  Hi people, I use lightroom CC and I'm, you're wondering how to tag photos with location or travel details? I've recently returned from South Africa with 3500 + pictures and I'm currently sorting out. I use processes of structured files so I can clearly identify the disk the pictures, I use key words such as "Africa2015" to be able to use the smart albums, also "the birds" for the reason came etc, but the problem comes when I have 11 photos of the accommodation we stayed in the keywords of the Namibian desert--"Canyon Mountain Lodge", do not seem appropriate for me but they seem to be the only way to identify the content of the photo. Is this the right method? It is the only way? What do other people do?

  In my opinion, keywords are not only suitable for the Canyon Lodge mountain, they're absolutely work! A keyword for which allows to easily find photos at any time in the future.

  Uh, no, this isn't the ONLY way, there are probably a dozen ways to do so. How about legends? What about titles? How about a collection? (and other ideas, I'm sure)

  Furthermore, I use dates in my keywords, I'd use 'Africa' as a keyword instead of 'Africa2015 '. The dates are already included metadata, you don't need to create a 2nd time year.

• 5 Lightroom and the location of the photos

  I plan buy 5 Lightroom.  I've never used Lightroom before.

  I have limited my primary C: drive space. However, I have 3 other drives in my computer where I put my photos.

  When I install Lightroom and try to organize the photos Lightroom fade copy or move the photos on my drive C: of primart where Lightroom would be installed. I have that rather, it wouldn't as I have little space on the C; drive and the photos soon to populate my C; drive. I like to keep my photos on other drives in my computer. Is this possible?

  When you import images, Lightroom does not matter the actual photo in the catalog, it generates thumbnails and does not change the images on the disk.  Finally, if you manipulate photos under the heading 'Files', then it is going to move, delete, or edit photos on the disk.  This feature is one of the main reasons I went from iPhoto and Aperture, Lightroom 5.

  I am trying to use as a screen saver windows photo gallery. I thought that I had done it, but then I got an error message and nothing happened.

  I browsed the site for advice and changed the power at high settings. I also see Tips 'Change jpeg image file size to about 500 KB'. Is this setting in screen saver because the pictures option is a drop down menu which gives just a selection of photos predefined?

• The location of the XML file?

  Hi - Maybe it's a weird question, but I hope someone can help me.  I'm supposed to copy and paste the XML of my client on the server whenever it is updated through DW when connected to FTP.  So far, I have not been able to access the server, so I have no way of knowing exactly where the XML file.  This is the page which takes XML:

  I assumed that there is a kind of folder on the server that holds the file called "matrix".  For the life of me, after looking at the link above, code I can't well it say anything on a matrix file.

  In DW, I made a small test page and put in place a Spry data set and took a picture of the code [see below]:

  

  Spry shows clearly where the file is located in the photo above, but I can't find it on the link.  In addition, scientists are telling me that all I have to do is to download the XML through WordPress (the above site using WP CMS) but when I did it - downloaded the XML through WP - it is not too much to write the previous version but rather re - name (such as matrix1.xml).

  So I think the only way to download and replace a DW FTP access and copy and paste the new code XML on the server.

  Is my analogy this correct?  You can see the path I might be dominant in the page above that points to the matrix file?  I want to just make sure that the XML file is located on the link server in a directory above.

  Sorry - I was referring to your second question on downloading the file with FTP. If you want to download it with WP, and then delete the existing since the first Panel to SUPPORT XML file.

• Location of the folder to move?

  Hi everyone, I noticed that my record of 2013 has been in my photo on a Mac Book Pro folder, run Lightroom 5 my / 2012. I moved the folder in Lightroom using the function "update folder location" in the photo folder. However although I get pictures when I go in the develop module, I'm getting all the features to develop, I always get the metadata however. In the grid, I have an explanation mark in the upper right. If I right click on a photo and use the "find photo in the finder" feature I get the following message "Untitled - 4.dng" could not be used because the original file cannot be found. You want to locate? ». I know that probably I did something very stupid, it's a quick fix and I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction to solve this problem. I am now shooting of children in school and must make hundreds of packages. PScs3 can do it, but then I have to manually save and that takes a hell of a lot of time, no matter what time of the IHR sets free me...

  You can print to JPEG format in the same way that you print in default normal mode ContactSheet/Grip. Use the Print Job Panel mode "print to JPEG.

• Location of the copy in Photos

  Is it possible to copy the location from one photo to another in Photos as we could in iPhoto?

  My iPhone picks up the location but my Sony camera does not work.  In the past, with iPhoto, I could copy the location of a photo with the location of a photograph (taken in the same place) who did not have the location information.  I thought the Photos were supposed to be updated to allow to add/copy the location.

  If when you import photos from your camera Sony to the Photos app and the location data is not displayed or incorrect, the best way to solve this problem would be to manually add the location for the pictures once it's in the Photos app. You can do so by following the steps below.

  1. Select a badly located photo.
  2. choose Image > location > location to remove the menu bar.
  3. press on command-I to display the info of the image.
  4. at the bottom of the information window, click on location.
  5. start to type an address, city, company, or other name of the location. When you type, AutoComplete suggestions will appear. Select the location you want to assign to the image.
  6. repeat these steps for any image which has an incorrect location.

  Difficulty of the incorrect locations in Photos

  You can do this with several photos at the same time. Press on and hold down the SHIFT key, and then select the first photo you want to apply changes to. From there, click the last picture you want to assign to the same place for. Release the SHIFT key and then right-click on one of the images highlighted. Select "Get Info" and follow the steps above to enter the site. This will apply to this location for each image that you highlighted.

  This should get the desired location on your photos without delay. Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

  How can I paste the location of a photo to other photos (this was easy in iPhoto)?

  I'll often take a picture with my iPhone to get the precise location, and then paste this place to all the photos I took with my digital SLR.

  You can type the latitude, followed by the longitude in the location field of the Info for a photo Panel in Photos. Only, pictures don't show the location as latitude and longitude.

  You can see the latitude and longitude of a photo, if you export pictures then select in Finder and enter ⌘I for ' file > read the information.  The infopanel in the Finder will show the latitude and longitude.  Or use this script to copy the latitude and longitude in the jury of the dough: Script: extract numeric values using an Apple Script GPS

  Photos only, requires the coordinates to write with a decimal comma, not a comma, you may need to change the values returned, if your system preferences are set to write decimal numbers with a comma.

  And delete the part of the altitude of returned values.

  In my app Photos a year, it will also show the summary of the situation (like my photo in 2014)

  The years will not display places, if the list of places for this year has more than 6 countries.  Have you traveled a lot in 2015?  Or took pictures on a long-distance flight, if you have more pictures of six countries (or oceans) in the photo library?

  If you hide the photos of some countries, to the list of countries more short, locations must show apart from the year.

• Photos can not find the location of the original file

  My photo library cannot locate the masters original which means that photos don't load to icloud and photo book, I worked all year is riddled with exclamation points, because they can't find the file.

  Is that what I can do to fix the places they designate? The files are still on my computer, because none have been moved and I can find them when you use find any file, it's just that there are more 6 000 files that are "unable to download" so it would be very expensive to do it one by one.

  Are files that can be found inside the photo library in the folder of masters or referenced by pictures in a folder outside the library?

  If the photos are in a folder outside your library, check where Photos expected them to be.  The error you get when you try to edit or export the original file should show you the path to the file in the folder where the photo should be.  Where is it?  Try "file > see the file reference in the Finder.  He opens the folder where the original must be.
