JS CS4: Changing the size of a selected rectangle

Hi all

I can get my size to my selection with:

var f = app.selection [0] .geometricBounds;
myWidth = app.activeDocument.selection [0] .geometricBounds [3] - app.activeDocument.selection [0] .geometricBounds [1];
myHeight = app.activeDocument.selection [0] .geometricBounds [2] - app.activeDocument.selection [0] .geometricBounds [0];

myDimensions = [myWidth, "', myHeight]
Alert (myDimensions);

I came not with the code to adjust the size. I want to ruduce the width by. 5 "and the height of. 25 ".

I still do not fully understand the OMV in terms of finding properties and how to code. Advice will be greatly appreciated.

John

Assuming that you already have your dimensions the value in inches:

var f = app.selection [0] .geometricBounds;

GB [2] = f [2]. 25;

[3] go is Go [3]-. 5;

App.Selection [0] .geometricBounds = GB;

Now, this gives an incorrect result, if the selection has been skewed or rotated and it only takes into account the point of proxy, but that should help you get started.

Keep in mind that you should always write an array of four values to the geometric boundaries. You can not write to individual members of the property.

  • How can I change the size of a selection list?

    Hi all

    I know it's probably a beginner questiopn, but I spent some time in train and we have come to the forum to watch and found that nothing related to it.

    I m using apex 3.1, and I would like to know in what part of the question, I set its size, in the case of a selection list where I put its size?
    HTML I would like this:

    -----------------HTML CODE--------------------------

    < select size = "18" class = "bigselect" >
    < option > map 1 < / option >
    < option > map 2 < / option >
    < option > map 3 < / option >
    < option > map 4 < / option >
    < / select >

    -----------------HTML CODE--------------------------

    I've tried these and nothing:

    Attributes of HTML table cells

    Attributes of the Form HTML element <-this one says I can t set id and size in

    Shape element Option attributes

    Thank you and best regards

    Hello

    I misunderstood the first time :)

    It seems that the APEX is automatically affecting the SIZE 1 attribute when you create a list to select. I don't know if you will be managing change this value before the page is rendered. But if it's really important for you, maybe, you can change this attribute after the page is rendered using javascript.

    Add this function in the page header section:

    Then on the same page, insert the following code in the Page HTML Body attribute:

    onLoad="setLovSize();"

    I hope this helps.

  • change the size of the document in Illustrator CS4

    Hello

    How can I change the size of a document in Illustrator CS4?

    Seems a simple question, but I can't find the answer...

    I looked in the document in place (in CS2 I change it here)

  • Change the size of the text in a label symbol

    FW CS4 - Mac

    Question in two parts:

    1 I barely started using the excuse today so many Fireworks which is probably a simple question but I can't find a range of dialogue of type style in Fireworks - I have implemented a couple of character styles and am changing the size of the type on the label (option Mac button) I just placed the common library - I chose the type in the section "label" "Symbol properties" Panel but it does not seem to change the font or point size. The type of label style is editable?

    2. When you arrive at this in InDesign, it's quite different! Can anyone recommend a training video that uses one through the process of designing a site in FW and then "export" (if that's what you're doing) to DW CS4? I hope it's worth persevering with FW and not only go back to InDesign or Illustrator to produce visual design, but worry when I saw a video earlier which stated: "the current best practices for web design essentially exclude this option to export as a viable method to create a Web site, but exporting HTML and Images is incredibly valuable in a prototyping perspective...". »

    Thank you very much.

    If you simply click on the button in the properties panel there is an entry for the button label box. But click the button twice to get the button Edit window, and then select the text object, and you should have the elements of normal text object in the properties panel. Since I'm on Windows, the font name was empty in the drop-down list box, but I could click it to select one of my installed fonts.

    If you press the button, you have the properties of the button. You must enter the lower level when you change how the button is set up to get the individual items.

  • Slide presentation - CS4 - change Document size.

    Hello

    I just tried (several times) to change the size of the document (via Edit |) Document) of a FLash slideshow.

    I do not add images, or what that what else that select a new presentation & then try to change the size. It crashes with a runtime error... R6025-pure virtual function call.

    I did a little research on Google and it seems that other programs have this problem and it is due to various reasons, if none I think particularly applies to me. (Seems to be clearly Windows problem, no Flash).

    I tested it in Flash CS3 running on XP - and it works very well. I also tried CS4 under Vista for other types of Flash (Flash (Actionscript 2.0) and that worked fine. It just seems like CS4, (?) Vista) & Flash Slide presentation. Unfortunately, I can't test either CS3 on Vista, or CS4 on the XP one machine.

    I also find that I don't have Flash 8 still on the Vista computer, & who is allowing me to change the size of the document in a slide show.

    What is a known error, or my computer plays so-and-sos stupid?

    Emma

    Please make sure that you update Flash (help > updates)-it's a known issue in the initial version which has since been resolved in the first update (you want the second as well for other corrections/improvements, 10.0.2).

  • Change the size of the Partition of drive on rMBP OS El Capitan

    Hello

    I have a rMBP with the latest OS and I have a 500 GB SSD. Currently I have 350 on my Mac and 150 GB on bootcamp. I have thought about this passage to 400 GB Mac and 100GB BC but avoided to do this because I've heard that I have to erase/reformat drive etc..

    I noticed however that there is a Mac disk utility program and there was an option to increase the size and the way it is worded, suggests that I select the size I wanted and press APPLY. This seems far too easy!

    I have attached a picture of the screen.

    It of just a matter of changing the size and apply it or am I too optimistic?

    Thank you

    It of just a matter of changing the size and apply it or am I too optimistic?

    You're being too optimistic.

    Unfortunately, to resize the Bootcamp partition, you must use the Bootcamp Assistant, delete this partition and recreate it for the size you want. In addition, you don't want to add another partition (split your OS X partition) while you have a Bootcamp partition. The plan of partition somehow gets messed up and you may not be able to start again under Bootcamp.

    To do what you want to do (OS X 400 score, 100 Bootcamp partition) you must:

    • Run the wizard Bootcamp and delete your current Bootcamp partition. That will give this free space in your OS X partition.
    • Run Bootcamp Assistant again and the size of this 100 GB partition and reinstall Windows. This will re-create your size of the Bootcamp partition and install Windows.
  • How to change the sizes of elements of array programmatically?

    Hi all

    I have a small question about changing the size of the elements in the array. I hope someone can help, because I am in a bind!

    I connect certain intensities of a range of fibers using a camera. For the calibration of the system, I gain a picture of the camera, click on the image points to divide it into areas of interest. I have my image to overlay with a grid indicating the areas of interests - for example a 4 x 6 picture. I then have to select fibers - or Kings - I want to connect from.

    I have a cluster type-def (a number and a Boolean value) to specify the number of fibers and to enable logging of this fibre power. I superimpose a (transparent) picture of this typedef on my image to correspond with the regions of interest. So here's my problem - I want to change the dimensions of the table for each control corresponds to my KING. I can resize the elements of law on the elements on the façade, but couldn't find a way to do it programmatically. The array property node > element of array > limits don't "change to write" it's the first thing I tried.

    Its only really important elements alignment with my Kings - so adding in the gaps/spacing programmatically would also work for me... goal again once I can't understand how to do this! I've attached a screenshot of part of my image with table superimposed to show you all exactly what is my problem.

    Thanks in advance for you help,

    Dave

    =================================
    The following free PowerToy for Windows XP
    can resize batches of photos very quickly:

    Go to the following link and download and
    install: ImageResizer.exe

    (Filename: ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe)
    (does not work on Vista).

    (FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
    Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Windows XP downloads - PowerToys
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/XP-downloads#2TC=featured
    (start with left click of the PowerToys column)

    When it is installed, you can open any file that
    contains images and you will have an option for
    Resize. Just right click the selected image files
    and choose resize images in the menu. You
    can select a picture or an entire group.

    The program will place the resized in copies
    the folder with your originals.
    (Tip: * never * overwrite your originals)

    To ensure that images in both portrait and
    landscape orientation are resized to the
    same dimensions... go to... Advanced...
    and enter the largest number in these two areas.
    IOW... for 600 x 800... Enter 800 in these two areas.

    IrfanView...

    It gets a bit more complicated than the PowerToy
    But yes, IrfanView can resize a batch of images.

    In Irfanview... go... File / Batch Conversion...

    Navigate to the appropriate folder and then select the
    you want to resize images...

    Click on the button 'Add '.

    If you want to resize all the images in the folder...
    Just click the button "add all".

    Now... "Batch converting" checked...
    Check... Using the Advanced Options and
    Click on the "Advanced..." button

    Check the field "resize".

    Enter the new size. If... for example... you
    want to 640 by 480... Enter as many
    in these two areas and be sure that "Preserve."
    Aspect Ratio' is checked. This way the
    many apply to the shorter
    dimension and your image format will be
    preserved.

    When increasing the pixel dimensions, audit
    the box... "Resample" can lead to
    in a better image quality.

    Click on... Ok...

    Choose a "Output Format".

    Choose a folder to save the new files in...

    Click on the button 'start '.

  • Is it possible to change the size of icons on the desktop?

    Is it possible to change the size of icons on the desktop? My computer crashed recently the only thing I could do was to reformat my hard drive and reinstall windows XP Service pack 3. Now I have these giant icons which cover half of my screen.

    Original title: the Windows desktop icons

    That has to have been the easy way, but...

    Right click on the desktop | Properties | Appearance | Advanced button. In the menu item drop-down select icon.  Change the size of the icons there.

  • How can I change the size of the desktop icons

    PC HP TouchSmart 520

    Windows 7 64 bit

    I can't change the size of the icons by right-clicking on the desktop.  There is no 'view' to change.  I have four items that appear; Graffiti, background, settings and Office Windows that changes the appearance of the office and did not have the carousel.

    It sounds like what you have on your screen is HP Magic Canvas and not Windows Desktop.

    Then, right click and select "Desktop Windows" to return to the real desktop. Then, if you want you can right click again and resize stuff.
