Lights on Compaq CQ61-415SA Blinkig

I have a Compaq CQ61-415SA and it seems to have stopped working. I turned it on and it worked very well, so I left it while doing something else for a few hours, it was not attached to the power supply and when I went to use the following happened.

When you turn it on, it tries to access the DVD player and a fan turns on, it is that it will. The power led lights up, the main power light turns on and stays on, two flashing lights flash once then pause then repeat. I read that it is probably a hardware problem, is this right, and what is the next step? I disconnected the battery and hold the power switch for 20 seconds, but nothing happens.

Can someone help me please?

Thanks JohnB19

My problem has been resolved and it was so easy.

I removed the maintained battery hold power for 30 seconds and then released.

Disconnect the a/c power cord and replace the battery.

Put in operation and allow the battery to drain completely.

If the battery plug power cable, let it charge for four minutes and then press the power switch to turn on.

It works!

Hope of good luck that it works for you.

  • Downgrade from Windows 7 64 for XP 64 bit for the Presario Compaq CQ61 - 319WM VM371UA

    HI - lets get right:

You have now the Compaq Presario CQ61-319WM in front of you is preloaded with Win7, but you want to downgrade to your copy of XP64bit.

    Your system is:

AMD Athlon II M300 64-bit multiprocessor Dual Core @ 2 GHz

    RS780/RS880 (M)<- your="" northbridge="">
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 (3400 variant?)<- your="">
    SB750<- southbridge="">

1 unit comes with a 250 GB HARD drive. Replace it with another SATA HDD for your copy of xp64 bit before powering it, by registering and activating, seeing that this solution is not yet complete, saving your software Windows 7 preinstalled in this way.

NOTE: Do not install Windows XP 64 - bit Edition on your current 250GB Win7. If you did get the Compaq CD to restore.

Download nLite from 2 a. nLiteOS.com to integrate SATA drivers (called: "Slipstream") inside your Windows CD otherwise: BSOD. (recommended method)

    -or-

2B. After changing BIOS to recognize the floppy USB download drive drivers SATA on diskette and the XP CD, press F6 to manually load these drivers SATA AHCI floppy.

    3. use your Slipstreamed CD and let XP starts normally (no key of F)

    -Si Windows successfully installed continue-

    4. now that XP64 bit runs the first thing that you want to install the .NET Framework 3.0 would be.

    5. install Visual C++ redistributable (free version)

6 install the network driver. See below

NOTE: 8102 & 8103 pilots would most likely work, not 8139 family.

On our test unit CQ61 we currently have ALL but TWO missing drivers. the Audio driver and the video!

After consultation with AMD, IDT and Insyde each has decided that this problem is with Compaq "Softpaqs Engineering Team", in the meantime a viable solution. Support for Compaq of level 2 has been unable to help in this case, however, agreed to intensify this concern to the "level 3" (genius).

"Diversity is the key to break the monotony" Obviously, still a challenge for the Presario team in this area.

Our testing shows that the problem exists in the firmware of the cards mothers; Perhaps the BIOS. Insyde (SSII BIOS) indicated that HP/Compaq has the "sp?.» solution "exe" and refused further assistance because of HP/Compaq contracts. "

So why Compaq insist on locking/force their users in Windows 7, without other Windows based operating system options for this model and others who are currently in production? We're going to investigate.

Currently, Windows XP 64-bit Edition is still being supported by Microsoft after January 10, 2010. So why not HP?

    Finally.

Here we have the more stable driver, for most official, complete the value for the model CQ61 running XP64 (and possibly XP as well). It concerns all the drivers listed below:

    Driver SATA AHCI-

    Bus - SM

    -Realtek Ethernet Controller

-ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 video driver

    Driver Modem Agere-

    -Atheros WiFi driver

Use this forum as the timestamp.

There were too many sources to the list for the updated driver, so a full driver package was created in place to keep things simple, without all the headaches of doing it yourself.

This package should work on XP 64-bit operating systems based and is released as is. The instructions are inside each directory.

NOTE: After downloading Please run the 1st prerequisites folder, then all other folders depending on numbers starting with 1 ( 0 record is for your slipstream). Here are the details of the file:

Last NOTE: If MD5 checksums do not match after downloading, remove it immediately. In this community, we are here to assist you in all possible ways to make your life a little easier with the PC. This is an ongoing process and the development of this package has been a joint effort from many sources. However, we remain optimistic for the official drivers of HP if they also, we support the cause as highlighted in their slogans and advertising. All in all societies can only works in their resources when it comes to projects like this however... "Diversity is the key to break the monotony", that's why we all think alike. We will stay hopeful. Thank you for your support. * UART *.

The laptop has a w/out unique user account a pwd named "OP8", and from the opening of session he immediately embarks on a host of Test/QA applications and attempts to connect to a number of network drives.

There is no recovery partition and no software pre-installed at retail, either. It seems to be a stripped Win7 install with that device drivers and software QA.

The unit arrived this way sealed factory and had not been opened before.

So far, I have been reluctant to call the HPQ telephone technical support, primarily because it is a rather unusual question (I hope).  I'd much rather do not return the unit to the retailer, as it was the last one in stock at the time.

Any suggestions on where to go with an issue like this?  I'm perfectly ok with the lack of pre-installed applications (it's quite nice, actually), but I'd rather have an OS/Recovery DVD on hand in case it is always necessary.

  • Compaq Presario CQ61-416SA: upgrade the Compaq CQ61 wireless card

I have a Compaq Presario CQ61-416SA, running 64-bit Windows 7 application. The current wireless card only works on the 2.4 Ghz band and I want to upgrade to a dual band to get the best speed etc. to 5 GHz. I have an Intel Centrino N6230 of replacement card, but the phone will not accept anything other than the default map. At the start, it stops with an error message saying that it will not continue unless the "unauthorized device" is deleted. If I re - install the original wireless card, it starts and works very well, but this is not the point, I would like to update.

I guess that the default is to lock the part of the BIOS of the laptop to prevent alteration unauthorized with laptop computers under warranty, but mine is well outside the guarantee.

I know that the card works because I installed it in my laptop previous and I have been in electronics for 30 years and spent about 5 years of this repair of computers laptops, desktops, servers, etc so I'm sure that I am able to connect a card and the driver installation!

There does anyone know a way around the block? I won't to be able to upgrade the laptop without it.

    Anyone?

Do not completely blame HP, but it was little 1984 involving your federal Government. HP and Lenovo read a few Federal Communications Comm regs on the recording of radio portable wireless (including the computer wifi cards) to require that alternative cards are blocked. Other laptop makers has not agreed and now the 'white list' is history, but there is no effort to go back and make new BIOS for older models.

HP wireless card versions have specific identification in the firmware looking for the HP whitelist before clearing the map to use if you use the version of HP. I looked pretty hard for a version of HP of the card and the one I linked is everything I could find. Google around and you can do better.

  • Drivers for modem LSI HDA for Compaq CQ61-411WM

Hi everyone, I recently bought a CQ61-411WM laptop.  I loaded Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on the laptop, even though I know that HP does not support the Ultimate, just the version version Home premium to Windows 7.  When I did this upgrade to Ultimate, I lost the modem, and I still can't get it to work.

None of the modem Agere/LSI of HP drivers work on this system/modem.  So, I ordered the HP restore disc and guess what?  You heard me right.  The modem has not been installed.  And the recovery discs are supposed to contain all drivers.  Well it did not contain the modem drivers, but they obviously did not work, because it was not installed when you have completed the recovery.

I extracted the modem drivers on restoration with 7-Zip drive, which can read at the BASE. WIM file and all other files on the recovery disks.  It did not work.  I am at a loss here.  I have high speed internet, but I have this modem operational, because I use this computer for work, and when I lose my ADSL connection, the modem is my backup.

HP seems to be of no help either.  I also tried sp45229.exe, and it DOES NOT WORK.  Here's the code provider, device id and the id of subsystem for the modem on my computer... Vendor ID is the device ID 1 11 is 1040 and the subsystem ID is 103C363F.  In addition, number 363 is the model of system/motherboard.  I heard that the subsystem ID does not correspond to the. File INF of the software accompanying modem, it does not install or is not installed correctly. I looked in the. LSI software INF file, and there is no id corresponding to this system/modem in the HP Softpaq SP45229.exe subsystem

There is NOTHING anywhere for this modem.  HP needs to get off their duffs and DEVELOP a DRIVER for this modem on this computer model.  There is no excuse as to why I would not be able to re - install the modem under Windows 7 Ultimate instead of having to comply with the home edition of Windows 7 Premium sucky.  I develop software, but I don't have the time to deal with Scripture, the drivers and all.  I have other things to worry about.

    Here is the entry for this modem device manager: HDAUDIO\FUNC_02 & VEN_11C1 & DEV_1040 & SUBSYS_103C363F

Maybe this is why I'm having no luck.  Also, I should note, that the Manager of devices and Windows 7 operating system as a whole IS NOT AUTOSCAN for HDA modems.  You MUST have the RIGHT driver for the installed do or there are no go!  Nothing found for it on Windows Update either.  So, I am S-O-L or what?  Please advise me on this situation.

I'm sorry for everyone is a moment that I lost.  It turns out that my card in this computer modem is burned up.  I found one for the computer, but it is a map of modem Agere Delphi D40 AM5.  I think that the current excessive loop on the phone line or a storm came out the modem.  So I'll reduce the loop current voice, and I'll keep unplugged so that a storm happens.  I'm surprised it didn't get out the computer.  I'm lucky!

Now, to get the modem and download the drivers installed, it should detect it immediately.  It does not detect a modem blown well! Laughing out loud
