K4T90AV: How do I completely remove McAfee?

My computer came preloaded with McAfee protection.  I want to hae Windows Defender as my security and the firewall that comes with Windows 8.1.  How to completely uninstall McAfee so that I can activate the Windows Defender?  I tried to ask the response from the service to the customer and was directed to pay for a service provider.  I didn't ask any security software 3rd party when I bought this from HP directly by phone.

Hello

If you have already uninstalled McAfee since its entry in programs and features, try to download the McAfee Removal Tool on the following link and Save it in your downloads folder.

http://us.McAfee.com/apps/SupportTools/MCPR/MCPR.asp

One time downloaded, open your downloads folder, right-click on the tool and select "Run as Administrator" to start the process.

When it has finished, reboot the computer and let Windows load fully before checking if the Defender will now work.

Kind regards

    Hello, I will be getting a new 21 t AIO TouchSmart, HP Pavilion and to completely remove McAfee before I install another antivirus - program (have always had problems with McAfee and have had good success with another big brand).

    In the past with other PCs, it seems that even after I thought I had completely deleted McAfee, ("uninstall program") somehow at one time or another something associated with McAfee would jump to the top (can't remember what happened exactly - that was some time ago) and I could never completely remove!

    Any suggestions on completely removing? Will command the unit soon HP-

    is is possible that upon request they wouldn't install it before shipping?

    By chance is perhaps somehow part integral of the operating system/software so that it can never be removed completely?

    I'd appreciate any help! Thank you very much.

    You cannot claim that the software not installed McAfee antivirus. You can and should be able to completely remove your computer McAfee antivirus trial software after the installation. Please, see How to uninstall or reinstall products supported McAfee using the tool of Consumer Products Removal (Development) for instructions on uninstalling the McAfee software and using the Development to remove completely all traces of it.

    Thank you!

     */
    /* Bookmarks Toolbar - hide favicons/placeholders for sites, but show folder icons for menus */
    #personal-bookmarks toolbarbutton:not([type="menu"]) .toolbarbutton-icon {display:none !important;}

    The CSS from the other thread should work. But first, remove the - example of a file name. In order to operate, it must be named exactly userChrome.css without the - example.

  • Uninstalled game still displayed in the menu "Uninstall/Change Program." Directory of the game deleted as well. How do I completely remove it from the system?

    I uninstalled a game, and for good measure, I also deleted the game program files directory. Nothing is left... However, I find one more persistent "title game" in the menu "Uninstall/Change Program." How do I remove it completely?

    I would try using the Windows Installer Cleanup utility, which can be downloaded from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301. To install the tool, download and run as administrator.   Then, you must run the tool by clicking Start, typing Windows Installer Clean Up in the search field and clicking on the enter key.   Select the item you want to delete in the menu program uninstall/change, and then click Remove.    Click OK in the confirmation window.  It should work pretty quickly. Click on exit to close the tool.

    To learn more about this utility, read this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility.

  • Use of the BAT file - how do you completely remove 150 phones and their associated DNs?

    How do you remove completely 150 phones and their associated DNs? All phones are in the same pool of device. I prefer the way bat.

    The CUCM version: 8.6.2

    Type of phones: 7962 phones - associated with the same device pool.

    Other questions: is there a way to remove all phones and their associated DNs with elegance when all phones are associated with the same mass of device? I rather not work with extensions and MAC addresses.

    Thank you

    Hug Lupas

    Hello hug,

    Using the BAT, it will take 2 - passes. 1 for unassigned phones and 1 for "DN". This is well illustrated in the attached doc;

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/voice_ip_comm/CUCM/bat/8_0_1/bat-80...

    Of course for the DN you could remove through the road map report > unassigned DN > select all > delete

    See you soon!

  • How can I completely remove (not just disable) HP Smartprintbutton 1.0

    It cannot be deleted by any method I know. There is a newer version of this extension called HP Smart Print Version: 2.1.0.235. And it works very well. If I'm talking specifically of HP Smartprintbutton 1.0. The creator of Liu Zhen had a Web site that unfortunately no longer works, so no help there. I talked to HP support by phone but received no useful information.
    HP Smartprintbutton 1.0 causes no problems. And it is disabled, so I can just let "such what." But it made me start to think: suppose that there was a troublesome extension or addon that had to be removed. How would I go about this? I have here a general procedure to do? If this is not the case, a general method should not be provided? Better yet, how about a delete for all addons and extensions button! This could be a condition prior to their installation.

    Contact Microsoft - 'rules' for the registry are written by them. Firefox uses only what is there.

    IMO, it's the fault of all HP. They do a bad job of keeping this "Smart Print" request / Add on to date. I used Smart Print {all} from 2003 to 2009 and has seen that it stop working with an update that is not made available for many months at a time, even years. Their indifferent attitude on this 'free' request made me look at other brand printers when I needed a new. Free or not, when it comes with a new printer CD-driver pack and they don't keep up to date with their other drivers, as a consumer, I felt cheated or ignored. And their lack of drivers for Linux since too many years forced me to try brother as an alternative.

  • How can I completely remove windows xp pro network connection screen

    Several months ago, I bought a used computer. It is a HP Compaq apparently set on foot for the tuition fees online with K12.org. It came with any disks, and I had an awful time trying to get the login screen for the computer network without having to use it. I managed to find and disable the Client for Microsoft networks according to previous research, but the screen would still pop up. I used the forums for info I would need to get the thing to only us force hitting an "OK" button so that we would not enter a password every time. Now the screen, which allows to popup, will not be shown or only appears intermittently during startup and Windows shows "Starting Windows" and everything crashes and hangs without taking me to the "Welcome" screen

    This problem started last night. I'd really like to get this thing to use it without worry.

    Any help you offer is greatly appreciated.

    Hanging to the startup problem is certainly indicative of a larger problem.

    In your case, I highly recommend that you completely reinstall Windows on your machine.  Most of the HP/Compaq machines have a recovery partition which will reinstall Windows on condition "as-bought.  To access this, when you start and the first HP or Compaq startup screen appears, you should see at the bottom of the screen a touch that will put you in the recovery mode.  Press this button quickly because you don't have a lot of time.  Follow the prompts to completely wipe your hard drive and reinstall Windows.  (Make sure that you back up all of the necessary files first).  If you do not have this key, and then connect to the HP site and download the manual for your specific computer model.

    If you cannot reinstall Windows, then try a system restore to a point in time before that you had your boot-hanging problem.
