Lenovo ThinkPad T450s, 20BX0001UE

Hello, my 20BX0001UE of T450s Lenovo ThinkPad has a problem of not recognizing the Sim Card, which could be a problem?

JB63,

your laptop is not factory pre-installed wwan modem, according to his MTM. So, if your laptop is a unit new, Lenovo shop, and you add modem, it is absent in the laptop.

    Hi all

I really have been helped by this forum in the past and really hope that you can help with this question.

I installed the card and installed the driver - who went down without a hitch. The calculation recognizes the card without any problems. Unfortunately, however, when you insert a SIM card it does not record the SIM card either: "Insert sim" is always present.

In my research on this forum, it seems this problem is specific to Windows 10 - the system does not recognize the wireless card but does not recognize the SIM card reader. For the record, it seems to work for others when using Windows 7 (but would not be a fantastic solution in my situation.)

Is there any solution for this?
Thanks in advance for your time and answers!

    Jack

The fact broadband point is presented in the settings of operating system, is good. Right click on this item to open the settings pane, take a look at the setting of the AFN. Is there any channel? Is it matches exactly your mobile operator and the rate card SIM connected to? BTW, the SIM card activated, with access to large contract broadband?

Your modem firmware is pretty obsolete. It might be bugy for your case. But maybe not. The new firmware is more stable in specific cases.

Read this post if you wish:
    https://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/ThinkPad-tablets/Sierra-Wireless-EM7345-beta-build-4389/m-p/3282540#M32...

For example, you can install the last fw for this package:
    https://download.Lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/gtwo45ww.exe
    the Readme file:
    https://download.Lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/gtwo45ww.txt

.. .or use the previous, stable version:
    https://download.Lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/gtwo42ww.exe
    https://download.Lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/gtwo42ww.txt

Thanks to Intel, the modem chipset manufacturer, updated fw for this modem is a bit complicated. It can be done in automatic mode if:
-fw loader driver and fw update tool are installed from the package above
-your network operator IDs (MCC/MNC) are listed in the settings of update fw FLSInformation.xml file (found in the installation folder)
-appropriate sim card is inserted into the slot of the drive

If the home network is absent, you must perform the upgrade in manual mode, he needs a few things. We'll do it if you decide you (don't worry, no Internet users).

So, I say to install the drivers of the Sierra of this package and use only drivers native win10, install the fw items that I mentioned above. Anyway, if you decide, drivers of the Sierra with/without drivers for the selective Mode to suspend (SS).

  • Lenovo thinkpad t450s will not be to the video when it's on battery

Video freezes when the notebook is on battery, when you move the mouse, it continues to play. Audio plays all the time. Overall performance slows down terribly. Windows will not close or open until the passage of the mouse. Videos won't play on 3 browsers and if plays hard drive

The laptop is less than a month, all the updates are installed, anti virus deleted. When it is plugged in, I have none of the problems listed.

  • ThinkPad T450 - Hotkey features integration stops working after the screen lock

My OSD volume and brightness no longer works after that screen is locked using a timeout or Win + L. All other information like the caps lock or disbale microfone OSD are still working, but brightness and volume bars are gone.

    I have the following configuration:

    Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

BIOS 1.21 (taken from the site of Lenovo)

8.80.05 (from Lenovo system update) keyboard shortcut function integration

1.67.12.07 (from Windows Update) power management driver

Intel Graphics Driver 10.18.15.4285 (from Windows Update)

I tried already to older versions of integration function Hotkey and power management driver, but this does not solve the problem.

When I unlock my T450 all services (On Screen Display, PM Service and Hotkey customer charger) are still ongoing, but I can get the OSD back by restarting the service of customer magazine (until the next Win + L) keyboard shortcut.

Is this a common problem or is it just me? Any suggestions?

    Best regards

    Bernd

  • Question of ThinkPad T450s Power adapt

Hi guys, this is my first post

I want to buy the Thinkpad T450s soon (US version) for my personal use. My only concern about this is that the power adapter can operate with the South American power (220V, 60 Hz), because the United States 110V operation as far as I know.

Only the product specification is as follows: country Pack 45W AC adapter / CC of the United States (2 pins).

PS: I sent this question a week ago to Lenovo support and they did not respond, so I take this way.

    Thanks in advance.

Power adapter 110-240V, then it should work, I use mine in Europe, you just use the adapter and the end to match your outlet in the country.

  • ThinkPad T450s Review

    Introduction

The ThinkPad T450s is one of the best new ultrabooks. If it is not as slim as some, it is still quite compact and easier to service than the thinner machines and screen Full HD IPS is a standout feature.

This review is based on a ThinkPad T450s, 20BX Type of Machine production, product ID 20BXCTO1WW.

    • Intel Core i7-5600U processor
    • 8.1 Windows Pro 64
    • 14.0 "FHD (1920 x 1080)
    • Camera HD 720 p
    • Intel HD 5500 graphics card
    • 4 GB DDR3L - Base of 1600 MHz SDRAM
    • Fingerprint reader
    • Hard drive 500 GB, 7200 RPM, 2.5 "
    • ThinkPad battery 3 cells Li-Polymer (23.2Whr) before
    • ThinkPad battery 3 cells Li-Polymer (23.2Whr) rear
    • Country Pack 45W in the United States (2-pin) adapter
    • Intel 7265 AC/B/G/N Dual Band Wireless + Bluetooth Version 4.0

    From the receipt:

    • 4 GB Samsung SO - DIMM has been installed
    • Hard drive has been replaced with 1 TB Samsung 850 EVO SSD.

    Construction

T450s build quality isn't old ThinkPad level, with a clear devaluation, but is still very good. Problems include the difficulty of dislodging the lower lid (after removing the 8 screws) for joining plastic textured inside and fingerprinting, revealing instead of the old finish rubber. But it is quite solid, no bending and quite compact.

    Connectivity

Port is good enough on both sides with nothing on the back. All USB ports are 3.0 with excellent performance. But Mini DisplayPort means you need to maybe buy and carry a dongle of easy-to-lose. Performance of the Wi - Fi connection (802.11ac Intel 2 x 2) seems better than previous cards Intel generation 802.11n, even those with 3 x 3. Bluetooth connections are fast. The speakers are decent, but nothing to write home about. Quality of the webcam is improved over previous generations, but still struggles in low light. Fingerprint reader is a great improvement. (Thanks, Apple.)

    Performance

The good news is that the i7 T450s finally turns out to be a bit faster than the i7 Sandy Bridge (T420s) on the tasks of processor such as video encoding, despite a processor intensive ultra low voltage a bit more slowly. The machine is cold and silent most of the time, with only a gentle breath of air under high load.

    Memory

4 GB of memory is soldered to the main Board and there is only a single SO-DIMM location. While you can add a 8 GB SO - DIMM for 12 GB total, that would mean that half of the memory could run in single channel mode, which can have a very important impact on the performance (as much as 20-30%), especially since the graphics adapter integrated uses part of the main memory (memory available). So if you care about performance, you need to stick with 8 GB, which can be marginal for things like video editing HD Ultra. (The impact on the performance, of course, also applies to machines with only the Basic 4 GB of memory. The promised NVIDIA 940 M graphics option is not yet available.)

    Screen

The IPS 1920 x 1080 screen can take some getting used to, but is really much better than TN screens and is close enough to a calibration right out of the box. (Remember to burn on the screen for at least 24 hours before making any justice.)

    Keyboard

The keyboard of the island is pretty good for what it is, but the provision still suffers compared to the classic ThinkPad keyboard. Homepage layout end delete and PrtSc are poor and other keys like Pause/break are missing entirely, now only available as Fn combinations (such as Fn + B for Break) that are not marked on the keys. Also annoying is the lack of status lights of the hardware (your hard drive, Wi - Fi, Bluetooth, load connection). You can count on the Windows taskbar for wireless and in charge, but you will need to install something like DiskLED (which works well) to the disk activity. Keyboard backlight is usable (despite some annoying light crosstalk between the top row), but not as good as the classic ThinkLight.

    Power

With just the standard 2nd battery, not long battery life with big bulge on the bottom, the T450s still usable on and off by a day without running out of battery power. The power adapter provided is quite small, but only 45W, cannot quickly fresh when the system is under load. If you care about fast charging, you should get the Slim 65W adapter.

    Summary

A return for most welcome to your ThinkPad, with a very good IPS screen and finally enough power processor ultra low voltage measure to the Sandy Bridge.

Belkin Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter is available at low cost from B & H.

  • Black screen on a lenovo Thinkpad T420

Hello, I m a proud owner of a lenovo thinkpad T420. My screen remains black with blacklighting on when I try to boot with a linux live cd, I can t see the office nothing. I tried with an external display, same result. And when I restart the computer with windows, everything seems normal. Please help me!

I tried to use the Ubuntu distribution

Also, which version of Ubuntu or under Live CD do you use? The reason I ask is because it should be relatively new. For example, there should be no problem with anything out of the Oct/Nov the year last to this day. Try 16 11.10 Ubuntu or Fedora or Linux Mint 12. One of these should work.

    Good luck!

  • Lenovo-ThinkPad-W541-20EFCTO1WW: is it possible to change/upgrade Quadro K2100M of GTX 980 M?

is it possible to change/upgrade GPU - Quadro K2100M of GTX 980 M in ws laptop Lenovo "ThinkPad W541' (20EFCTO1WW)?

I like the laptop, but the GPU portion is not for pc games, so iwould like to know weather is it physically possible to change this QuadroK2100M in the Lenovo ThinkPad W541 games GPU i.e. GTX 980 M?

    Thanks in advance!

The GPU is soldered to the motherboard, so he can't be replaced.

The K2100M should still work good for the games.

The 980M is also a map of 100 watts, while the K2100M is a map of 55 watts. There is no way the W541 can handle it, even if you can replace the GPU.

  • Lenovo Thinkpad T430

    Hi guys,.

I'm new to the forum and have only recently bought my Lenovo Thinkpad T430. I'm looking to add an internal SSD flash drive and move the HARD drive in the ultrabay port sitting factory. I just want to confirm with you kind people that I bought will indeed get the job done.

    I ordered this SSD:

    http://www.eBay.co.UK/ITM/191256143695?_trksid=p2060778.m2763.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

    and this ultrabay caddy:

    http://www.eBay.co.UK/ITM/350495387260?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

This will be sufficient for the work, I'm looking to meet? Currently, I have 8 GB of RAM and plan to upgrade this 16 GB in time. Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Ryan

    Welcome to the forum.

Yes this SSD and Ultrabay adapter will work fine.

    A few comments.

    1. while 64 GB is enough for the BONE and some apps it is somewhat tight IMO. SSD prices are falling. Consider a 120 GB or 240 GB. This way you can run the T430 without the HARD drive in the Ultrabay slot if necessary. What to do when I travel so that it has no moving for parts damaged by accidental impact.

    2. Another option to consider is an mSATA SSD to go in making WWAN. This will keep the existing HDD where it is and let the Ultrabay available for the DVD or even another SSD/HDD.
