Keys on the keyboard do not have symbols that they are supposed to do.

After a clean installed most of my keys keyboards very well worked, apart from a few who, pressed once upward with a completely different character. By pressing the button sign book comes up with ' # ' also the symbol @ appears when you hold SHIFT + 2.

And there are many others who do not work also.

Please get back to me soon.

Thank you

Tom

  • a few keys on the keyboard does not not on my Sony VAIO flip SVF15N17CXB 15A

    Hello people,

I have the following problem. Around a week ago my keyboard started acting strange. namely, the letter 'I' and 'E' started does not have to work. However, after a few typing continious finally typed the letters. then only the restrat might help. After a few days, it completely stopped working and a few other letters does not work as well now. These are: 'Q' & 'E', 't' & 'I' & 'G '. I'm typing this now with touchscreen keyboard, (fortunetely, it works perfectly).

to make sure that this software is not related, attempted to use the keys in safe mode of Windows, BIOS, connected a USB OS but still no use, they do not work. even activated the sound tapped the keyboard, but the keys do not all sound.

I tried to unplug the LED cable described as https://community.sony.com/t5/VAIO-Hardware-Networking/How-to-replace-Vaio-Flip-15-keyboard/td-p/507..., but didn't help either.

The only reason that comes to my mind could cause, it's playing video games before that happens the keyboard events. I think that overheating caused it, is it still possible that warming could cause some embarrassment on the keyboard keys?

  • the keyboard does not have to return the system to the standby mode

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit system.

The fundamental problem is that, after working properly for more than a year and a half, this Win7 machine suddenly stopped enlightenment of the mode before using the keyboard a few months ago. It still immediately responds to a mouse click, then dysfunction of the keyboard was only a minor inconvenience. The keyboard is equipped with a PS/2 connector, the mouse uses a USB port.

However, several times lately the keyboard did not return after the awakening of the system; It is a biggest drawback. Each of these three times the keyboard had returned to normal after a reboot of the operating system, using the mouse to manipulate the Start Menu. I noticed nothing otherwise askew with the keyboard at any time, which suggests that this is not a problem with hardware keyboard. I would like to know how to get the system back to normal.

I don't know if the following is relevant, but it is similar:
There is a card audio semi professional, with its own control panel software, installed in the computer. With the exception of the occasional limited testing, I do no audio recording here, but I often work on audio recordings downloaded from other sources. Thus, the audio card is really only reading used mode.

A few months ago a question arose on the settings of the control panel to monitor a recording against existing tracks. Under Win7, the map control panel is configured differently that in previous versions of Windows, if the answer was not immediately obvious.

I worked on the necessary configuration changes in Control Panel of the card as a test to determine how this follow-up. I may also changed some settings in the console Windows, but I'm not sure. Unfortunately, unlike in versions previous OS, the Windows mixer table affect use of the sound card and it is possible that I got all inputs muted in the Windows mixer as a general precaution.

Put the system into "sleep" (in the Start Menu) is done several times during my normal day. After running these tests of control, I found that the card does not work after that system was return of the mode 'sleep'. Immediately after the trials I reset control panel of the sound card for my normal use. All seems OK for audio operation was normal except after public awareness of Sleep Mode.

Audio playback seemed normal in all applications. Programs appear to progress successfully through a recording during playback. Indicators like meters, position of playback cursor and displays the elapsed time has shown its normal operation, but nothing has reached the map output Sockets. I could not find any audio settings that seem to not correct. The Device Manager said that the card was working properly. Restart the normal audio returned BONE, as it does now (most of the time) for the keyboard.

I played with things for two or three weeks. I've posted questions on some audio related forums, but no suggestion had no effect. Finally, I was ready to uninstall the card its and its drivers, then reinstall, when I remembered on the System Restore Points.

I found there was a generated system restore point made a few hours before I did my test of the monitor-the-new-record. I used the restore point and the audio card to return to normal, the awakening with the rest of the system.

The only thing I could say to be uninstalled by the restoration of the system has a few updates of Microsoft Security Essentials. I immediately did a manual update of that, to ensure it would not be any effect on the audio. Audio worked properly since registration, including, but I have not retested monitoring check against existing tracks.

It was shortly after the keyboard problem has started. In this case I don't know what it is changed on the computer that could have led to the problem, but it seems not unlikely that some settings in the registry system is again wrong.

  • Some keys on the keyboard do not work

I have the keyboard that came with the HP Pavilion a6500f Desktop that my brother gave to me.   It is a multimedia keyboard HP S/N CA74914073.  It's a good thing that I had an old Gateway keyboard sitting around, because April 20 suddenly the key SUPPR and the digital line of keys does not work.  All other keys seem to work very well, but I really need these keys and the delete key.  Can someone tell me how to fix this or where to find another one of my original keyboard?

Since the PC is six years old, the acquisition of original keyboard would be quite difficult.

You can buy a logitech or a different brand keyboard that works very well.

  • L50-B-2FN satellite: select the keys on the keyboard does not

    Hello

I have a Satellite L50-B-2FN, bought just five months ago (February 2, 2016), and apart from a problem recurring with the lid doesn't close does not correctly, I now have a hardware problem: the keyboard stopped working fully, with most of the numbers keys does not respond as well as the letters R and Y.

I checked the keyboard configuration and drivers via Device Manager and the computer tells me that everything is working properly and updated, but this is clearly not the case. I tried Toshiba's own online recommendations: uninstall the keyboard (http://support.toshiba.com/support/t...TYPE=COMPUTERS) and a restoration of the system to the last automatic (http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/System-...10/ta-p/657989), but neither solves the problem.

What I understand online forums, like thi keyboard problems are a problem common _very_ Toshiba satellites, especially those running (or update of) Windows 10 (mine came with Windows already installed 10). He, however, seems to be a clear or coherent solution. Can anyone help? Apparently the warranty on this unit (serial number, part number) expired on December 1, 2015, so even if I only bought it from the store on 2 February 2016, he is not covered - otherwise I would request a replacement, especially since the problem with the lid doesn't close does not correctly too...

    Thanks in advance, Martyn

  • Pavilion 15: number keys on the keyboard does not

I obviously made some changes with a result that the keypad does not work and I do not remember how to activate them. help please

    Hey @frederickw1,.

    Welcome to the Forums!

I understand that the keypad does not work. You mentioned that you have changed a few things. I'm here to help! I also changed the settings before and lost the use of my pad. Here are a few steps that can help.

Please make sure that the NumLock key is pressed while the button lights on your keyboard, which indicates that it works.

Please, start your computer in Mode safe. The numeric keypad works in Mode safe?

If the keyboard works fine in safe mode, then I suggest that do you a clean boot to see if another program blocking the use of the keyboard (How to perform a boot in Windows).

    • Right-click the Start button
    • Go to the control panel
    • Go to ease of access
    • Click on change how your keyboard works
    • Remove the turn checks on the keys area rocking. (This should stop your laptop computer to beep when you press the NumLock key).
    • Press OK.

If there is a check next to mouse keys:

    • Get him out.
    • Press OK.
    • Test the keypad.

If there is NOT a check next to mouse keys:

    • Please check the box
    • Press OK.
    • Test the keypad.

Here is a document you can try troubleshooting not called Portable keyboard troubleshooting (Windows 10: 8).

  • Tecra A7: Some keys on the keyboard do not work

    Hello

all of a sudden the following keys on my Tecra A7 do not work:

    8 9 I have o k l and the down and right arrows.

The first 8 are in a straight line down. Now using a USB external keyboard, but that does not in my bag when visiting customers.

Someone has an idea of what could be bad?

    Thank you
    Marc

    Hello Mark,

your problem may be something simple (the connector on your keyboard should be reinstalled, because she came off), or in the worst cases, the film of connection had broken (cut) and does not allow signals to be transmitted to the motherboard. If you are still under warranty, you should prefer consulting Toshiba for a quote, rather than attempt to fix this yourself.

If you feel confident to do it yourself, lift the plastic above the keyboard cover and remove the two screws that secure the keyboard (the screws are hidden under the plastic cover). Then you can reinstall connector 'films as' in its place.

Here is a sample image of a keyboard removed showing the location of the screws (upstairs next door) and the movie-a-like (bottom) connector:

    I have a laptop HP 2000

    Hello

This could be a hardware problem, but it is always worth trying the following.

Open windows control panel, open Device Manager, expand keyboards, right-click on the "Standard PS/2 Keyboard" entry and select uninstall.

Shut down the laptop - it by holding down the button SHIFT left click Shutdown to temporarily prevent a hybrid boot.

Then disconnect the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.
