  • I just got a notice that Firefox 24 is not the last update. Also the logo on this site was different; No Fox

I was working in Firefox and instead of the site I was going to, I received the message above with a popup that took me to download URL http://dh45.info/popsh9gng0smncpaon3/lp9b2/uns.php?ubn=ff & keyword = pop_lp9b2_608. This notice also had a different logo from the usual Fox: http://dh45.info/popsh9gng0smncpaon3/images/ff_alt1.png. I was suspicious, so didn't upload. Is it legitimate or not?

    Tom

Hello Tom, it is a phishing tactic that tries to trick you into installing malicious software, in order to not download or run this kind of stuff! just download firefox from the official site at mozilla.org - more updates are handled automatically by firefox if you don't have to download anything (you can run a check of updates of firefox > help > about firefox).

You can also run a full scan of your system with software security already in place and the various tools like the free version of malwarebytes, adwcleaner & kaspersky security scan to make sure there isn't already a kind of active malware on your system that triggers these false alerts.

  • On eBAY, I can't use the sorting feature, expand, or look at this point - I used to be able to do with firefox and all of a sudden stopped working. I think it was the last update of Mozilla Firefox. What can I do?

eBAY has stopped working the way that it used with Firefox, my browser. Sort, enlarge the picture, look at this point - they are all no longer work.

    URL of affected sites

    http://eBay.com

Firefox 3.6.4 and 3.6.6 use a process called, "plugin - container.exe" who was using much of my CPU when I open several tabs containing Adobe Flash files and locked up Firefox.

My solution is to use Firefox 3.5.10, which you can get on the Mozilla site at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
I use Adobe Flash 10.1.53.64 without any problem in this version of Firefox. Check the date of issue, in my opinion, it contains all the latest security fixes in "Firefox 3.6.4".

If all goes well, they will set Firefox 3.6 in the next version (for example Firefox 3.6.7), until then you should probably use «Firefox 3.5.10»

  • Help! After today update to 18.0.1 my Firefox is unable to access any site.

After installing today, my Firefox is completely unable to navigate.

If I type a URL in the URL box and press ENTER, I see the white screen (titled 'new tab' tab)

I've had many tabs in groups of different tabs. Tabs are still displayed in the view tab of the group, but as soon as I move to a tab, the title immediately to the 'new tab' changes, and even once, nothing appears.

    What I tried (nothing works)

    1. create a new profile and launch FF in
    2. starting with all plugins disabled

That fixed the problem was simply to restart the computer. Thanks anyway for your help!

  • Anyone having trouble with the last update. Does not load on any machine

    Title says it all

Well, well, well. It seems that I have to answer my own question.

I downloaded the patch from www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows

He also wanted to stop with the same error but, unlike the update of the program, I got an option ignores. On the basis, that I couldn't be in a worse place, I took this option and it worked!

Maybe something wrong with the patch?

  • I use Winamp and now the last Firefox, is there any reason why I should not uninstal Internet explore and windows media player, please advise.

OS Windows XP Home, service pack 3

Hi sununpa, need not you uninstall internet explorer or windows media because of its integration of system player, this would make the System unstable. And anyway, it is not possible to uninstall, it is just possible to disable them.

  • Cannot access any site to play online games

Hi to anyone who can help me with this.  I have Windows XP and downloaded IE 8 some time ago.  Never had any problems until about two weeks ago.  Every time I have access to MSN GAMES, GAMES YAHOO, 'what' that is the games and try to play online, my computer completely freezes... I mean completely and it hangs forever.  Not even doing Ctrl + alt + delete to close the program.  I have to manually turn off the computer and boot from fees.  I get no error message, nothing... just a little noise beep (not like a pop-up), then the big freeze.  I tried to play on the web games on my second computer and the same thing is happening EXCEPT, I have now the message on IE shutting and something to do with the DEP (Data Execution Prevention).  I checked the Advanced tab in the system but can not change a thing.  It's so frustrating because it just started to happen.  I even uninstalled and reinstalled IE 8, went through all the procedures I can think and basically nothing changes.  Can someone please help?  Thank you.

For the purposes of troubleshooting, I suggest to test websites on another browser to see if the problem is directly related to something in Internet Explorer, or elsewhere.

    This gives a test:

    1. go on http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/
    2. click on download, click on "Run" and follow the instructions to install
    3. after installation, restart the system and try to access these Web sites

    * You may need to install Adobe Flash Player plugin, if the content does not load. In most cases, if his need, it prompts.

Please read this article on FEP (https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2015/02/success-general-license-allows-export-communications - tools-Sudan).

  • Recently firefox will not access any web site Acer Aspire 1 Linux

For the past few days firefox will not access any site, even if the wireless network is connected ok. NetBook runs ok other applications without any problem. When the browser shortcut is selected, shortened browser turns for a few seconds then stops. Nothing else happens.

Can sometimes get the message 'cannot run the web browser by default. Input/Output error.

I had the same problem (Acer Aspire One LINUX). RELOADED FireFox by following the instructions here:

  • From the updated version I can no longer connect to any site through firefox including it. Off blockers, etc. but no go. I'm on EI to the question

As the question stated that the last update, I can't connect to a site including the support of modzilla, my email if thunderbird or sound. I use IE to be able to do. I hate IE this is why I normally use Firefox. I firstly close all blockers, etc., but it does not help. Ghostery is no longer watch what trackers found it - just a blank page.

So, how a (plain English please) of the Nations United-to do an update?

The connection state is stored in a cookie, so make sure that you are not blocking cookies.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (button '3-bar' menu or tools-> Modules-> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or tools-> modules-> appearance
    • Do NOT click on the button "Refresh Firefox" on the start window Mode safe

You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:

You can reload webpages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

Clear the cache and delete cookies from Web sites that cause problems via the '3-bar' menu button of Firefox (Options/preferences).

    "Clear the cache":

    • Firefox/Options/preferences of-> advanced-> network-> cached Web content: 'clear now '.

'Delete cookies' websites that are causing problems.

    • Firefox/Options / preferences-> privacy-> "Use the custom settings for history"-> Cookies: "show the Cookies".

  • Since the last update, cannot navigate a site by typing in the address bar

Since the last update/installation of Firefox, is no longer allows navigation via typing in the address bar. Even if I type the whole address and press on enter or click on the "go to" arrow, nothing happens. I navigate to a website by Google it and following their clickable links.

I am not n00b - clearly an error with the latest version, or an interaction/preset that gets in the way. I would appreciate ideas.

Help articles for Firefox on the latest state of the version:
"Web search in the address bar - when you type in the address bar and press return, Firefox takes you in search results by using the search provider selected in the search bar."

Uh, not Firefox. Your address bar takes me precisely nowhere!

    See you soon.

OK, I have a follow-up recommends disabling half of the addons and restart the browser - if the problem disable the other half and continue until you have reduced the guilty...
