  If you create a PDF file from an image, it is always a picture, and you cannot change it.

  If the image contains text, then you need to perform the text recognition (OCR) before you can actually change the text.  Acrobat can do that.

  I am editing a book that is already created. It was divided into chapters and received all the separate from chapters (in the indesign format). However, on the pages Panel, it shows the page numbers and if I add / delete pages he modifies the numbering. Does this mean the original designer used the format of book? If so, how almalgamate to create a PDF file to send to printers?

  Also if I want to change the global styles (fonts etc.) must I do in each individual masterpage for each chapter?

  What version of InDesign are you using? When I opened a panel of book, there are many more options. If make sure that in your book panel, none of the chapters are selected (click in the white space at the bottom to deselect). You should see a few options available for PDF and EPUB for export.

  I have a gif image in a document, dreamweaver (CS4).  I want to select separate parts of this image and create hyperlinks to them.  I know how to create hyperlinks to the text specific objects or separate images, but I want to part of the image to be linked to one place and the image linked elsewhere.  I thought that I had done in the past (it seems that the part I wanted all yellowed), but now I can't figure out how to get a selected article.  This can be done?

  Can you not with the right button on the image file in the folder, the images are stored in, select "Get Info" and then find the size of the file in this way?

• Looking for a small program of character Bit Map that I used to have.

  UPDATE: this morning has started all over with disk Win XP in D: and install windows components.

  CD wanted for "install components", located "charmap.exe" (which was an empty folder).

  AND finally installation is complete without a message to put the original disc in drive D! where there

  summer all the time.

  (1) I don't want to post multiple in the same session - as if the user click on the 'back' button and access into the page again.

  (2) Unfortunately, our web page design reuses the same name of the page - as splash.do, but has a runtime context variable.  I want to only capture charges for the first time that the splash.do is hit.  But if the user navigates to another page in the path of purchase which is also called splash.do - I don't want to count it, press.

  Mark,

  I don't know what is the best approach.  Here are two ideas to consider.

  Option 1 - create a successful filter which updates a session custom field only if the custom field is already filled.  The first time of the session, that the field is updated, the metric will update.  Then the filter hit will not be matched again for this session.

  It is an example.

  

  Option 2 - create a session filter.  In the filter of the session, match using a filter of success which is only splash.do.  If any session with URL/path of this updates the metric.  Session filters only updated at the end of a session, so it will match only once.  The filter of success for splash.do will have a lot of matches, but the session filter will update only once if there is a corresponding success.

  One of these give a try.

  I need to create AntiAffinity rules to keep the 'a' and 'b' machines on separate hosts.

  The created rule should be like "Fs001" and both machines.

  Any help/direction with powercli script that can do this would be greatly appreciated. I don't know how to handle the name match in powershell. It's something I want to run as a scheduled task to avoid human error in the rules missed or incorrect.

• Can I create a PDF template (or other file) in InDesign, my client can update images?

  I designed a brochure for a client, and they would like to know if I can do a version where they will be able to Exchange pictures (and text) be updated for future projects.

  It's perfectly fine for me, as I take on other clients and is not able to do for them in the future. I also know how to create the text in this way, as I can implement each header and body as a separate 'form' that they can fill with reader and save... However, I don't know how it is possible to change/replace the images without having something like Acrobat.

  Is it possible to create an interactive environment, they can 'download' image, and then save the PDF file? They are a small company, so I would rather not say they have to buy additional software. I also want to make it as easy for them as possible.

  I am also aware, however, that even if a picture can be incorporated, a PDF file may not be able to resize an image to fit within such a framework. I can, however, write an exe file that will resize the images for them if necessary. I don't know how to get them in the PDF...

  A model like this would be probably simple HTML, but unfortunately, the brochure design is beyond my ability to reproduce in Dreamweaver, and I also assume that printing an HTML document would be a nightmare for the printing industry lol.

  You can use the same method of forms for images, but it only gives you no control over postioning in the framework or the scale/crop update.

  The key here is really that this kind of editing must be done in the ID, and if they want to they should probably invest in a license, even if it's just a subscription to the month, when they need it.
