LR3 adjustment brush is RED!

When I use the LR3 adjustment brush, it makes a RED box where the brush. I can't turn off! I set the saturation to 0 and the color rectangle displays a 'X '. I tried to select a different color, but she always puts a RED circle. In addition, it does not perform OTHER adjustments, I chose.

It worked correctly until several weeks ago...

  • Adjustment brush displays no more than "handles" (LR3.2 / Win 7)

I am running LR3 (3.2 now, but that's happened before the last update) on Win7 Ultimate 32 bit on a Quad Core system with 4 GB of RAM.

    Here's the problem I have:

LightRoom stopped showing the round small button / handles when I apply the "adjustment brush.  The same handle is always displayed on the graduated filter.

The brush works fine apart from that.  The big problem is that if I apply the swabs one (or several) to an image, I can not catch their handle to change their more.  Very, very annoying!

Any suggestions short nuking the current installation and re - install from scratch (which is a real pain with Adobe products)?

    Thank you.

Yes, nuking the installation and resettlement are a way to solve the problem.

By pressing H is another way to solve the problem

  • Cannot change the adjustment brush in LR3

A week after installing LR3, I suddenly lost the ability to go back and change the brush strokes. The effects of the brush strokes are still there, but the circle that indicates where the brush started disappeared. Without it, I can't select the brush stroke to change its settings.  Everyone knows about this problem?  How did you solve this problem?  At the moment my solution is to cancel the brush stroke, change the settings on the brush and then make a new brush.  :-(

Press 'h' on the keyboard. This shortcut mask/poster filter adjustment brush/degree points.

Sorry try O key for overlay

Or uncheck the "Show selected mask overlay" on the toolbar above the film.

  • Overlay adjustment brush works not

Probably miss me something so fundamental that it'll be awkward... but...

I recently reinstalled LR 5 to see if that would do anything about the performance of the unbearable. It seemed to work normally for a while, but now when I use the adjustment brush and press O to see the adjustment brush so I can see what was painted red (and therefore subject to changes of setting), it does not display the overlay. It seems to make the changes, but without seeing the areas that I'm trying to 'paint', I can't be sure.

I do not have the overlay has red color, and I tried to hit H to turn on with out masking. It's maddening. It's something simple I did break LR?

(Using the most recent version on a Mac).

The area at the Middle/top of the child's background hand is painted in the attached screenshot. And as you can see, the superposition of the display is selected. But nothing appears. I don't have to reset all the instruments and presets to default settings. (Or at least I tried definitely).

    Thanks for your help!

You have your FLOW set to 50 and DENSITY fixed about 10 so your overlay will be barely visible.  With the color of RED coating, it will be a light pink with these settings, which is about the color on the hands.

  • Get clean cannot delete overlay adjustment brush

I use win 7 with LR 4.1 RC 2, but this question goes back to LR 3.6 (my first) for me.

I do not get a clean wipe of a superposition of adjustment brush moving over it with the brush mode 'clear '. Even after 5-10 passes a few small isolated spots continue to show the ornamental red marker.  By clicking on the brush several times while that centered on a tenacious red task does not remove it.

I paint with a mouse, and in general, use a brush to feathers. The flow and the density are always the value 100.

It is more of a nuisance that as a problem, given that the remaining areas are very small, and I have not noticed problems in the final image.  Yet, it should not work this way.  I never see this when erasing in Photoshop.

Is this a known problem with LR?  Everyone knows similar?

    Thank you.

    Jerry

Because it is extremely powerful.  If it's on, is to select what tricks Gets the tone and color based masked or unmasked.  If it is disabled, it is just the brush size, functionality, density and flow that control only.

  • LR4 adjustment brushes... Possible bug?

If I proceed to edit a picture of Nikon NEF in LR4 using the adjustment brush (any one (s))... and then move on to further modify the image in Photoshop CS5... areas in which I applied brush strokes not wrapped in PS correctly. In fact, anywhere where there is a Brush Stroke... it seems that I went crazy with the Dodge tool.

I don't remember what is at issue in LR3.

When edit you in Photoshop, you should get the warning of compatibility for camera raw.  Don't you select "Make in Lightroom" or "open anyway?

If you check the option "don't show" on this warning, you can lock and then to use the incompatible version of camera raw.

PS - I've tried everything, and I think this might be your problem.  If you edit in CS5 and choose 'Open anyway' so adjustment brush work is lost, if you chose "Render in Lightroom" then adjustments through CS5.

If you have previously selected "Open in" checked "don't show" then try Edit menu, preferences, general tab and click "reset all warning dialog boxes.

  • Basic adjustment Brush Questions

With the adjustment brush, I paint on the area I want to affect. Why might I add pins to different parts of the image?

I want to paint a saturation on certain parts of my image. How to paint a saturation increase without affecting exposure, brightness, contrast, etc. I just need to make sure that these settings are 0?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, leave all the settings to zero other than those, you want to apply to a particular part of the image. So, with your example, all must be zero set apart from the saturation parameter, which could be to say + 20.

Not quite sure what you mean on the pins. a watch pin where you started to brush a fit, and you can of course apply multiple adjustments to areas of an image with different types of adjustment brushes, then you might need paint in this saturation you mention on a part of an image, but may need to bump up the contrast in another part of the same image using another ('News') the brush. Every time that you start with a brush, a PIN is added to the point where you start to apply the effect. You can later see what areas a particular brush affects by clicking the pin - the painted area will be highlighted in red.

I spent some time reading about Camera Raw if I were you. In my humble OPINION, one of the best resources is the Schewe, book of Fraser "Real World Camera Raw", but there are a lot of tutorials on the web.

    Hope this helps

  • Lightroom 3.2 adjustment brush to behave like a "low resistance".

Help... The Lightroom "Adjustment brush" tool ran fine before, but it behaves now as I work with perhaps 10% strength. I does not seem an option that I choose to importance... Exposure, brightness, color, etc. Example... If I select to increase the exposure of 100%, it would be only to lighten a little bit. I have to then select the tool again and back on the same area which does lighten it a whole little bit more... and repeat, repeat and repeat as many times that need to get the necessary relief needed. In addition, you know how when you hover over the small "knobs" on the image and the area that has been adjusted for changes to a bright red hue? Well, now again it's a pale low, almost transparent red tint. Really frustrating! In case you're wondering, if I set the exposure levels to the entire image via the menu 'Basic', it works as not advertised, no problems like this... Any ideas on what's going on? Is there a setting that I've accidentally changed somehow, somewhere?

  • Adjustment brush - complete list under effect appears not.

Hi, ' am a new user of LR3.2 running on iMac and Macbook Pro. On my iMac, I could see the complete list of the effects of adjustment brush, but for the last two days, I see only half top choices i.e., Exporsure to color and the choice of a half i.e. background burn on money laundering teeth are not visible.  However, LR3.2 on my Macbook Pro works well and shows all the choices. Would be grateful if anyone has any suggestions / solution to my problem.

    gummybear (like Nick).

The second half of the 'effects' see you in the drop-down list are custom created Local adjustment presets, which do not seem to be present on both of your machines.

Go to Preferences (predefined settings tab) and click on "show Lightroom Presets folder... ». You will be directed to the lightroom presets folder in the finder. In the LR presets folder, you will see a folder named "Local adjustment presets", in which are the custom presets. Copy those to your iMac to your Macbook Pro.

You can also try clicking on "Restore Local adjustment presets" first, but this will restore not Local adjustment presets could have created yourself, only those supplied with LR3.2.

  • Adjustment brush pine/marker

It seems as if when you use the adjustment brush in the mode to develop in Lightroom 3, the marker/pin code no longer exists.  Therefore, I can't put the cursor of your mouse over and see red, what I brushed on.  Is there something I need to do to turn this PIN, or is it meant to disappear with Lightroom 3?

    Type "h".

  • Question Lightroom 2.4 adjustment brush

I currently use Windows XP home and Lightroom 2.4 implemented to date in the last two weeks. When I use the adjustment brush it creates the lith Ruby mask on the image and dose not show all interactive direct adjustment as I saw it on a large number of online tutorials. Only after I clicked the close button or the adjustment brush are the changes. Then I have to reselect the adjustment brush click the appropriate PIN and get the same Ruby lith mask and repeat the process over and over again to achieve the results I want.  I have version 2.2 original on my laptop than computer works according to the tutorials. Indications as to where I'm wrong would be welcome.

Press "o" to switch between the display of the red mask and the effect.

  • The option "Auto Mask" of the in Camera Raw adjustment brush

In Camera Raw, I saw the option "Auto mask" to the bottam of all the slides in the adjustment brush, what is this option for?

When you pause your mouse in this option, it invites it's for the adjustment of the sensitivity of the edge of the brush, but I don't understand what that means exactly.

Automatic mask is to limit the brush strokes to areas of the same color.  Suppose you had a picture with a red flower on green and brown background, and you want to use the adjustment brush to lighten red flower but does not lighten all of the background.  Automatic audit mask and the center of the cursor in the red as you STROKE the brush.  The mask must be limited to the red zone.  With off auto mask, brush strokes near the edge of the Red Wing could be feathered in the adjacent background area.

  • Lightroom CC - problems with the adjustment brush and stain

    Weird question:

End of 2012 iMac 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5, 32 GB of RAM

    Mac OSX 10.11.6

    Lightroom CC

When you attempt to change a series of photos in the develop module I have problems with Lightroom gel. More precisely if I use the spot removal or adjustment brushes after two or three images, I find myself with a progress indicator of spinning at the bottom right of the image and the screen shows part of the image strong and part of the blurred image (as when loading an image is). It seems that no amount of waiting will lead to progress. All I can do is quit Lightroom and restart. But after a few images that the same thing is happening.

If anyone else has experienced this?

    TIA.
