Lost films...

I imported a bunch of home movies on my mac.  I have not played them in awhile.  I tried tonight to see one and he was told that the file could not be found.  Where they might be?  I don't have another copy!

Not please people, a rule you need to drive safely your Mac is KEEP A BACKUP COPY OF IMPORTANT FILES!

We will try a few things to locate

1. spotlight - do a spotlight search, I know you have doe these, but it's worth a go.

2 ' about this Mac' storage - take a glance how much space is taken up with the movies. It is a good indicator to the weather, they are on mac or not..

3 Time machine - it is set in motion? I use it because I save all of the files of THE ALL THE TIME! See if it is, do a spotlight search and go back to a date that you think that they were present.

If this isn't the case - Tun turn it on!

Hope, there is little assistance and you find the files.

    Original title: Loss of registration

No apparent reason, I lost some of the channel list, significantly Channel 5 and Film 4 and a lot of other minor channels. Does anyone know why this is and how to fix it? I already tried "Get latest Guide listings" several times without success.

    Hi Bryan,.

  • I lost two of my completed films

Update iMovie and then a few days later I reorganized files events (movement of clips in folders different events). Later that day, I realized that two of the films that I had finished editing disappeared! I tried to cancel the shares, but as I had already x - ed out of iMovie I couldn't. I really hope that there is a way I can get back them.

Since you updated to iMovie, I guess you run 10.1.1. Two missing projects appear when you click on the button of projects at the top of the iMovie window? Have you looked in the theater? How did you move clips from one event to another in iMovie app?

  • HELP PLEASE! I lost about 400 GB of MP4 (film and audio book) using Chkdsk files. He repaired broken sectors/files regardless, but it changed the extentions. How can I find new extensions? they are there, but I don't know how to find them.

I have Vista Home Premium. I have a huge media collection for my ipod. I save all my video files and files on an external hard drive (my book 500 GB) audiobook while they clutter up my internal drive and so I can store them where my internal drive has failed somehow... Well I got the opposite happens. I started to get my video files would not open in their records. I ran Chkdsk utility to "fix" the files. When the program has finished running he had a Msg: something has changed the names of files and everything I was supposed to go to the files and the rear switch (as far as I can remember... I don't wear SPECIAL attention for the MSG that I thought it was normal and the program would take me to the files when it was done... ERROR. All desktop shortcuts no longer find files directly by going to my computer, then by looking at the HD I cannot find the files.  I used the program REcuva file hippo and it restores the few files that have been deleted out of the dirve and allowed to see some of the video files and audio books (but no tag info remained on the recovered files. I had to so I would like to know what they rename them). Other than these few files... less than 20 I t help either. Records that they are still there, but it asks me to open files with a program from a list of choices and not of the program draw files. (the choice to choose this high program open this type of file is also blacked out). Also when I run the cursor over the records of the size of the files do not match wat I know should be in the files. But if I just look at the my computer screen and run the cursor over the icon of the letter itself it show that there is 435 + GB hard disk info and 50 + GB of space left on it.
    A few questions:
    1. is it possible to see all the possible msg that the command chkdsk can generate so I can find that he gave me when he fixed my files?
2 - How can I find these files if I don't know the extensions I'm looking for? they were for quicktime mp4 files, but I don't know now.
3 - If the drive to my drive internal and try to list the backup files is located on the drive where I'd start trying to open the files?
4 do I just need to cut my losses and reformat the hard disk, crying over 2 years, he took me to build the library and start over again >? (at least I kept some of my files from itunes library since itune on DVD about 1.5 years ago (about 300 GB of data there))
And by the way the reader is set up to the FAT 32 format, that I did not know until this all happened.

Go to start / Control Panel / folder Options / View and uncheck Hide extensions for known file types.  You should also check the box to see the system and hidden files while you're there.  This should show you the extensions of all files if that is the problem.  You can then rename the files for extensions are associated with a program that will open and read the files (you may need to experiment first with some programs to find one that works and an extension that works if they have been changed).  I don't know any way to do this for all files at once - they will have to be renamed individually (yes - I realize counts the number of files involved, but I know of no program in Vista or even a 3rd party program that will change the extensions for a group of files at a time - you can check for yourself on www.tucows.com and www.download.com).

Desktop Shortcuts no longer work because either the file type of the source file has changed and the shortcut does not open the file, or because the file has been moved and the shortcut can not find the path.  You should be able to check the path by finding files (whatever they are now called) and see if they are in the same directories in path as they were before this happened.  I think it's because the source file works more correctly because of the extension (or corruption).

Recuva to recover lost or deleted files - not the files that are on the system (and you won't not solve your problem by deleting them and then use Recuva to recover because it sounds like the problem is with the extensions and Recuva is not going to be able to correct it (it is not part of his program)).

There's no list of ALL possible messages that might be generated by chkdsk I know.  Here is an article on the chkdsk command works in XP and some messages it generates - but far from everything and nothing look like the one you receive (and it works essentially the same under Vista): http://www.isd518.net/District/TechDir/Help/Chkdsk.htm.

The backup on your internal hard disk drive will not solve the problem - just move it.  The 'damage' to the files are already done a backup now will not solve anything.  The fact that the drive is set up in format FAT32 is not the question (and probably not the question in the first place is) and change to NTFS now is not going to solve the problem (although you can do that after all this has been resolved).

I won't tell you to cut your losses - this is a pretty drastic step and there may still be other options (although I don't know myself).  You can take the reader to a recovery expert data (NOT Geek Squad or one of these other major centres to store) which may be able to recover some, most, or all files.  It will be expensive and only you can decide if it's worth the cost.  These people usually the game fee and do not offer a guarantee of recovery - even if they don't recover anything you always pay.  The decision is yours.

If none of this works, transfer your question in images and videos Forum at: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistapictures/threads where people who specialize in issues related to the video may be able to help with your problem, since it's video files.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck! Lorien - a - MCSE/MCSA/network + / A +.

  • Lost my film

    Hey all,.

I just installed CP4 today, and during my initial tests in the edit view, I somehow closed the vertical roll on the left side bar.

Now I can not find a way to recover.

    Ideas?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Try clicking on window > film (or press Ctrl + Alt + B)

    See you soon... Rick

  • Lost project

I don't know how I did it, but I lost an entire project. The name of it is displayed in the upper left corner of the window, but nothing is in the timeline, but a box of import media. How did I get here? I had a project called, for example, XX. I have an article from XX to copy to the new project + command + C but could not find a way to close XX. With no part of the selected XX, I was exploring opportunities in project, events, new projects, etc. In any case, I'm sure, did I clicked remove all or anything that looks like delete. I create a new project, YY and tried to command-V of article XX, but that did nothing. I quit iMovie and revived. Now, I can not find XX. The XX name appears in the library, but he has an empty timeline. What a waste. What should do? Thank you

Since you have xx project showing at the top left, then you still have the project. You have an event in the list of library called xx? If so, it is your media. If this isn't the case, then you removed media. To do what you want and then select the section of the film in the scenario that you want to copy into a new project. Use command + c to copy. Click the project tab and in the project window to create a new movie. It will open in the editing window. Click in the timeline panel to activate it and command + v to paste your clips copied.

  • Why the audio quality of Apple TV 4 film is so bad?

I have my Apple TV (4th generation) hooked up to my receiver Pioneer Elite and the audio quality is very, very bad on all HD, its horrible movies. Everything is fine with my HDMI cable, receiver, or Apple TV. The volume is so low compared to the playback of a blu - ray movie or watch anything on television. When I watch a movie to iTunes HD on my Apple TV, I have to turn up the volume so much, but it does not increase the volume as it should. The audio is so different from a blu - ray movie, seems almost alive compared to watching a movie to iTunes on my Apple TV. Its really, really frustrating. Its almost unacceptable. Whats up, the poor audio quality? In most cases I pay more money for a movie to iTunes that the blu - ray of the same film. I expect the same or better quality audio.

Sorry it's perfectly audible here, you do not have something to get lost with your installation or your equipment.

  • When you watch the film, every 10 min. I have to press a button to see. Why?

I use iceweasel on Debian, and every time I watch a movie, every 10 minutes, the image disappears, as if the contact has been lost, but I can still hear the noise. Then I have to press any key on my keyboard to see the continuous film. I do not think that the problem comes from Iceweasel, but I would like to know what can cause this problem and how to solve it. Is there a way to tell Iceweasel or Debian non-stop to this film?
My problem is probably easy to fix, but because I'm new as a Linux user, I would like to receive your suggestions.

By checking under ubuntu.fr , I found the answer.
My screensaver (xscreensaver) was configured to run every 10 minutes.
    Sorry for my ignorance.
    Thanks for your help, iamjayakumars.

  • Get pictures of lost iphone4

I lost my iphone 4. I had a lot of precious photos on this topic. Is it possible to recover and if so, how?

If you did not have them saved somewhere, then no. You can't recover. Just as you can't photos out of a roll of film which is within a camera to the old you lost...

  • Lost my sound. How can I get that back

A few days ago, something happen to my computer.  I lost the sound to hear the games, films etc.  I tried to recover it, but don't know how.  I spent the settings, my computer, don't know what to do.

Try reinstalling the audio drivers if you have the disc driver with your computer just put in and find the .exe for the audio file. You can also try to download the file of the driver from your computer manufacturer site. If you can provide your model computer here so we can help you find the file of the driver as well. :-)

  • audio is lost when the video is imported in windows live movie maker but works when it is open in windows media player.

audio of my video is lost when I import into windows live movie maker, but can be heard when played in media player. video is from jvc camcorder handy, file type is: MOD (video clip)

Just because a file is played in Windows Media Player
does not ensure that it will be compatible with the film

Maker. Might be worth trying to convert MOD files
before you import into Movie Maker WMV format.

Perhaps the following links will propose a few ideas:

Use. MOD with Windows Movie Maker files

There are many programs that can do conversions...
The following freeware is an example...:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Format Factory
    http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Format_Factory
    (the 'direct link' is faster)
(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup260.zip<>
    (FWIW... installation..., you can uncheck
('all' boxes on the last screen)

First, you will need to decompress the file or just open the
Drag FFSetup260.exe out of the folder
and drop it on your desktop. To install left click.

Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

    Good luck...

  • Windows DVD Maker DVD I made has all the VOB files and I need my JPG files that I used to do (lost laptop hard drive)

now, I want to use the jpg to a diferent app photos and she lost the portable hard drive that she used to create

    ==================================
Long message... I hope the info is useful:

VOB (as you know) is the DVD video format.

You can not convert video to a format of photo as
.jpg and retrieve your original images. And...
None... copies of original source files are not
    archived anywhere on the DVD.

A method (and probably not near what you)
hope) would be to make the screenshots
    (capture) video. The resolution and
sharpness of the capture will not equal
    the originals.

The free VLC Media Player can read your
    VOB files.

    VLC Media Player
    http://www.videolan.org/

For the installer for your screen Capture... Open VLC and
Reach... Tools / Preferences / video button / video
    Instant image section.

In the directory field... Search for and select a folder
to save your captures po (for example... you could
Create a new folder on your desktop and select)

TO... Prefix... check the box... Sequential numbering.

TO... Format, choose JPEG or PNG.

Finally... on the left, click on the Save"" button.

Now... Play the video and pause by pressing on your
SPACEBAR when you see a screen you want to capture.

To capture the screen... type...  SHIFT + S

Press space to advance to the next photo...
    ect... etc...

A possibility may be 'Solution B' in the
    next article:

"Excerpt from photographs of wedding DVD videos.
    for printing.
    http://labnol.blogspot.com/2007/02/extract-still-photographs-from-wedding.html

Word to the wise... If you use a software that will
extract frames from the video... be aware that thousands
photos can be made and you can fill in all
your free space until you realize.

    Good luck...
