in vFoglight v5 or v6?

I want to know how to change a relationship by Vizion Core vFoglight 6. We have upgraded the version of the 5-6 Worm worm vFoglight. Could you please provide the steps to modify these reports. Also need to know how to change an existing dashboard?

you want to change communications canned or reports that you have created? Same question for the dashboards.

In one, I run, I changed the "Connect-VIServer-menu" to simply plug the vCenter Server I use. I also changed line 16 to 'Get-ResourcePool' since there's not enough pools to make this work. Using the PowerCLI utility, I don't have the option that indicates on line 25. I used the export feature to create csv files in other scripts, but I can't make it work in this case. I know it's probably something simple that I'm just missing.

I like the length of time that this script uses the information. If anything, I don't want to go back to the suite to get a better idea of what the actual maximum number what is / was. It is also necessary to have the columns for information (as he shows). If we are to refine for which metric is present, I would be ok with just having the IOPS numbers / s max in the table.

Any guru PowerCLI have an idea?

    Try like this

    Add-pssnapin VMware.VimAutomation.Core - ErrorAction SilentlyContinue

  • Report capability with VFoglight 6.1

    Hello
I was looking for a way to generate reports of ability as follows.
    1. it should display a summary of what is current and additional capacity for VM with the statndard configuration.
I know that capacity planning cartridge can do that, however can who enforce it against cluster?
    Kind regards
    Paresh

OOTB, this is impossible, but a member of our sales team created a cartridge that has the ability to do so.
I suggest that you contact your sales representative and ask about the velocity cartridge.
It's a cartridge not supported as vBundle-1, but both are beautiful cartridges to have nonetheless.

  • Monthly report of IOPS / s for a virtual computer

I'm trying to get a monthly IOPS / average/maximum s for a virtual machine unique.

Here is the part of the command I am running:

    $statsRead = get-Stat - virtualdisk.numberreadaveraged.average Stat-entity $vm - Start (get-date).adddays(-30) - IntervalSecs 60

Any more than two minutes interval causes an error, and anything less than 2 minutes ends up being 20 seconds.  Basically, I can't get IOPS / s for the last hour.  Am I missing something, or is it just the limitation of this counter?

According to VMware and my own tests, VM IOPS requires level 3 statistics.  After the rise of the level, I am now able to get history IOPS / sec for more than an hour.  Thanks for the tips.

  • Performance indicators not available on a new Installation of vFoglight 6.8 (5.6.7)

    Hi all!

I just installed vFoglight 6.8 (Foglight 5.6.7) on RHEL 6.4 that uses an external database on MS SQL.

He has worked for 24 hours.

I'm not able to view access or report on measures of performance on any one of the CV, DataCentres, ESX, banks of data or VM host.

All the vCentres and items such as the names of the hosts, vms and datatores are visible and show if fed the pages of summary on or outside and there.

and all of the alerts in the scope of her show too?

Just no Performance Metrics (CPU, disk, Mem, and network).

I did install a fix for the VMWare-Performance 5.6.7.1 cartride and update the agents as well as updating the FGLAM to 5.6.7.2.

Always the same problem after these checks:

    Database access is correct

    No firewall.

    vCenter administrator access

Starts the service and the server after each change

No error detected on the Agent log and no alert agent / errors on the FMS for the agent or the FMS itself.

    Virtual Server installation details:

    RHEL 6.4

    16 GB memory

    4 vcpu

    1 gb card NETWORK

Java mem: (to the first default)-now Xms8192m and Xmx8192m

MS SQL DB space available 8 GB to 10 GB (will increase when necessary)

1.) here is a link that will tell you how to proceed: http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/virtualization/infrastructure/b/storage-blog/archive/2012/03/28/thin-provisioning

2.) If you go to the reports, there is a snapshot report open. This will tell you your shots.

3.) Yes, there are many roles that can be defined. You can link these roles Auditors AD. Under the houses, go to Administration, user and security management...

    (4) the difference is VoP Server Standard is a virtual solution, that can help with capacity Mgt, optimization/Automation, Chargeback. vFoglight business means you get VoP, more features vFoglight vFoglight - with detailed reports, dashboards, analysis of performance depth - are more than one business control solution - you can also monitor storage, AD, Exchange, databases, networks, physical servers, you can see inside the guest o/s. • Report on the number of virtual machines by datastore

    Hello

I use vFoglight 6.6.2. I try to have a report generated every week that contains the number of virtual machines running in the data store. But I don't know how to create a table of edge/report for these details.

    request for expert assistance.

The following query gives you so all virtual machines on the specified data store

Using the following mandatory input parameters:

    {VMWDatastore}: type foglight - 5:VMWDatastore

    Select objects of type Machine virtual VMware in parameter {VMWDatastore}

    root of {VMWDatastore} / virtualCenter/virtualMachineCollection/virtualMachines

    where:

    ({VMWDatastore} to /datastores and)

(/ vmState/current/value is equal to "receiving")

Like query UI setup will allow you to use it as a dashboard of entry.

Try around with the request and let me know if this help.

  • Use of memory in custom PDF report

I've got enough new for custom reports which can be emailed recurring and could use some help.  A challenge I have reports on the use of memory for a VM guest.  In the 6.7.1 vFoglight ago summer version updated enjoyable at the sight of use memory on the summary for any guest VM tab in the environment.  See below.

But when I go in my custom report and try to get this same view displayed I don't see an option for the computer prompted virtual memory usage.  There are options for distributed, consumed, reserved and so forth, but no use of comments don't like in the Summary tab.  I have an option for the host memory usage, but obviously it does not state that on the fraction of memory the guest VM uses for all the memory available on the host.  Is there a way to add usage memory VM invited to a custom report?

Enter the memory-> host memory.  We share a model with physical systems, so some measures are within the host such as use model.
