    We are customer capture virtual infrastructure (2.5v1) using ThinApp (V4.0.1) and the application works perfectly. On a native system.

    When starting the application on a virtual system (VMware ESX, Windows XP SP3 with VMware tools installed) inventory (hosts and clusters) is not met.     I captured Virtual Infrastructure Client 2.5 with Thinapp (4.0.1 - build2866) on a virtual machine.

    I launched it on a clean snapshot of a VM and I could see the inventory correctly.

    But when I launched the same thing on my local (or native) machine, the inventory has been posted under vacuum. I tried to add a center of data through the menu bar or the toolbar. The data center has been added correctly and now the inventory was also displayed. Following the closure the Thinapped VIClient and new launch and its connection to the virtual server Center, the inventory has been posted correctly.

    Try to add any new data center or a folder to empty inventory and check if inventory is displayed.

Firefox displays gooblygook, even if the name of file is an html element, the Notepad of Windows crashes, MS Excel does not recognize the file type. MS Word also displays goobblys when the file has no file extension.

    If you use the file printing, then you will get a file that is supposed to be sent to a printer, and this file has any sort of code formatting for this printer.

    Open such a file in Firefox or a text editor can only work if you use one printer for text to print the file to, then make sure that such a printer is installed and selected.

    If you are on MAC: -.

    1) go to the location:-~/Library/Preferences (you can use Finder--> Go--> Go to folder or shift + command + 'G' type in the location)

    (2) move the com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.3 folder to another location

    (3) inside of the Preferences folder, navigate to the Adobe folder and move the following folders to another place: -.

    Adobe Adobe Muse CC libraries, library CC Adobe Muse, Muse CC

    If you are on a windows machine: -.

    (1) open file type %appdata%\microsoft\windows\sendto and Explorer on the top (C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming)

    (2) move the com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.3 folder to another location

    (3) inside of the Roaming folder, navigate to the Adobe folder and move the following folders to another place: -.

    We currently manage many machines ESX from a server running Windows 2 k 3 and Virtual Infrastructure Client. If stop us the windows 2 k 3 machine, it will have no effect on the correct ESX servers? All virtual machines will always be operational?

    HA is not dependent on vCenter except for the initial Setup.  So, if you are closing vCenter, maybe just the value of DRS 5 stars leaving HA as it is.  After all if there is a hardware failure, you still want your guests to failover.

    Tips form my experience:

    1. Be very careful with snapshots - not to keep in them long - you could basically trouble and performance degradation when the shots become big
    2. try to avoid if possible the RDM (booking SCSI problems)
    3. Keep an eye on you, SAN - 80% of performance problems comes from a bad configuration of the SAN
    4. When you do the maintenance of the network always disable the monitoring host and DRS value manual
    5. VMFS using VI client, be sure to make and configure the maximum block size (8MB) - it will save you a lot of time in a future
    6. avoid VMFS extends if possible
    7. keep servers ESX/ESXi and vCenter to build the highest level - a lot of problems have been corrected in the new updates or patches
    8. restrict access to the server vCenter - not everything needs to access everything

    I'm looking for a few good strategies for the creation of the sectoral areas of virtual infrastructure where administrators can delegate control limited users to their own virtual machines.  I'm open to solutions and strategies such as applications that plug in vmware or to use what already exists in VMware based on the software - this reference books would be useful too.

    The concept is that some groups of virtual machines have their traffic segmented all LAN users, but able to commicate between them and able to access internet. All virtual machines for these users are in vSphere.  Another goal is to limit the licensing costs by allowing them to use an existing environment vSphere and buy more licenses as little as possible - giving them a limited admin functions but no control over the environment.

    vCloud Director will do that - but there is a cost associated.

  • Configure replication vSphere fails - there is a virtual machine that has the same UUID instance than the one you are trying to configure

    Hi all


    My colleague was trying to extend a hard disk of a server 2008R2 who (1) had a snapshot and (2) was being replicated. The operation has failed and they took the snapshot replication can be stopped. Long story short when I got to him, the server could not be configured for replication and could not extend the disk and a vMotion failed.

    Looking at the files of the VM on the data store and the VMs .vmx file we have all the characteristics of a virtual machine always configured for replication of vSphere. If you try to configure replication vSphere causes an instant error "vsphere replication does not support change the length of a replicated disk. After a few changes I can reconfigure vSphere new replication, however, when the wizard has finished, I get a new error message (see below):

    "Try to set up vSphere that replication has failed for the VM"name vm"during the creation of groups"vm". There is a virtual "vm-name" machine that has the same instance UUID ' UUID of the Virtual Machine "that you want to configure. The existing vSphere of replication is configured for site protection.

    A possible solution would be to reset the database embedded VRMS our DR as suggested here VR configure replication after losing a VC site server but I was wondering if there is another solution? I have not reset the database of VRM before and cannot find a document that tells exactly what to do. I guess I need to stop all the rehearsals before resetting the database?

    There is no need to reset the VRMS database.

    If you know the value GID... an orphan replication, you can use the CROWD VRMS (https://vrms_address:8043/mob/?moid=GID-...&vmodl=1) to call the destroy method - it is eliminating simple replication to the site of the source or the target.

    If you don't know the GID... value, it can be found of VRMS DB or log files. Please file an SR for assistance.

    This procedure is already documented in internal KB articles and help using VMware support:

    KB article internal 2056086, section "cannot replicate virtual machine as there is another virtual machine with the same UUID instance"

    and also internal KB article 2060751.

    The admin guide section will be updated as it is confusing right now by suggesting only to reset the DB.

Everyone laughing that I'm an Apple product collector because of the many products that I have and always ready to buy from someone old phone/pad/Mac ect.  Everyone knows who come to if they want to sell their items, have questions or need assistance. Now, the so-called Apple girl is transformed into an "Apple tree" fell from the shot of the tree drifted grass on a hill and stuck in a ditch!  Day after day, trying to figure out how to get out of that ditch all day every day is the same, I do it every day trying to figure out the mystery of my iPhone 6 bought 16 GB brings in new and used less than 2 1/2 months he became all black! Of course my first assumption was that he had to settle of course is that I did. I went to make a phone call and power on a c a few hours later, and when it all began the mystery that is still not resolved and when the daughter of Apple of cities eventually MIA because, like the crabapple she is stuck somewhere and I will give up trying to figure out what to do!  There was no damage to the waters or any other damage. It is protected and a matter of proof of life from the day of purchase. I chatted online with Apple support, also spoke on the phone with Apple support. Online and telephone support from Apple were very patient and great to work with, as they tried to help me. Unfortunately, it comes to sending in Apple or make a trip of six hours round trip to the nearest place that has an Apple expert who can look at. I've never had an iPhone Act in manner and I am very confused.  I have a few iPhones that are down and works perfectly well, but it was used less than 2 1/2 months and won't do anything. I have tried the factory reset hang on to iTunes and nothing. When I put it on charge the red light at the top is not even the light until it is as if the phone doesn't even have a battery inside.  At point of customer service, said he was locked up due to the Apple ID, but already knew it wasn't the issue because who wouldn't keep the red lighting light when plugged in to charge. Is there someone who has experienced anything like this or any reason why this would happen? Any help would be greatly appreciated and help this Apple out of the pit, in which she is stuck!
