lost my mail icon in my taskbar
widows or microsoft outlook mail [forgotten who] was on the taskbar - I took the (unconsciously) and now can get it back? Where can I find it? Help please
Hi Tom,
You should be able to try one of the two options:
(1) If you use Windows Vista or Windows 7, you can click on the start menu and search for the email client you use (if you search for the term "mail" should help, you will find the program)
2.) you can also go to the following location c:\program files (or c:\program (x 86)) to search for the folder of the program that you were using.
Once you have found the program, you should be able to copy a shortcut to the original location.

I lost my sound icon in the taskbar. After that I reinstalled IE8
I tried to put it in sounds and devices, but get the error message "program not installed."
I don't have XP CD as it has been preloaded.
This could very well be the result of a corrupted or even no sound driver. It could also be the result of a damaged file sndvol32.exe or missing. If your audio driver, replacement update does not resolve the question download sndvol32.exe from HERE. Save the file to X:\Windows\system32 folder. (Note x represents the letter of your first drive usually C:\). When you place the file in the folder that you may be prompted to replace an existing file. Click Yes. Restart the computer.

I lost my start icon in my taskbar. It can not open my programs. How can I return the icon start? Thank you
Try pressing the keys on your keyboard, or Ctrl + ESC.
If this does not work, my next suggestion would be to try pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del, and then use the (lower-right) power button to reboot and see if it solves.

Hello
Run the sfc/scannow command.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833
Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
- Type the following command and press ENTER:sfc/scannow
The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions
If SFC cannot repair it, you can borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation
read the below tutorial on how to perform a repair installation
