  I learned that my GPU's massively underpowered, i.e. 256 MB of VRAM is much too small.

  Through my research, I also determined that the GPU can be replaced, because I think it is welded in to the motherboard.

  In addition, my hard drive is probably not good either, quite right? Core 2 duo of is not as good as the new i7. So what are my options?

  I used to be able to run at least iMovie and slap some clips together for short videos, even add music. I lost iMovie during the upgrade to Yosemite and am trying to figure out if it's worth trying again (for $15). Before that I tried Davinci resolve 12.5 (which is more than my computer can manipulate wayyy), and then I even tried the GoPro simple studio software. Turns out that GoPro software is not that simple if you're not using images of the GoPro and my computer was struggling to convert, rendering, see even the files. And I don't think I'd be able to make the colors in GoPro calibration software, so I'm a little more than. I don't think I need all the features of Final Cut Pro, as I'm looking to throw together a few vacation pictures and some pictures again, also a timelapse here and there in the video, etc.

  I want to mention the GoPro software comes to losing me a lot of cred in this question, but this is where I am. I don't want to really go out and start building a computer for video editing (although it seems I could do relatively cheap ~ $ 600)

  Thoughts? Suggestions? What would you do if you could do it again?

  It generates an error because this query returns about 600 lines and all these lines must be published in XML format and the tragedy, is that it is a C program between institutions i.e. C calls my functions of packged and then will do all the processing. This will return the results to the C program. Then obviously C does not recognize the CLOB and somewhere in the process, I convert to VARCHAR or CLOB CLOB, I have to use VARCHAR as a return type.   For your Audio files, instead of a highly compressed MP3, I would export it as WAV/PCM 48 kHz 16-bit, for import in PrPro. The Audio will be better, and in accordance with the standard will be faster.

  For the rest, I highly suggest to read about these programs. Adobe has a lot of good tutorials on Adobe TV too. Their use and power, fill books. There is also a very active and very good forum just for After Effects, with a lot of seasoned, professional who can help you if you get lost. As Jon States, read everything in the help files, these programs are a very good start.

  I recently bought the three HP Z400 workstations for editing XDCAM EX 1080i (HQ) a timeline in Premiere CS4. It's a very hasty and ill-informed purchase. Unfortunately I only came across the Adobe forum after that I ran into trouble with 1 and 2 workstations. After reading a lot of useful messages, it is quite obvious that new two of my machines have the ability to edit full HD 1080i chronologies stably.

  While I was able to edit clips XDCAM EX 1080i HQ on all these systems, work stations 1 and 2 are very unstable, crashing regularly, especially when rendered.

  I'm a bit of a luddite when it comes to technology, so after reading through the many excellent posts here, I'm still not entirely sure which is the best way forward for me to put jobs 1 and 2 to the height. It is clear on reading these posts that I more capitalized on GPU cards, underestimated the importance of the RAM and committed a fundamental error of my choice of operating system:

  • In the spirit of the community - are the specs for Workstation 3 enough for stable HD editing?
  • What is the best solution with 1 and 2 workstations? Reader threads I guess I upgraded Vista 64 bit OS and spend at least 6 GB of RAM - it would be enough? If this is not the case, what do you suggest? In addition, the existing processors (w3505 and w3520) are quite fleshy for work?
  • And this could take liberties... all topics widely discussed on this forum; I'm having trouble getting my head around storage. What is the best configuration that I do with my current gear (z400 motherboard) for HD editing (including adding additional disks)?

  Your CPU 3505 is only a dual core chip.  Certainly working on upgrading the CPU on a quad core.  I don't know if HP offers capabilities overclocking on this motherboard single processor.  If so, you could try prejudice overclocking guide lines since it is structurally almost identical to the i7-920.

  To the power of the processor which is the most important point for the creation, you can use one of these processors W3520 / W3540 / W3570 (2.66 to 3.20 GHz, 8 MB L2 cache) If you prefer do not overclock or if HP didn't you provided the functionality in the BIOS.

  Certainly wait (I think that it is the date) October 22 to Win 7 64 bit OS it is certainly faster than Vista 64.

  Incidentally, I don't know if you have ordered these units, but it may be useful to call HP and see if you are eligible for a free upgrade to Win 7.

  I think the upgrade to a new Mac from my Mac Mini (2011) that we have built a large library of photos and videos and I want to make a montage more.

  A retina iMac would be fine.

  I don't know if I have your correct question, but yes it is possible.

  Place a video on one track with another on the track that precedes, a third on a slope above the second.  You can stack as many as you want on top of the other.

  With the clip on the highest numbered track highlight the clip, and then in the effect controls panel to resize and reposition the clip, repeat down the tracks
