m6-1045dx Pavilion: HHD compatible

Hello, I have a m6-1045dx pavilion. My HHD is no longer operational. I would like to know if I can buy a SATA III instead of the stock SATA HHD version?

Thank you

Yes, SATA - III is backward compatible. A new portable SATA-III HDD works in any laptop computer that supports a SATA drive, assuming that the thickness is compatible (9.5 mm or 7 mm)

  • HP Pavillion DV6700: Is my HP Pavilion DV6700 Compatible with SSD?

I would like to know if my HP laptop is compatible with SSDS. An Internet search turns postings that say that it is possible and other thay say my PC is not compatible with SSDS.

Here is some info on my installation.

My PC is a HP Pavilion DV6700 CTO Entertainment Notebook
    I am running Windows 7
The PC came with Windows Vista

The BIOS is Hewlett - Packard l58 2008-06-16
The processor is Intel Core Duo CPU T7500 to 2.20 GHz, 2201 Mhz, 2 carrots, 2 logical processors

The new SSD is a Samsung SSD of 850 EVO.

    (1) my PC is compatible with SSDS?

    (2) are there updates the BIOS or the settings of the software that I need to know?

    Thanks for any advice.

Yes, it is a fully native SATA (ahci) system and an SSD works perfectly. With Windows 7 operating system will know it is a SSD and activate the TRIM and other optimizations to the SSD. It will be a version SATA slower that curent models but you still benefit greatly from an SSD. You must update the BIOS on this model, but not because of the SSD. There isn't quite enough important updates BIOS for this model which correct some problems of initial material as the fan operation and resume the suspension.

  • Pavilion H8 - 1287c: is the Pavilion H8 - compatible video card EVGA GTX 970 1287c

I improved the diet of a CX750 Corsair of the 500W this desktop computer comes with the factory.  I was aware before you buy the video card POWER supply might be a limitation.

With the previous BIOS (7.09) I have tried several things as shown below.  I've always had to a screen where it would beep three times with 10-20 seconds between each beep then it would go to a black screen with a blinking cursor, but you couldn't do anything.

    enabling/disabling the VGA Palette

    toggling SERR # generation

It is a pain to change the bias, I have need to use the original video card, then replace it with the GTX 970 to see if it worked.

I called EVGA and they recommended upgrading the BIOS, so I've updated to 8.21.  When the power nothing happens now.  The LCD even lights.  Secure boot is disabled.

I contacted EVGA, once more and they said I had to contact HP to determine if the computer is compatible with their video card.  This is necessary to receive an RMA number.

    Hello

First, change the BIOS settings that you changed will do more harm than good.  Change these settings back

Remove the graphics card and connect the monitor to the motherboard. Your PC starts with the video? If so, then open the command RUN and enter: MSINFO32

Your PC is running in legacy or mode UEFI?

    Hello

    The reference is 681817-001.

    http://www.Amazon.com/15-6-WXGA-glossy-screen-681817-001/DP/B00906G61C

It is difficult to tell if they are all compatible. It depends on where the vga cable connector located on the back of the screen. This reference is compatible with the Mobile Intel and AMD series G6-2000. There is a different number for the G6-1000 series laptops, but it is because it was manufactured before 2000 G6 series and they used different parts for this. Maybe it is compatible, but you need to know where the port on the back of the screen display cable is initially.

  • M6 Notebook Hard Drive Problems

    Hello

    I have a m6-1045dx Pavilion Notebook, processor i5, 8 GB RAM, 750 GB hard drive @5400 RPM, Windows 8 (upgrade from Win7).

I worked on creating a partition on my hard drive dual-boot Windows and Ubuntu.  In doing so, I found that my hard drive had to be verified by chkdsk.  After trying this and portable computer lock-down, I ran the UEFI component tests and found that the short DST Test failed while the successful optimized DST Test.  What does that mean? Should I try to replace my hard drive, or is there a solution to this problem?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi pshuff

Failure of the short test (DST) disk Self would indicate the hard drive is faulty and must be replaced. If you can still access Windows, I would backup all my personal files etc as soon as possible.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP directly with the id of the failure of 24 digits, having the replaced disk.

    Thank you

Post back if you need assistance. Basically, treat it as a hard drive. Don't think you have to do all the weird BIOS settings and I'm not real big on SSD optimization software, even software made by the SSD manufacturer. With Windows 7 and especially that the SSDS work.

  • Pavilion p6257c-b: HP pavilion p6257 c - b is compatible with 750 GTX ti?

Is my HP pavilion p6257 c - b compatible graphics card Zotac GTX 750 ti? If so, what would I need to do to install it. I am looking to update my graphics card worthy games, so please recommend me for my computer parts.

Also, should I upgrade or simply create a new one?

    LegitGamer1017, welcome to the forum.

No, the GTX 750Ti be compatible with the motherboard.  750Ti GTX requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard/Legacy BIOS.  The last video cards that does not need UEFI were 640 gt.

I've built computers for games in the past, but HP has built them unless I can and they work great.  I have a HP Phoenix 860-170VR and I play all the latest series of COD on the highest settings.  I suggest you have a look at it and others built by HP.

  • Pavilion Slimline s3330.uk Compatible with W7

Hi all. This is my firsy station, so I apologize in advance any slides in the Protocol.

I currently have a HP Pavilion Slimline s3330.uk, which originally shipped with Windows Vista loaded.

The single harware which has been upgraded is the RAM that is now 4 GB.

Please could you tell me if this PC is fully compatible with the o/s W7 and, if not, what would be needed to do so?

    Thanking you in advance.

    Best wishes

    Harold H.

    Hi, Harold:

Looking at the hardware on your PC, it must run W7 very well (but not sure 100% on the card reader).

You will need to use the W7 drivers from the websites of RMP of component material individual because HP does not officially support your model for W7.

You can also run the W7 Upgrade Advisor free with all connected devices (printer, scanner, etc.), to see if they can also work on W7 as well.

  • What are the cards wlan 11ac are compatible with 15 Pavilion ab165US (n5R42UA)

I have the 15 Pavilion ab165US which comes with a realtek rtl8723be 11 b/g/n + 4.0 blue tooth.  I want the wlan to 11ac, however there is no not found repair on this model, and the HP technical support has been totally unable to answer this question (I know how to access and replace the wlan).  All I'm looking for is what wlan wireless + blue tooth 11ac cards are compatible.

    Hello:

Since your laptop has an Intel processor and chipset, you can install almost any wireless card you want.

  • HP Pavilion ZD7000 hard drive expandable to SSD? Compatible?

I'm looking to upgrade a HP Pavilion ZD7000 (P/N: DN730AV) for Windows 7 Home Premium, including equipment upgrades memory to 2 GB of storage, and I would add an SSD.

    Two questions:

Q: a solid state drive is not compatible to this brand and model of laptop?

Q: If so, the BIOS would require upgrading to support the SSD drive?

    Thank you!

There are several problems with you try to run Windows 7 on this 10 year old material. The video (nVidia Geforce FX5200 GB) card will not support Aero desktop effects and is known to be buggy in Windows 7 with all the drivers from nVidia available. Second, the hard drive is EIDE, not SATA, so there is no available AHCI mode. AHCI is the only way to get excellent performance of an SSD. There are EIDE SSD. And they do not provide a performance increase, but nothing like what you get with modern machines with native SATA (AHCI) support.  It can use 2 GB of RAM which is memory DDR333. It is a single core Pentium 4 processor, and frankly, there are many cell phones on the market with as much computing power.

128 GB PATA (EIDE) SSD for $175

    64 GB for $80

The problem with the SSD isn't the BIOS, but the basic material. Here is the service manual you'll need if you decide to go forward. The laptop is great and pretty easy to disassemble. It could be upgraded to a 3.4 ghz Pentium 4 very easily for a little money if you have a slower processor installed. This would to some extent.
