  There are changes in CS4 that could in some cases allow you to get away with things that you couldn't in CS3, especially to do with going a frame and try to do something to an object that exists now on this image. Error 1009 is what happens if you try to use something that does not yet exist. I guess it's possible that because CS4 is preferable to the use of objects in the new framework, it may have triggered a problem that CS3 would not have triggered.

  Anyway, first thing you could try is updating the recent 10.0.2. Which fixed a large number of questions and can improve things for you:

• Updated since SC6 to CC 2014 with CS4 Extension

  I recently upgraded from Adobe CS6 2014 CC. I had a custom extension for DW CS4 installed and operating at the CS6. When I converted the mxp file to a zxp file and then tried to install the zxp to 2014 CC file, I received an error message stating «the extension cannot be installed, there are Dreamweaver version CS4 b.11.11.» I obviously have CS4 or higher. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

  We have fixed this a few weeks on our own after that we have not received any response here. We realized that the mxp file is just a file updated the zip. We were then able to extract the files and modify the mxi contained in our taste. Then, we pack up the file again and used the CS6 Adobe Extension Manager to export the file to zxp. It seems to work. • CS4 on Windows 8-computer problems?

  I bought CS4 (Web Premium) on disk (of Adobe) several years and it works very well on my Win XP computer since then. Adobe software has all the updates, even if I use the version CS4 of Acrobat Pro (9.xx) rather than a newer version (free) Reader.,.

  Unfortunately, my hard drive was fried, and I just bought a new machine of Windows 8, which will arrive shortly.  I am trying to determine:

  1 are there general problems with installation of CS4 on 8 win I should know in advance?

  2 are there specific procedures (deactivation?) that I need to follow before you perform the installation on the new computer?

  3. other specific user questions, is there any problems with CS4 compared to Windows 8, I would meet with Windows 7.

  Thank you, Jeff.  I was unable to find a specific forum for CS4 or CS4 Web Premium, only the various programs it contains. It does not seem appropriate to publish the same query in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, bridge, Fireworks, Soundbooth, Illustrator etc etc. I expect to pointer/advice/warning about installing the entire Suite.

  I am aware of the official line of Adobe on "never been tested", and I understand that. Although I have heard many stories of horror on the web, my Advisor computer make sure that there is no reason for a 64-bit operating system cannot run a 32-bit program (not the other way around though). My product is properly registered, and there are reports successful Win 8 facilities/operations machines. I am hoping for the best and will definitely post here if there are installation problems, or it goes well.  Thanks again.

  OK, I have in all the years I have owned never used CS After Effects product but decided it was time to give it a go.  Now that I want to use it, I realize that it is not yet installed on my computer.  I checked the original installation disc and it not even shows up as an option for me.  Is there a version of CS4 that you don't have AE in or something?

  What is "CS"? AE is included in the Master Collection and Production Premium, but not in the suites of Web and Design, then maybe you don't have one of these?

• Flash CS4 plug for table swf?

  Hey everybody.  Does anyone know if there is a Flash CS4 free plug-in that creates a table of swf that loads external swf in order and can control the script without having to mess with Actionscript?  I don't know yet what to put in Google looking for such a plugin.

  Right now, I have a table like that.  I got the code from some very helpful people here.  I still don't understand most of the code, however, so I'm wondering if a plug-in could do the same work as Actionscript.  I have the code for my Flash file in another thread of discussion, and I'm trying to get my file to stop looping SWF when it reaches the end of the array.  If anyone is curious to see the code, I want to talk or if they know how to solve the problem of the loop, here's the link to this thread:

• Difference of tests in CS4, and on the Web

  I am loading an external XML file with ActionScript 3.0 in Adobe Flash Professional CS4. When I test the .fla CS4 (ctrl/enter), it does not load correct .mp3 files in two of the six cases. Yet, when I download the file on the Web and test it, it works correctly. Is there some setting in CS4, I'm missing?

• Windows 7/CS4

  Hi all

  The computer lab where I taught Fireworks CS4 upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 Enterprise (32 bit).  I am running CS4 on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (fireworks in compatibility mode on this system.)  All systems have been installed upgrading and are evidence of 10.0.3.011 version.  All systems have at least 4 GB of RAM.

  In any case, I have serious problems with CS4 programs.  Example of problems with Fireworks: when you try to use the Lighten / Darken, it is impossible to change the option Inspector properties (midtones, highlights dark tones).  By clicking just doesn't "take."  If, however, I click an option, and then click the selection tool, THEN go back to the Lighten / Darken, the option I've tried to change is the one showing in the PI.   Some computers also experience intermittent crashes (internal occurred).  On a single system, Fireworks crashed more than 20 times in a single class period.  This does not work on all systems, I'm willing to chalk that up to a possible hardware problem, but the Tools doesn't work does not correctly arrive on ALL of the above Windows 7 systems.

  I read that the CS5 'fixed' a bunch of questions.  If this is the case, is there a patch for CS4?  The school just updated CS4 in December, and the crisis of the budget, CS5 is a long way in the future.

  I have not tried to run CS4 in virtual Windows XP mode on Windows 7.  Is anyone else who has tried, and it helped?

  My students do not feel good in Adobe right now. I spent about 10 hours of research on these issues, so if I missed an obvious link, or if anyone has any experience to share, I would be very grateful.

  Yes, it works with both. In my view, that it has been recently updated to be compatible with CS5. The road has been around for more than a year.

  My main use of CS5 has been with Fireworks, and it's a leap to the top of CS4. I use Dreamweaver and Photoshop as well. Other that find Dreamweaver a bit slow at times, I have not had any other problems with it. But I don't use it nearly as much as I use Fireworks.

  Adobe products are a main stream, a standard set of industry products. Are there problems? Sure. All software has issues IMO. But these products are those that employers tend to ask / wait in terms of employee experience. If your students are freelance, customers don't care what they use to get the job done, as long as it is done and meets the expectations of the customer. But full time employers will want to know they're comfortable with the software used by this company, and in many cases, this means that Adobe products.

  You did not write the software, so your credibility should not be affected, and if your students act in this way, shame on them.

  Maybe talk to your IT Department and get them to do testing - see where/when failures occur. It would be not just wrong Adobe software - it could be drivers, hardware, even other software. There is an excellent chance that do some testing could improve stability.

  The only other answer (not necessarily a bad function finance student) is to search individual products that do the required work. There are many publishers of web page out there, a lot of graphics applications. They may (or may not) have the same feature set as the range of Adobe products, but they can be a more affordable alternative at least at the beginning. But as I said, employers tend to have if expect that employees will be comfortable with the products of current principal.

  When I initially, there is a Photoshop cs4 and a photoshop cs4 (64 bit). You should have the same thing. Photoshop cs4 is 64-bit, but they also included a 32-bit version for people not yet functioning under 64 bit os. If you do not have in your Start menu, you may have a problem in your installation.

• Trouble installing CS5 Design Premium - please help a novice!

  It is almost impossible for me, someone who is new to MAC in general, to understand what is happening with my system. But I learned a little through online searches and the suppory community. Ultimately no part of the entire program was already installed on my computer. Is there someone you could ask to help me. I have problems of the research on the specific error code, which I believe is where I find my answer. Most of the information I could dig up is outdated, dating back many years and does not apply (unless I'm missing something).

  I'll also post this information to the community and you send another link (updated). If you could pass it on to someone who could help me to analyze the logs... Errors, I would be grateful. My work pile up!

  Support I was called last night and offered little assistance and asked me nothing about my system or errors that occurred, telling me that the problem I feel is caused by the server updated adobe plug-ins for only support CS6 essentially making obsolete the CS5. I find this hard to believe since my fiance just to install the other licence (I bought 2 licenses) successfully, the first test, only 2 weeks ago. I tried to install on my system since then, nothing helps.

  To access your library of root, file, complete the following steps:

  1. Go to the Finder
  2. Use the Go menu and select folder.
  3. Type of/Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers

  If you want you can keep both CS6 and CC apps installed on your computer, but I suggest you to uninstall CS6 if you do not plan to use it.

  You will be able to open your old project CS6 files in CC apps without any problem.

  Adobe will present only now new features and upgrades through the creative cloud.
