  I suggest, however, that you not install NTBackup, but rather get a cloning/disk imaging application.  What follows is not free, but you get what you pay for.  NTBackup has some limitations (on the one hand, you cannot use NTBackup to backup to the optical media).  NTBackup also is not used in Vista or Windows 7, but after much kicking and screaming, Microsoft made a utility to restore NTBackup for Vista and Win 7 for computers with these operating systems could at least read BKF files created by NTBackup.

  I would like to know why when my console OME tells me that there is a more recent version catalog available, and after that I downloaded, I have no new updates.   If I've understood your problem, try this. Create a shortcut to "soundrecorder /file outputfilename.wav" (without the quotes).

  Then start soundrecorder via this shortcut and start and stop the recording, it will save so (hopefully) as a wav as before.

  I think the problem is, W7 soundrecorder, by default, saves to wma.

  If not, try a 3rd free part program such as Audacity (which seems like overkill, but should do the job).
