  Not tried in a long time, but earlier versions of ID could open Quark 4 files, and I think that's always true. No version ID, however, can open Quark 5 or later without a plugin.

  One option: Contacts open and select contacts you want (or select A command for everything). Open numbers and drag Contacts to the numbers.

  Suppose I have 250 files, all need correction lens (and perhaps other current settings) in a fundamental first step.  I would like to be able to record an action that opens (1) my NEF file cab; (2) makes the lens correction, given the characteristics of the particular objective, I used; 3 [other tweak - say the noise reduction]; (4) [another tweak - say the color temperature]; and then (5) close the file generate nothing but the .xmp file.

  Then when I go to work on each file, all my basic fixes were made for when I reopen it later in ACR, I did that to make custom changes before finally opening in Photoshop.

  I tried a few things, scanned the forums, check the online Help Center, through some Adobe TV tutorials, but I can't understand how do.

  Any help?

  No.... Action is something that record something in Photoshop. Yes, an Action can save the settings of the cab... but need to eventually open the image in Photoshop and it will make the file.

  What you really want to do is to examine the first camera presets and their use in bridge. Open a representative image, set the image, save a preset and then apply it to as many images as you want in Bridge. Also note, you can open multiple images in ACR, select them and adjust several images at once. You can also adjust an image in Bridge, copy the settings from one file and paste to others.

  A lot of how to accomplish what you want, but not really by the Photoshop Actions.

  SWF is not intended to be an editable format. It is a 'final' format, generated by the publication of a FLA file. If you want to change the SWF files, you must obtain the FLAS they were fired.

  I have instructions for actions in pdf files. Trying to make a script that opens a specific folder in OS x Finder (/ applications/Adobe Photoshop CS6 / Instructions / FileNameHere).

  Is this possible. An alternative is to have only the script go to the finder and show the folder. Or if its possible also opens all files in this folder (but maybe that's not necessary if it is difficult)

• InDesign CS6 crashed shortly after opening a file

  I searched the web to answer this but have had no luck. I recently opened a file that was working fine but suddenly does not open. I opened the file INDD CS5 and decided to try the CS6 to see if it would work.

  Here's my process.

  1. I open the file
     
  2. 7 seconds after the file opens, I get the message "Adobe InDesign CS6 has stopped working"
     

  I am sure that it is a matter of link of image or a police problem, but he invites not to replace fonts or find the images.

• Cannot open file .indd suddenly!

  I have a large file that has been opened very well for weeks. It's 300 pages and an .indd file. I tried to open this file backup copies and zero with the same file name opens. I tried to open the file on another computer, and it still not open.

  I opened the other versions of the file (different file name) and other independent files without problem. I opened the largest files without problem. I think some how this file is corrupted.  I get a message when I try to open it says that: indesign can't open * .indd. "I just made a few changes that will have a huge amount of time to do it again so I would get this file open somehow. I have a recent .pdf file, maybe I could import that?  If it is anyway to at least print a copy without actually opening it.

  All this happened when I decided to create a book file where I put this file and then add a table of contents, another front pages glossary and index. I've been avoiding this step, but thought this would facilitate bringing in everything together without creating a huge file.

  Before moving on to the next step, I've saved a copy of the original file on another hard drive.  Then I put the book and when I tried to put my original file in the book that he had failed. After that I couldn't open one of my recent backups saved with the same name on other hard drives. I have three.

  What happens if I try to change the name of the file before opening it, because I think it has something to do with trying to get into the book file? Possibly trying to change the designation to .indb .indd file?

  Basically, you got lucky.

  The lock file is automatically generated by InDesign and cannot be bypassed or removed while the file is open. It's there to prevent two users to have the same file open at the same time. Under the normal circumsstances, it is automatically deleted when the associated file is closed.

  Once, I saw this same error with a file stored on a network of desertrosa and was able to retrieve the same way. Basically, your original is probably somehow corrupted and now useless. It is possible, even likely, since you do not have a lock file, it is not a problem of lock file at all. Once you save the copy and no connection between different document files lock files, there is no relationship between the original and the copy. You should be able to work safely with the copy, but I highly recommend that you keep local while working and only switch to a network after you save, if you want to network storage.

  You need to right-click on the file and open it with Pages 5.x (the one with the orange document icon).
