Is it possible to keep the pictures in Windows Photo Gallery

Among the 400 photos that I put in folders on my desk to work with them using a much better Image Editor Windows Photo Gallery made thousands of photos and when I try to get rid of them in the photo gallery are removed from the computer. You are given no option to copy / paste only delete.

Should I just uninstall Photogallery and put an end to his lame reproduction.

Hello

Windows Photo Gallery is designed to automatically display the pictures and videos stored in the folder of images on your computer. You can change the contents of the Gallery at any time by adding and removing folders, which is convenient if store you some of your photos and videos in one location other than the folder of photos on your computer. You can also add pictures and videos to photo gallery without adding the entire folder.

Warning: Photo Gallery is another way to view and organize your photos and videos. It displays images and videos you have stored in the images and other files on your computer. It is not a replacement for folders on your computer. Therefore, you must not delete the photos in the photo gallery or the pictures in the folder unless you really want to delete the picture from your computer. If you do, they will be deleted from your computer and no longer appear in the pictures folder or photo gallery.

If the answer is not to store your file in the images under your user profile folder or they will be deleted when you delete them from Photo Gallery.

  • How to delete a picture in Windows Photo Gallery tag files or specific files of photo files without deleting the image completely out of all of these places, leaving the image in one place vs. have in several places?

I'm trying to manage my photos already imported and downloaded on my computer.  There is a master "All photos and videos" folder in the Windows Photo Gallery all in the top left of this program.  Below that is a folder "Images".  Below that are "Tags" with a certain number of 'labelled' folders below.  Lower in another main 'Images' folder with a folder of the yellow file beside him icon.  Here's this file, a number of other folder also named with the file yellow folder icon next to them as well.

What I'm trying to do is manage all these photos and who want to keep a copy of an image in one of the folders of images with an icon of yellow folder next to him.  However, if I delete an image from anywhere in one of the places mentioned above, no matter which, a copy or copies of the image lies, the given image and all copies in one of the other place listed in the first subparagraph above are deleted and this specific photo is present ONLY in the recycling bin.

How can I do what I want to do here?  I hope that's clear enough!

    Thanks a lot (someone)...

    Hi EKahn,

When you delete a file from the library, you do not your computer delete it. If you delete a folder, photo library no longer displays images and videos that were in that folder, although the file remains on your computer.

You can remove the folders that you have added to the Gallery of photos at any time, but you cannot remove files that are in the default Photo Gallery. Remove a folder prevents him from appearing in the photo gallery. If you delete a photo, it is deleted from your computer as if you deleted the images folder.

  • I can't open the .jpg files from the desktop using "Windows Photo Gallery" as the default program. They open normally from nowhere elsewhere, but not directly from the desktop. No error, nothing happens.

If I right click 'open with' open with other programs like IE but not "Windows Photo Gallery". It is not a specific .jpg file, this is all .jpg files. For example... I have a .jpg file in a folder on my desktop, open folder double click, it will open in the "Windows Photo Gallery". Copy and paste the SAME file on the desktop, double-click on, nothing happens. I tried to restart, change the default value of IE, open the file, it opens, by default change to "Windows Photo Gallery" doesn't work... I am confused?

    Hello

Welcome to the community of Windows Vista answers.

    Method 1:

This can happen in the database that keeps track of all the photos and videos in your collection is damaged. You can rebuild your database by:

    (1) close Windows Live Photo Gallery

    (2) · Click Start

    (3) · Click on my computer

    (4) · Paste this address into the address field %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Photo Gallery

    (5) · Right-click Pictures.pd5

    (6) click on rename

    (7) · Change the name of the file to OLD_Pictures.pd5

    (8) · Restart the computer and then try to open the Windows Photo Gallery.

    Method 2:
Try using the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker to check and repair corrupt system files.  To do this, follow these steps:

    How to run scan SFC

    1. click on the Start button

    2. on the Start Menu, click all programs followed by accessories

    3. in the menu accessories, right-click on command line option

    4. in the drop-down menu that appears, click the "Run as Administrator" option

5 If you have the enabled User Account Control (UAC) you will be asked to consent to the opening of the command line. You simply press the button continue if you are the administrator or insert password etc.

    6. in the command prompt window, type: sfc/scannow then press enter

    7. a message is displayed to indicate that "the analysis of the system will start.

    8. be patient because the analysis may take some time

    9. If all of the necessary files any replacement SFC will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Vista DVD for this process to continue

    10. If all goes although you should, after the analysis, see the following message "Windows resource protection not found any breach of integrity.

11 after the scan finished, close the command prompt window reboot the computer and check.

  • Remove the tags in Windows Photo Gallery

This question is about the photo gallery Windows on a Vista operating system. My question is about the drop-down auto-liste of tags that grows each time you enter a new tag. Handy if you want to use something you've used before but a nuisance if you want to erase it. I figured out how to remove tags on the pictures still on the computer. My question is about the images that have been deleted and is not recoverable. There is always this tag leftover junk that applied to these photos that I deleted. appears whenever you try to add a new tag and resists all efforts to remove it. I contacted gateway computer people since they installed the operating system and got the solutions really wild just to remove the unnecessary tags. I thought that everything you enter, you should be able to delete... just... but this has proved to be a great puzzle. I hate to have to do a restore to original factory specifications and lose everything I've added to this day to get rid of these pesky tags. In addition, it simply repeats the problem unless I have find how to remove the little monsters.

    I hope someone can help...

    Hi Jo,.

It's a good thing to be careful when you edit the registry.  In your case, as the registry key seems to be very specific to the Windows Photo Gallery, we can export the folder safely we are change.  Be sure to close the Windows Photo Gallery before you start.

    • Click the ball to Start .
    • Type regedit in the box start the search.
    • Navigate through the folders on the left at the following key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Gallery\Library\PreviewPane\LabelAssignment\MRU photo

    • Right click on the folder MRU in the left hand window and choose export.
    • Give it a file name (no matter what you name it) and save to the desktop.
    • In the right window, you will see keys named MRU00, MRU02, MRU03 etc...
    • Right-click on these keys and click on delete.

Once you are finished, close the registry editor by clicking the x in the upper right and restart your computer.  When she returns to the top, open the Windows Photo Gallery and see if the tags are gone.

If you receive errors of ANY opening of photo gallery, simply, do a right click on the file that you have already saved on the desktop and choose Import.  That will undo any changes that we have made.

Please let me know if that helps.

    Standard WARNING:
Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk...

  • How to copy or send pictures from windows photo gallery to my pictures in Windows Vista?

How to copy or send photos of the Gallery Pho Windows to my pictures (Progr. is Windows Vista), or to copy them to another external hard drive

Your photos are not archived in the Windows Photo Gallery... it access
the files for viewing and changing the location, they are saved in the
your hard disk... probably your pictures folder.

The only pictures actually stored by Windows Photo Gallery are the
original versions of photos that have been published. It is for the purpose
back to if you are unhappy with the version published the photo.

The original photos (unpublished) are located in the following folder:
    C:\Users\\Appdata\Local\Microsoft\Windows Photo Gallery\
    Original images.

If you right click on a thumbnail in the Windows Photo Gallery and choose...
Open the file location... you can find the current folder, the file is saved in.

You can right click on a picture or a selected group of photos or a complete
folder in the menu... Choose... Send to... a menu is displayed
which should include your extra hard drive.

Also you can drag and drop or copy and paste files from one hard disk to another.

  • Cannot open a pictures using Windows Photo Gallery

    BAD WINDOWS PHOTO GALLERY!

My Windows Photo Gallery says it cannot open the image because it is used by another program? I'm trying to save some pictures of fotoflexer, he saves but the pic appears blank in the folder when I try to see...

    1. I don'thave open other programs

    2. I can see the other images that are saved on my computer

Can someone help me with this problem? I had no trouble using windows photo gallery it any other time so far...

    Hi MsNesha,

What is the exact message you get?

As the message States, it could be used by fotoflexer. A probability is, after you have changed the images that you would not have saved it in fotoflexer.

Close the fotoflexer application after you save the photos and then try to view the photos edited in Windows Live Photo Gallery.

If the problem persists, you can remove (delete) the photos published of fotoflexer and then make a folder and paste and he discovers via the Windows Photo Gallery.
