I bought this product not last week, with the operating system "Windows vista business edition" and once I opened the package, I was surprised to see that the operating system is only for 32-bit processors.

and since I know that the core2duo processors are 64-bit, I contacted the seller who said that this product is only 32-bit, and the evidence is the copy of windows that comes with it.

Well well... even if the support does not include windows 64-bit for my 64-bit processor, I need the drivers for my laptop to install any version of windows, so I tried the restore CD that did not contain the information of any driver, but an entire image for windows Vista.

Why surprised? Toshiba has never pronounced for laptop with 64-bit OS; With Win XP 64-bit or Vista 64-bit.
Of course, the CPU might be able to handle the 64 bit OS, BUT he also manages the Windows 32-bit operating system!

As already said, the Vista 64-bit version is not exist on Toshiba laptops and so 64-bit drivers are not available.

    Hi all

I'm looking to confirm drivers that need to be used when upgrading a custom install of Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit

My system is a Pavilion a6109n is a 64-bit system

I use vista 64-bit drivers that are the only drivers 64-bit available?

Again something I do not have the HP disk I bought directly at retail.

    Hi MsRoboto,

Your Vista drivers will probably not work. Some of them might, but probably not worth the hassle of trial and error. Since you use complete installation of operating system Microsoft, you would probably be to wipe out all of your existing software and data, particularly since you're going OS 32-bit to 64-bit. Then save info all important first.

Here are the links for Win 7 drivers, you will probably need:

    Chipset

Audio (accept any agreement from Realtek, click Next and then download Win 7 version).

You will also need to find applications such as a DVD player and disc burning utilities. After you upgrade if something does not work well, tell us in the forums and we can help find other drivers or software that you need.

    For reference, here's your specifications.

Are there really no chance to obtain the 64-bit drivers for Go 7900GS?
I need 64-bit version for my development work ;(

As you know, Toshiba does not support and does not own notebooks with the 65-bit operating system. Or with Vista with XP.
That's why the Toshiba 64-bit drivers are not exists!

I'm looking for drivers for Vista 64 bit for the:

    SM2173ALD07 - software modem Dial-up

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A100-049 and that you can find the 32-bit drivers. I managed to find 64-bit drivers for pretty much everything (No. with Toshiba). Thank you.

PS - I have not yet installed Vista 64-Bit, so do not know if the 32-bit drivers (so they can be more software than drivers) will work but they can't imagine.

It turns out that Windows 7 x 64 drivers for this built, by using Windows Update.

  • My OS is Vista 64 bit, it works well. Can I install a 32-bit version of Vista that can run alongside my existing 64 bit version.

My OS is Vista 64 bit, it works well. I have a scanner that connects to the pc via a scsi card, the card I have will not work under a 32-bit version. I could buy a 64 bit version of the map, but it is an expensive exercise, I can install a 32-bit version of Vista that can run alongside my existing 64 bit version.

    Hi Paul,.

No, you can not install the 32-bit version of Windows to the sides of the 64-bit version. However, you can have a configuration dual boot (32-bit on a partition and 64-bit on another). In this case you will need two licenses, a license being dedicated to a facility only.

If you have read the information above it on this site Web, the offer is for a license of Vista at RETAIL .

Your Dell preinstalled vista is an OEM license and is NOT eligible for this offer.

If you want 64-bit Vista, you will need to buy it.

  • I have Windows Vista 64 bit, but I need to use a 32-bit software

I have a new computer with Windows Vista 64-bit and I need to use a program he wrote in 32 bits. The computer maker refused to get off my computer to Windows Vista 32 bit. They offered me to return my new computer (keep restocking fees) and buy an older version of the computer that is also 64-bit, but they are allowed to downgrade it. This 32-bit software is vital for me and now I'm stuck with this useless computer.

      Can I run 32-bit programs on a 64-bit computer?

Most programs designed for a computer running a 32-bit version of Windows running on a computer running 64-bit Windows versions. The notable exceptions are many antivirus programs, and some hardware drivers.

Drivers designed for 32-bit versions of Windows do not work on computers running a 64-bit version of Windows. If you try to install a printer or other device that only has 32-bit drivers available, it won't work correctly on a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't know if there is a 64-bit driver available for your device, go online to the Vista Compatibility Center"" href = "http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=142444" > Windows Vista Compatibility Center

  • What can I reinstall/upgrade Vista Ultimate OEM 32 bit Vista Ultimate 64-bit using the upgrade CD that I bought?

Please help me with the steps I must follow to upgrade/reinstall my Vista Ultimate OEM 32 bit Vista Ultimate 64-bit.  I bought the upgrade CD, but I keep reading that I can't upgrade, I have to re - install.  How do, or have I just wasted my money?

    Thank you

    David

The two DVD come in the box of Vista Ultimate.  The same upgrade key works for both.  The procedure is to let the 32-bit version on the hard drive for the verification of license and a custom installation will work.  The hardware hash will be the same and the product key is the same for the activation servers to happen anyway as a repair installation.

On a 32-bit vista business system, what is the right way to recover from a damaged NTLDR file that prevents the system from booting?

Also, is there a powerful device filled, utility like Winternals Windows PE boot, I can download for the resolution of problems like this and others?

    Thank you in advance!

Have you had a glance at this startup repair disk?

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
