Keyboard on my satellite error - 'L' key seems to be stuck, forces logut

Hello I'm fixing a satellite phone with a keyboard error, the 'L' key seems to be stuck permanently down, except that it's not! Also by clicking on the button start requires the user to be disconnected and returned the the login screen.

The keyboard is very well, I checked and cleaned and he ran through a keyboard test program, I started the system by using restore dvd navigation of xp sp2 installation.

Updated the bios to the latest version of xp put, same error.

I restored using a different copy of xp sp2, same error.

I've also been to windows update (without clicking Start!) and checked to make sure that the laptop has had the latest updates (there) is not a problem of update, I also checked for viruses and the machine is clean.

If someone has had this problem or did someone knows how to solve. I don't want to not bin the machine because it is only two years old, but she seems to be a hardware error any in my opinion.

I have used some text here in a previous post on the closed forum that was not resolved so indeed I'm restarting, but I have the same problems-plus in my case disconnection forced by clicking Start.

Hello

For me, this looks like a keyboard failure.

A friend of mine had a similar problem with non-Toshiba notebook.
Finally, the technician changed the keyboard and the problem was gone.

I think you should just ask a Toshiba ASP, who is responsible for your country for a control and possibly replacement keyboard

I think this should help

  • Keyboard on my satellite error - 'L' key seems to be stuck

Hi everyone, I was asked to fix a satellite phone with a keyboard error, the 'L' key seems to be stuck permanently down, except that it's not! The keyboard is very well, I checked and cleaned and he ran through a keyboard test program, I started the system using a Linux live cd rather than the windows XP operating system, it already has in it.

In the live cd that we still get the same error, i.e. the "L" key continuously showing also depressed is not the driver, it takes the bios I think.

I've also been to windows update and checked to make sure that the laptop has had the latest updates (there) is not a problem of update, I also checked for viruses and the machine is clean.

It seems that you've tried everything that is possible to fix this. But without succeeding :(

It s time for a professional look by laptop technician. Maybe the entire keyboard needs to be replaced. Who knows?

  • Satellite Pro 4300 - keys pressed "automatically".

I have a problem with a series of Satellite Pro 4300 keys seem to have pressed automatically making me lose control of the computer frequently.
I thought it might me some virus or spyware, but I formatted and reinstalled the operating system and the problem continues immediately (even before you install any other software!).

I think it's a hardware problem, because sometimes, even when I turn on the computer, the message asking to press F1 to enter BIOS setup appears, and this message should appear only if the ESC key was pressed; also at this stage of startup no software has yet run.

Usually, I'm able to connect, use the computer for a while and then it seems to start by pressing the keys of way uncontrolled, causing the pop-up help windows, closing windows, I train, blocking certain keys etc..

Has anyone else had a problem like this?
Don't you think it's a hardware problem? Can you think of a solution to this?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

    HI Gustavo,

Really, it sounds like a problem with your keyboard. I recommend you only to contact a Service Agent to get the extract.

  • Satellite Pro A100: Keys to self-retaining post-split alcohol to the keyboard

    Hello

I recently shared Jack Daniels in my keyboard and now some of the keys have become
sticky - is anyway to jump keys on clean them?

My laptop is a Satellite Pro A100

    Thanks in advance,

    Matt

The key - caps are loose enough easy, you know how they are attached to the base.
Please be very gentle when you try it, especialy on your first key.

You will just need to lift the key (perhaps using your nails) of the left and right of the key,... a few seconds later, he's going to jump on you.

You can build your own tool, too. This is how the dedicated tool looks like:

Please keep in mind that some keys like SPACEBAR are very sensitive and have a slightly different mechanism.
Oh yes, one more thing. Please don't blame me if you break something... I've seen people hammering on their keyboard to remove dirt and were angry after they broke something.

    Best regards

    Good luck

PS Lucky it was just of Jack Daniels, Bacardi would be worse :D

  • Need to replace keyboard for my Satellite P200-1 a 4

Some of the keys don't work recently because of water damage.
If I start the laptop I get a beep for error and now I work from an external keyboard.
But my question is where can I get a new keyboard for my Satellite P200-1 has 4.

I can place the keyboard in me and I don t want to send my laptop
to treat because it can take weeks/months.

Is there some European/Dutch site that sells these products?

    Hello

You can either ask a [certified service provider | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/generic_content.jsp?service=EU&ID=ASP_SUPPORT] for the Partnumber or check [THIS | http://www.irisvista.com/tech/] site to discover the appropriate partnumber of the keyboard. Since you swamped the keyboard you wouldn still get part of some liquids guaranteed repair, so it doesn´t matter if you swap the keyboard by yourself.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite L850 - FN key is locked on

My laptop is a Satellite L850 as shown above, and my FN key seems to be locked on.

Whenever I press F3/F4 it will adjust the brightness of the screen and I have to hold down the FN key to use all functions F normally. I can't disable this option.
I just want to know if there is something that needs to be reinstalled or a combination of keys must be pressed?

    Thanks in advance.

    > Whenever I press F3/F4 it will adjust the brightness of the screen and I have to hold down the FN key to use > f works normally. I can't disable this option.
Use of the FN keys can be described as FN + Fx. With other words when you want to use a key to Fx YOU hold down fn to activate flash cards so your question is not understandable to me.
I put t understand what you want to disable.

  • Satellite C50D-B-120 seems to be slow

Has anyone else had problems with this laptop model?

Mine seems slow but on further review that this is indeed the parties stop and start intermittently and not all at once.

The keyboard and touchpad are more obvious because the cursor seems to stutter on and often typed letters do not appear on the screen for a few seconds.

WiFi also cuts out intermittently as well as Ethernet and other ports.

Also I tried to do a factory reset which takes no more than 20-25 minutes to write the recovery disk 'C' partition, but it takes more than 3 hours! This time does not include the implementation of the laptop after the reset.

What should I do with what it is unusable and only bought new at argos, 2 weeks ago.

Satellite C50D-B-120 seems to be equipped with 4 GB of RAM only...
I think an upgrade to 8 GB would be desirable.

Also the applications and the amount of the process that runs in the background can slow down the laptop and the system performance.

What you can try to do is to clean the system using CCleaner.
Also turn off some nonessential processes that start when the system starts.

  • How to redefine the keyboard of the Satellite M30X?

Can someone help me to redefine the keyboard of the Satellite M30X?

Unfortunately my mother tongue (i.e. Polish) widely uses the right Alt to produce some unique signs. There are many schools, but I prefer to use thumb to press. Unlike other laptops that I used this key on my current Toshiba is far right, making it impossible to strike by the thumb. There is an empty key right next to the space bar. In my setup, it is equivalent to--------, and I want to make another right Alt.

    Thanks in advance

    Witold

    Hello

As much as I know there is no possibility to redefine the keys on the keyboard. The only thing that allows you to redefine is the keyboard input language. This option, you can find in Control Panel under regional and language options.

    Good bye

  • Strange keyboard on my Satellite L500 problem

I have a Toshiba Satellite L500-11V and in recent months the keyboard was make it worse (some keys work only when they want too) and now it has stopped working completely. I bought another keyboard hoping it would be a simple difficulty however, this has not solved the problem.

I did some research and updated the bios to v2.1, but it still does not work. The weird thing that I found which is good to use an external via USB keyboard when I press Caps and number on the external keyboard the two lights on the laptop keyboard lights?

I am running out of ideas, and it's really bugging me now. Any ideas how to sort this?

If the new keyboard didn t sole that there must be a serious hardware problem, keyboard controller, maybe.
I think you need professional help with this then I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They can check with diagnostic tools and tell you with certainty what the problem is here.

  • BIG PROBLEM with Dell Laptop keyboard - CONTROL seems to be stuck

The CTRL (left) seems to be stuck in a way. Not like in the operating system that you are stuck where you cannot open stuff but physically. It works and everything, but when I press on the edge of the lower left there feeling like it won't go down any further. Now here's the thing
    I had the EXACT

Same problem with my ALT key on the top right corner, after hours and hours of press here and find good... The point 'G' {in this term well say it means good} button, who fixed it, but now I have it again with the CTRL key

and when you tilt your head to the level of keyboards and press gently on the left-hand side of the CTRL key, you will see the L. R left side down and the right side is not, but if I do it with another key to sound normal, balanced sound, pressing on anywhere will descend the whole key.

Sorry to be paranoid, but it drives me crazy, I don't want to send it in for repair, I tried to drag the undernath paper, there is no food or anything there, I never eat near my laptop - and I tried to suck with vacuum on LOW Power and a sliding brush. Nothing came out. Don't know what to do.

    Any help would be appreciated.

It won't go down, he's going like halfway and feels more difficult to drive, and I don't want to break it.

  • Error message "Key not valid for use in the State specified."

Since July, after my update to Firefox, I get the above error message whenever I try to update software. It is a message when I try to Java or iTunes. I offered to watch my RSA folder in the computer and it seems that the files of majority in this file are 'old data Firefox '.

The old Firefox data files are generated every time that reset you Firefox. This is done from about: support page, the Firefox menu or if you start Firefox in Mode safe mode, then select to reboot/reset.
Error, when searched seems to apply to a Windows security update. I have not seen that it comes before Firefox.
