Is there a Microsoft under Roaming folder normally?
Found several viruses in this folder.
My \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies contains 1062 files, which are all plain text files. They are safe.
To reassure extra, you can also install the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware & run it now and run it then still occasionally when you want [on the entire system or only on folders or files]. Its existence does not preclude your anti-malware application normal such that it only actually works when you say deliberately to do a scan.

Microsoft Paint - Image is normal on screen but prints too small?
Microsoft Paint - Image is normal on screen but prints too small?
When I'm in the paint all my settings are the same that I use always and my image appears normal size on the screen but when I go to print I put it on the scale to fit on page 1 x 1 (so it's all about a piece of paper), but then I have print preview and the image is just a 1-inch picture in the upper left corner. I had done several times in the past and never had a problem. Why does the image offset? Also when I remove the scale down to 1 x 1 page it can tile the image on 4 pages. So if the image is the great whys it shrinks it do much when I as a single piece of paper? Help!Go to the options of paint by clicking on the top left of the menu bar icon (the one to the left of the 'Home' that looks like a sheet of paper lined w / an arrow next to it). Choose 'Properties' from the menu drop down. Keys to your measurements of paper (ie. 8.5 x 11 "or 8.5" x 14) depending on the direction you have chosen - portrait or landscape (under print options: Page layout) which should solve your printing problem. Unfortunately, the program seems to use some default preset every time that you open the Paint program. That's how I came across your question; I'm trying to find how to change the default setting. During this time, I guess that we just have to continue to change it before printing.

How will I know when a PDF doc was created originally that there is nothing under file/properties
Hi David,
Generally, it appears in the document properties window in Acrobat (as illustrated in the following snapshot).
However, if the sender/author has deleted the pdf metadata then there are chances that original file creation date is not displayed.
Kind regards

According to my question in the title above... Tab file types... Why is it (NO) next to audio CD, disc, DVD, and a little more such elements as the folder of file, folder and to allocate to the Protocol.
Reason why I ask this is I just do a fresh install of Windows XP with SP2 and I installed SP3 after that on an old computer that was in need of a new facility. I continued to get the AutoPlay window I went to the CD and DVD players and set everything to TAKE NO ACTION. I wonder if I made a mistake by doing this. I was half way tempted to do the same for drive C, but I did not. Is there something I can do to correct what I do that I should not have?
Also, I noticed that my computer is really slow now and it was not before.
How can I find other positions that have posted here on Microsoft Answers?
Thank you

The [NONE] you're referring to means that there are has file extensions associated with things such as Audio CDs, disks and DVDs.
A "file extension" is the 3-(4-parfois) part of a file name that comes after the period character. For example, in "Document.doc" file extension is doc.
Made settings were - as you noted correctly - in the AutoPlay dialog box. These settings determine what Windows does when a removable storage device is connected. Depending on the type of multimedia content detected on the device, you can choose from a variety of "Manipulative Autoplay" to deal with this content.
"Take no action" is not a bad default.
If you want to change your mind, open my computer and right-click on the icon for a CD/DVD/USB device and select the tab "Autoplay". You can choose from a variety of types of "content" and then choose which application should open. For more flexibility, TweakUI--> http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-xp or see

Also, I noticed that my computer is really slow now and it was not before.
A number of things could happen here.
Have you installed all necessary drivers after you reinstalled Windows?
Have you installed an antivirus application before connecting to the Internet?
Have you applied all post-sp3 Windows critical updates before you begin to surf the Internet?
Did you uninstall the trial versions of software antivirus which have been replaced (unless your new Windows installation was a "clean install")?

Why is there a progress under my download folder bar?
My Dock is on the left side of my desk. There is a black line, which looks like a progress bar, between my file downloads and the Apple - Mac OS X (Earth) icon in my Dock. He has been there for a day or two. and, it does not change when I empty the downloads folder.
Try dragging the icon in your dock, then put it back. Which removes the black line?

Need to change the name of the administrator under the folder of the user account
I just got a new HP laptop with Windows Vista 64 SP1. My friend who got the laptop I use a nickname that I hate it when he set up the computer for which it was not supposed to do in the first place. I went to the section control panel user accounts control and changed the name of the administrator account. I have only the administrator account on my computer with the guest account. That part worked.
My problem is that, under C:/Users / (username), it still shows that hated nickname. I want to change the name of this folder, but cannot understand how or if it's possible. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance
As you have discovered, you cannot change a user account by simply changing the name. That will be a change cosmetic only and none of the files/folders real profile will be changed. Follow the instructions below to fix things to your liking and to implement correctly under Vista user accounts.
1. create the new user account (named as desired) as a * standard * (not administrator) account and at least one additional account with administrative privileges. Call the extra account 'CompAdmin', 'Tech' or similar.
2. Enter the new user account once if the profile files are created, and then disconnect and then connect to CompAdmin.
3. go in Control Panel > system > advanced > user profile > settings
4. you will see where you can copy user accounts. Copy the misnamed old account to the new name correctly there. Use her browse to select your new account (C:\Users\newaccount). If you don't want to copy all the settings, and then instead simply navigate using the old user, music Explorer Windows Documents, etc. and copy the data to the new user folders.
5. connect to your new correctly named user account. When you are sure to have what you need, you can delete the misnamed control panel user account > accounts to users if you wish.
General information about configuring users in Vista:
You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is an OS multi-user with system built-in accounts such as administrator, by default, all users and guest. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.
In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult. It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but it will take third-party tools and work outside the operating system.
The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. If your normal user account is an administrator, having created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.
If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:
Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UACUncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

Prior to Win7 and Vista (seems to have the same problem), make a right click on a file would produce a drop down menu containing SENDTO containing various options like send this Word file, or write or Adobe or desktop (make a shortcut). Other options of destination could be added by finding and opening the SENDTO folder and dragging shortcuts in there. These added destinations would appear then in the menu drop down click the right button. The feature doesn't seem to work in Win7. The SENDTO drop contains the locations that are not in the SENDTO folder. I've renamed the SENDTO folder to see what would happen. Always in the same places appear in the menu dropdown. It seems that Win7 has a situation he's going to other than the SENDTO folder. Interestingly, I can add some program shortcuts in the SENDTO folder and they will appear in the drop-down list, others do not like the trash. There are items in the drop-down menu are not in the SENDTO folder. Help Help
Click on the round of Windows (start), type shell: sendto and hit enter, add or remove shortcuts. Is it now behave properly?
I forgot to post the location of SendTo folder, it's C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

Free space on the C drive. How big should the Windows folder (normally) be?
I have a HP desktop with a 90G hard drive for drive C with 74G of real ability. Drive C is now available 1.02 G.
I've already moved all documents on an external drive to free up space and I have more left to move. The Windows folder has 54G with 35253 files and 3437 files. I have Disk Defragmenter and disk cleanup which reduces the Windows folder by less than 1 G.
What is 'normal' for Windows size, if there is such a thing? How can I make smaller windows? I have no idea of what files are in the windows can be deleted. Any ideas?
Thank you!
This is not true.
The %windir%\system32\spool\PRINTERS file is supposed to contain jobs waiting to be printed. This is the print spooler.
This suggests two things: either you have malware files in that folder (which seems unlikely), or you send print jobs to a printer to be connected to your computer, but now is not. When you realized that a job does not print, you re - sent to the correct printer.
In all cases, follow these steps, which will empty this folder (and make your system perform better).
A. Clean on print jobs pending
- Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
- Type the following in the black command prompt window, and then press ENTER after each line
net stop spooler
del/q '% windir%\system32\spool\PRINTERS\*.* '.
net start spooler
outputOnce you do this, go to printers and faxes and uninstall all of the printers that you no longer need... and remember that the default printer (the one with the box) is the one which is effectively connected to the computer.

BACK orders: How to list the files only in all subfolders; under the folder location
Currently, when I output list file I get the full path. For example:
c:\users\test\text1.txt
I want a list of all files in subfolders only less folder of the file location:
Text1.txt
What controls to use DOS?
Thanks in advance.
BACK could not do this. It was not advanced suffiently. Fortunately for you, the last we saw back was 15 under Windows Millennium Edition. We now have the Windows Console. There is no BACK on Windows 7, but the Console is much smarter that BACK than ever. The following batch file will do what you want (although I wonder what could be the object):
off @echo
for /F "delims =" % in (' /ad /s dir / b') do dir / b "%%a\*.txt" 2 > 0If you prefer to type so you can type this command instead:
for /F "delims =" %a in (' dir/ad/b/s") @dir / b"%a\*.txt"2 > 0

Hello, I recently tried deletion of the infamous gorilla of my computer program. I went into Safe Mode to remove it properly. I removed the program under the "Program Files (x 86)" folder first, until I removed it from the "Program Data" folder. Now the program does not appear in the "Program Data" folder, and price of the gorilla is still installed on my computer. I really, REALLY want this formidable program removed from my computer. How to remove all items in the download under bookmark folder in the shortest time?
I understand that all downloads from the internet and yahoo/google mail are stored in the "Download" folder I bookmarked when I want to delete. I think that if the download folder is never empty, then my mac will slow down. So I want to remove these downloads that I've seen. How can I remove all THE items in the shortest time? Deleting items, even in groups, takes a long time. Is there a method I can use so that all the items in the folder are deleted in one fell swoop?
Thank you.
UngujaYes, it worked. Thank you very much.
