JumpStartKit installation hangs at 87% complete when creating the database / instance configuration

Hello people, I am wanting to evaluate Oracle WebCenter Portal 11.1.1.8 (huge improvement over 11.1.1.7, which I have already given a quick test in the VDI provided by Oracle).

So, I've discovered this Jump Start Kit that installs every needed part once you have a properly configured Linux environment. I had fun with the prereqs but now that everything is finished and I am so EXCITED to make it past 'STAGE 4 '.

So now, I encounter the same problem during installation - STEP 6 of 22 Configuration of the database Instance (creating database filling) it gets 87% complete and then nothing seems to happen, it never beyond this point, even if I wait 10 hours more:

***

NOTE: I think that my problem is not specific to the "Jump Start Kit", but is rather something others have met during the stage of creation/configuration of the Oracle Universal Installer in general database. And I hope that others have solved.

***

"/ opt/oracle/portal" is my INSTALL_DIR; I had started the installer of JSK with this command:

. / runme INSTANCE_PASSWORD textile ROOT_PASSWORD = rpwd DOWNLOAD_DIR = = / media/sf_Downloads/JSKfiles INSTALL_DIR = / opt/oracle/portal

-L' installer makes this well before it seems to get "stuck" - even after many hours there is no change, HD does nothing, CPU stays at < 5% use:

I use VirtualBox on Windows 7, I tried several times, first with the OS as Oracle Linux 6, then Oracle Linux 5 (learning to update the version of Java of fun!).

It always happens at the same point, and then it just seems do nothing - no progress, but no error no message on the screen (see below the log files). But it seems to use less than 5%... the use of the processor and 10 hours of waiting makes no difference.

After that I got tons of Google to search, I tried increasing my paging file, adding more memory and disk space (12 GB of RAM and 10 GB sap) and 20 GB of free space on the hard disk, but still nothing has changed.

In post #2 of this thread, I'll give you separately the registration details that I hope will be useful.

Thanks in advance!

Darren.

PS: Moderator, I tried to create this thread in other spaces, because I did not know this 'Portal JSK' specific one, which is why my son was rejected? NO REASON WAS GIVEN. If that IS the reason why, I must say that it will be almost impossible for anyone who is able to help me actually FIND this thread here because as I said I don't think specific for ONLY JSK portal. (But I'll post it here just in case this is the reason for previous releases)

Hey Darren -.

Installation with installation "office" is not the problem - no conflicting package it.

I did add a short and FULL in/etc/hosts domain name and use the HTTP_SERVER_NAME option.  (But again, that shouldn't cause any problems during dbca.)

I didn't install VBox extensions, since I'm just using a text installation (and created a corresponding configuration for VBox and vSphere), but I don't know that this is unrelated to all the.

Regarding packages, if the database installs fine (which did you), your packages may very well.

Here is my kickstart file - maybe you can try to use it, and then we can rule out configuration problems.  After the kickstart, everything I do is copy the installation files (in fact, I have them on a separate vmdk I just ride), and:

(in oracle)

CD/mnt/orainst/install & mkdir WCPortal_JSK_Linux.x 86-64 & WCPortal_JSK_Linux.x 86-64 cd & unzip /WCPortal_JSK_Linux.x86-64.zip...

CD /mnt/orainst/install/WCPortal_JSK_Linux.x86-64 &. / runme DOWNLOAD_DIR = / mnt/orainst/installation INSTALL_DIR = / u01/app/oracle/product/webcenter HTTP_SERVER_NAME = wcportal.localdomain INSTANCE_PASSWORD = weblogic1 BIENVENUE1 = ROOT_PASSWORD

If you want to make a desktop installation, delete the text, skipx and office packages (I added a few comments around that part), and it should work fine.  Don't worry about VBox extensions until you have a JSK running successfully.

Fingers crossed it gets you more... Let me know.

  • Win2k3 Server IIS SChannel event 36871 "a fatal error occurred when creating the SSL server credential information."

    To make a long story short, I went to use client software that I use a few times a week and it would not connect to the server, complaining not found or number of SSL.  When research various dcom, schannel errors errors in the event logs and a few others, I systematically over the last 24 hours cleared up the boot is so now clean (no time starting network on startup and no message on the service could not start).  It seems that something has happened a month ago after that the server crashed where at least the first DCOM messaged presented themselves, but everything has been working well until it didn't.  The dcom patches end up having to do with the ...\rsa\machinekeys (and the way that it) had a few "account unknown" in it, I cleaned everything that (at a time since I removed all items in this folder, but then put their subsequent return (by crushing all except 2 after creating a new certificate), had to reinstall virtual server and iis 6) , at some point as well.  In any case, I'm at the point where everything works (no event log errors/etc) from startup until you try to connect to the IIS 6 Server using https:... at this point, you get the event SChannel 36871 "a fatal error occurred when creating the SSL server credential information." (no additional information) is connected and the client browser cannot access the site (you can keep trying and it does not work but no event log entry more).  So that's where I'm sitting, http: works fine, https: No.  Certificate appears in the default Web site correct, said valid and possesses the private key, port 443 is there, all addresses by default, netstat shows port 443 same process id as the port 80.  I can't find a copy of SSLDiag do test to see if that prove something?

    So I need help what is not going to get this new job of fixing.  What should I do?

    Thank you!

  • Assignment of roles to the user when creating the user

    Hi all

    I gave a roll deposited (< dsp:input bean = "ProfileFormHandler.value.roles.role" maxsize = "30" size = "30" type = "text" / > on the registration page.) After registration, each field in db except role (table dps_role).
    Pls let me know what I am doing wrong.

    Thank you

    You should not assign roles to the user as 'ProfileFormHandler.value.roles.role' of 's profile. You can link formhandler property to which you can pass the name or id of the role that you want to assign role assignment must always route through safety ATG API in order to properly update the mappings of Homeland Security. Because of these dependencies, you should not try the role of simply call profile.setPropertyValue ('roles',...) The code cannot fail this way, but if you assign the role in this way then it may not work as expected when checking for role based privileges. Here's one possible way to do it:

    1. in your file properties formhandler declare a dependency on the directory of the default user, which by default points to the profile database:

    userDirectory = / atg/userprofiling/ProfileUserDirectory

    So, in the form Manager, you declare corresponding setUserDirectory() and getUserDirectory().

    2 then in the formhandler, get the DirectoryPrincipal objects associated with the user profile and the role you want to assign and then assign the role to the user:

    import atg.userdirectory.UserDirectory;
    import atg.userdirectory.DirectoryPrincipal;
    import atg.userdirectory.User;
    import atg.userdirectory.Role;
    import atg.userdirectory.DirectoryModificationException;

    import java.util.Collection;
    import java.util.Iterator;

    ..
    ..

    private boolean assignRoleToUser(String roleName, String userId) {

      UserDirectory userDirectory = getUserDirectory();
      DirectoryPrincipal userPrincipal = userDirectory.findUserByPrimaryKey(userId);
      DirectoryPrincipal rolePrincipal = userDirectory.getRoleByPath(roleName);

      User user = (User)userPrincipal;

      Collection collection = userDirectory.getRoles();

      boolean status = false;

      Iterator iter = collection.iterator();
      while(iter.hasNext())
      {
        Object obj = iter.next();
        if(obj instanceof Role) {
          Role role = (Role)obj;
          if(roleName.equals( role.getName() ) && user!=null) {
            try {
              status = user.assignRole(role); //will return true if the role was added otherwise false
            }
            catch (DirectoryModificationException e) {
           //handle exception
            }
            break;
          }
        }
      }
      return status;
    }

    In the code above 'roleName' parameter is the name of the role to be assigned to the profile with the id as "userId". If you want to do the role assignment when creating the user, then you can do the things above in postCreateUser() so that you can get the Principal associated with the profile. For more information about the interfaces and classes used here, you can refer to the documentation of the API of the ATG.

    Complete cleaning action

    Ah shucks!  I can't believe how far from the solution I was looking for.  Documentation has revealed what I had to do it even if it honestly should have probably been better treated with the best comments of the error.

    http://help.Adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/10.0/Admin/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cbf364104-7FD a.html

    "Note: when you add an Apache Derby Embedded data source, verify that the specified directory does not exist."

    Which is a bit ridiculous given a fileOpen dialog box is provided which means just the opposite.

    I came across this problem before CF 9 awhile back and I am surprised it is still hidden and I had forgotten about it.

  • DBCA cannot create the database in 12 c in Windows

    Hello

    After the installation of Oracle 12 c on R2 Windows Server 2012 and successfully running the netca command to configure the listener, I run with the DBCA tool question

    It throws an error message of "Recovery Manager could not restore the data files"

    I looked at the log files, here is some information:

    Corrupt block 1 found during the backup piece, reading file=C:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\12.1\DBHOME_1\ASSISTANTS\DBCA\TEMPLATES\SEED_DATABASE. DFB, corr_type = 4

    Review of blocknum = 1, file=C:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\12.1\DBHOME_1\ASSISTANTS\DBCA\TEMPLATES\SEED_DATABASE. DFB, found the same corrupted data

    Not sure if this helps, but I am attaching several log files to help debug the problem.

    I read the post DBCA cannot create the database in 12 c, but it doesn't quite have an answer.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Pranav

    Looks like a bad installation or a bad block on your disk. Have you tried creative using the "Custom Database" model in the wizard dbca (one that does not come with the data files)? It will take more time to create, but shouldn't read the dbca reported as corrupted file

    Suggestion. DBCA allows to generate the database model and use the option "+ Save as scripts + ' (no need to create the database).

    In the scripts directory, there will be a couple of shell and SQL scripts to create the database. Use them as your CLI model for the creation of a custom database. (I guess that DBCA works the same on Windows as it does on Linux).

    Another option, if you are using Oracle XE, is to copy ORACLE_HOME/bin/createdb.sh (probably a + .cmd on Windows) script and change for use. If you manually add non-XE features to the script (such as the installation of the Java virtual machine) If you want a database of SE or EE. (whereby DBCA scripts are a better answer).

  • Create the database with a set of characters

    While AL32UTF8 is certainly recommended for the Oracle database character set, use only, if your application provider has confirmed that their application will work with a set of characters to multibyte database.

    To create a database US8PC437 (it is rarely a choice, in fact) with DBCA 11.2, select the "character sets" tab, once shown, then select the option 'Choose from the list of character sets' and uncheck 'Show recommended only character sets '. This will add US8PC437 to the "Database character set" drop-down list. Select "US8PC437" from the list and continue the process of creation.

    But first, contact your provider and ask a compatible Unicode version of your application.

  • Cannot create the database error

    Hello all-

    I worked on a project in Robohelp7/HTML for about a week. I come today and try to open my project and the error message "unable to create the database. Check that the directory is not dead. ». I did what is obvious to check the folders and files to the breast and they are not marked read only. When I create a new project, I get the same error. I'm stuck at the stop and can't understand why Robohelp has decided to deny me access to my project or the ability to create new ones. I went so far as to uninstall and reinstall, nothing helps.

    If someone has encountered this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Something fundamentally wrong it if clown fish is to launch the same error.

    My inclination would be right for a uninstall and reinstall.

    If you have installed the patch, you can see RoboHelp 7.0.2. That uninstall and go back to add remove programs (ARP). Uninstall 7.0.1, and then go back to remove HR itself.

    When you reinstall, you need to apply the patch again.

    I have excluded firewall issues that you worked OK for a week. On the same basis, and because the clown fish up the same error, I have excluded on a network. I guess one last thing to try would be to create and reopening of a new project.

  • Create the database link

    Hi guys!

    I'm having problems creating a data link...
    I enter something like < IP >: < PORT > / < SID > in the SERVICE NAME field and the Assistant returns me error message.
    This structure for THE SERVICE NAME is correct?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    I think the nomenclature might be a little better. During create/edit the entry box is marked but the Service name in outdoor, HOMEtab, and in fact both are misleading.

    Looks like you want to use the format EZConnect [host: port / service name].
    http://www.orafaq.com/wiki/EZCONNECT

    Service_name is generally SID.domain, but you can get away with only SID since many products add the local domain name. It can work if you leave off of the area, but local and remote domain names are the same.

    It's really much easier to use a TNS alias if you have a local listener running with the appropriate entry in the tnsnames.ora file. Thus, for example, in my environment my sqlnet.ora file contains this line:

    NAMES. DIRECTORY_PATH = (TNSNAMES, EZCONNECT)

    My remote database THAT SID is ora1122 on, say, xyz1234567 to the remote computer and I have a TNS alias entry of the xyz1122 in my local tnsnames.ora file. Given these parameters, I am able to create the database to help link

    xyz1122

    or

    xyz1234567:1521/ora1122.us.Oracle.com

    Thus the first case depends on all: the local listener running, the tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora parameters. The second case only on rethinking the host, port, and service. And, in my environment, I actually couldn't give up the domain name. us.Oracle.com.

    I hope that this more detailed example is aid,
    Gary
