iOS update broke my home button

I just updated my iPhone 6 with the new update and now my home button only works for the double tap is not going to the home screen

A software update can not 'break' material.

Reset. Restoration. Restore as new. If none of the people in difficulty, make an appointment at the genius bar and have it checked.

    Hello

I decided to join the community for others to ask a question on the feeling of the behavior 'double click' to enter the iPad Home button. My iPad Air has a mechanical button at home and double-tap will reduce life to the theoretical "half-life".

Furthermore, the idea behind this is strange to me. The first click wake up my iPad and now I can for example drag to the left screen to open apps for Siri proposals for example or I can slide to the right to get the camera. Appeal stands for solution. So, we can I not the proposals of Siri on the unlock screen? Or why not configure to enter directly into my iPad?

As for the design of the widget on the left screen list? It makes sense to lose so much space for the icon "setup"?

I am very unhappy with the ideas behind the new design and I also no reason to change the behaviour as each device works the previous. What is the idea of the sales department to force the broken home buttons?

What do you thing? I use it wrong?

    Hello

You can go to the accessibility and make your button at home appear on the screen, then you can use

    As a home button.

    See you soon

  • iPhone 5 home button does not work after ios 10

My 5 Iphone Home button does not work after update final IOS version of 10.

The home button works on the first push to wake the phone but it will not open the phone the second button.

I activated the assist button, which does not work either. But what I discover is if I open device for assistance then touch and lock screen click on the button home will work once to open the phone. If I open any app I can't close it unless I go through the same routine.

You attempted to restart your phone?

You can do so by holding the sleep/wake button and the Home button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears

  • iPhone iOS 5 + 10: press the button to unlock home takes 5 seconds to unlock the device

    Hello!

Yesterday, I did the update to iOS 10 on my iPhone 5.

Now, it takes 5 seconds to unlock my iPhone 5 after pressing the home button. It is average for a long time! Everyone even experiences?

    Thank you!

It is normal for the old model of the iPhone 5. in any case, you can try to reset your device and check if it helps.

Try resetting your device. This will not erase your data stored on that device.

    • Press and hold the sleep/wake button
    • Press and hold the Home button
    • Press and hold both buttons until the display turns off and on again with the Apple logo on the subject.

Alternatively, you can go to settings - general - reset - Reset all settings

If that doesn't work, restore your device to factory settings. Please note that this will delete the data on your device.

Take a look this Apple Support article: use iTunes to restore the iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support.

  • iOS 10 - now I touch Touch ID, * and * press the Home button to open iPhone?

I have an iPhone 6, and today I have updated to iOS 9.3.5, to 10.0.1.  One thing I noticed that really bothers me, it's unlocking the device.  With iOS 9, I had to touch the Touch ID to unlock.  Now I touch the ID to touch and sometimes it unlocks, and sometimes, I see 'Unlocked' at the top of the screen and "Press home to open" at the bottom.  I have to press the Home button to open the phone.

It seems to me that having to push the home button more often will put more wear and tear, causing to fail more sooner than it otherwise.  Who thought it was a good idea?  It is perhaps a subtle boost to force me to update the iPhone 7, with his home in the solid state button?

I think it's something that needs to be modified in iOS 10.0.2.  Make sure that touching just the Touch ID opens the phone each time, as iOS 9 has done.

Happened to me too.  To repair. go to General settings accessibility HomeButton scroll Restfinger unlock... .and turn on.

  • By pressing the home button does not take me to the home screen of iOS 9.3.3

I have recenly updated upgraded to iOS 9.3.3 and I noticed that pressing the home button does not take me to the home screen. The only way to get there is by using the creature of multitasking. (double pressing the home button) Also, some applications seem to freeze if turn my phone off and then turn it back on, or when I access it via the multitasking function. Can someone please help?

Try a forced reboot. Hold down the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time for about 15 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. You won't lose anything.

If a force restart does not help, try a system restore. First save your device via iTunes. Also import your photos on your computer and copy all the important data. Reconstruction of the support first test and test. If this does not help, you may need to restore as a new and reconfigure from scratch as the backup may be damaged. It is important to have your photos and your saved data separately from the backup. Here are the steps for a restoration:

  • iOS 9.2 translates freezing screens and the 'home' button does not

I have problems and more from Friday December 11 when I've upgraded to iOS 9.2.

    Device: iPhone 5 s

    Problems:

-Screen freezes randomly reboot * required (sometimes restart by the camera itself)

-Sometimes device reacts very slowly on the command (or even then restarts)

-For the most part within the first hour when used, sometimes immediately (after restart)

-Cannot slide or apps to react when I touch

-AssitiveTouch on, keep available however to move and opening, but no order accepted when the screen is in gel

    Resolution of problems so far:

    -Reset all settings (no result)

    -Backup on iTunes (11 dec)

-Erase content and settings and restore the backup to iCloud (10 Dec *) (no result)

-Erase content and settings and restore the backup of iTunes (11 dec) (no result)

-Tried with the new iPhone camera 6 and restore backup icloud (unsuccessfully; restore hangs at "1 minute remaining")

-Tried with the new iPhone camera 6 and restore backup of iTunes (no result: same freezing questions reappear)

Conclusion date: is not a hardware problem (device), but one software: combination of the configuration (such as backup) and the new iOS 9.2.

By the way: I guess that not possible to restore 9.1 on the device.

The new iPhone 6 initially contained iOS 9.1, but then did not 'see' backups, because they were made from a 9.2 iOS device.

So I had to first install the iPhone 6 as a new iPhone, upgrade to iOS 9.2 and then I was able to reset and restore the backup (with no good result, as described above).

    *) restarts: hold Home-button on/off-button simultaneously for 10 seconds

backup *) in the form of clouds 10 Dec worked without problem on iOS 9.1.

I will continue to investigate on removing the apps installed a year or two, see if that generates the result.

After a few reboots and removal of some applications (for example, OneDrive), my iPhone 6 preformed well for a few days.

However, it seemed that my search bar for the application of Messages and Notes app has not produced all realistic either.

I then did a reset again and after that, it al returned to the freezing and bogged down again

  • Since recent iOS updated my 6s lights (lock screen) when moving or touching the screen

Incredibly annoying and battery draining experience that only began just after I updated the iOS

The lock screen lights up constantly, even when I'm not in contact with one of the buttons (I'm still not near the Home button).

I have since disabled touch 3D , but it still happens.

Try a forced reboot. No data is affected by this. To force the reboot your device, press and hold the two buttons of sleep/wake and home for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

  • Double click on the home button brings a list of open applications

  • After iOS updated 9.3.2,and I can't transfer pictures to my PC

I installed the iOS 9.3.2 update on my iPhone 4S. A few days ago I realized that I was low on storage space. I have collected many photos of my grandchildren and other less important things. 1249 pictures to be exact. I started the process I use to transfer pictures to my Windows PC Pro 10. After connecting the iPhone to the PC, a few times, the PC he recognized in the file Explorer. I find the iPhone in the list. I opened it. I clicked on "internal storage". It was empty. There is no "DCIM" folder or any file, as there has always been before. Y at - it something I'm doing wrong or not Apple introduced a new method to transfer photos in the iOS 9.3.2 update?

    Howdy, PINETREE01!

In my view, that he is your first message to Apple Support communities. Welcome! You are in the right place for help. It is important to be able to import your photos.

The method that you use to import the photos should still work. Since you saw misbehave, it of a good idea to restart the computer and the iPhone, and then try again. If this does not help, we have a guide for the next steps: If you can not import pictures from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer

In particular, try the following steps:

    Updates

    1. Automatically search for updates of your photo management software and iTunes.
    2. Update your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.
    3. Update your Mac or PC. In Windows, use the Windows Update application.

Try to import photos once again

First of all, repeat the steps to import photos to your computer . Try the following steps:

    1. Create a new photo to import. You can Save a screenshot on your iOS device by pressing the Home button and the sleep/wake button at the same time.
    2. Connect your iOS device to your computer.
    3. Try to import your photos using your photo management software. You can also try the following steps on your PC:
      • Mac: Open Capture of Image in the Applications folder.
      • Windows 8: Move the cursor to the top right, click the magnifying glass, enter the computer and press return. Right click on your device under portable devices (if present) and choose import photos.
      • Windows 7: Click Start > computer. Under devices laptops, right click on the device and then choose import photos.
    4. If your computer does not see your device, make sure that your device trusts the computer.

  • ios9.2.3 iPad 2 "home" button

Hi, sorry to do this, but I don't know another way to let you know about a problem I have with the last update.

The home button does not work since the update of my iPad 2.  Well, ok, this works if I double click.  If I double click, it shows the programs open.  If only I click, it does nothing.  It is supposed to return to the Home/Office page.  I tried to activate the help key but has the same problem

I hope that this is only temporary.  Does anyone else have this problem?

    Hello

I know exactly how you feel. This is a bug in iOS 9. Restart your device and let me know if your problem has been resolved. If that were the case, know that it happens when you pull down the notification bar and you release and click on the home button until it touches the bottom.

I really hope I helped you!
