Make audio sound like a portable radio - then back to full hi-fi

For a project that I am, I need to do audio acoustics (initially), as it comes from a cheap, low - fi source - and also good audio source as it is located in a different room than the listener is in.

If the effect is composed

(a) make the audio sound thin and limited in frequency (I compare it to the old transistor radio)

(b) make the audio sound muffled and continue with attenuation of volume level/frequency (as if she had played in another adjacent room the listener)

For the second part of what I'm trying to achieve, I need audio to return quickly to its full Majesty, so in a case of a 3 - 4 seconds, the sound quality improves gradually from evil to good.

I heard this effect on many records, but I have no idea how reproduce it successfully, any advice on this would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Steve

There are several things that you need and it is much easier to do in multitrack, using the slopes of automation. The characteristic sounds that you need are limited frequency response (although all you need to do is probably down several hundred Hz bass), distortion and an effect reverb - this probably room in that order, and you must adjust to your taste. The idea is that you feed the frequency range restricted to the distortion and the consequence of a reverberation room short, but with the direct sound denied quite a long way (perhaps completely!) and just the wet feed creating the sound. If you use a reverb where there is a control on the first reflections, especially what you want, not so much the real reverberation.

Once you have set up as a group effect, you should be able to dissolve at will.

  • My PSC1610xi makes a sound like a machine gun when preparing print

Quite suddenly, my 1610xi, almost 6 years, started to make a loud noise of preparing print each new document.  It sounds like a gear or toothed belt is slippery, too fast to count but probably 10-12 clicks and accompanied by vibrations of the ink cartridges: it seems to be related to the movement of the print head.  It will not occur between the different pages of the same document.  Once the noise ended, printing prceeds normally.  I also experienced errors intermittent cartridge, 'resolved' indented and the replacement of the cartridge or removing food.

It sounds like a gear may have almost reached the end of its useful life. Which may affect the normal operation of the printer, which could encourage some of resetting of the power that you encounter. May not be far away time replacing the unit.

  • How to make audio sound from my computer? "Fix It" no reports "no problems found".

Recently, I reconfigured my hard drive and reloaded the OS (Vista Home Premium). I had no sound, but this work has been done, everything else seems to work. Some time before that I've reconfigured stage monitors has stopped working, but I did not investigate cash instead on the headphones.

Go to the Device Manager and remove all the audio, video, and game controllers.  Restart your system and let windows to reload.  This will reinstall all the missing drivers and can fix corrupt drivers.  Once windows loaded, go to the manufacturer's website and search for updated drivers.  Download and install.

You can see here drivers as well. Have the card info its ready when you look at.

  • Make it sound like a megaphone

I'm trying to understand the best way to VO sound as it comes through a megaphone, advice?  Audition 3.01.

    Thank you!

Here are some general tips that should help you in the right direction:

the FFT filter to create a tight filtered spectrum. You want to kill all above 3 or 4 khz and everything below say 500 Hz. Megaphones have terrible frequency response.

dynamic compression. Horn of a megaphone has no real dynamics of talk OFF... using dynamic compression will simulate this better

distortion: a megaphone adds a slight bit of distortion... you may be able to imitate it with enough compression...

for most of biggies are the things you do in the FFT and dynamic compression.

You can add echo If you wish.

    Hi Yonasan AkivaBen Avraham

I suggest you try uninstalling and reinstalling the audio drivers. Follow the steps to check the audio drivers in Device Manager:

    a. click Startand then click Control Panel.

    b. click system and Maintenance, click Systemand then click on Device Manager.
Note If Control Panel is in Classic view, double-click System, and then click Device Manager.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.

    c. in Device Manager, expand sound, video and game controllers. Now you can right click on the listed audio driver. Here, you will get all the option to update or install/uninstall the drivers. Click Uninstall.
Check that if at all, there is an exclamation point on the pilot, it suggests problems with the installed driver.

    d. restart the computer. This will allow the computer automatically detects drivers for devices on the computer restarts.

Check out the link below to update the drivers and check.

  • Make a section of lower song for 30 seconds, then back to the top

I have a song on A2 and a video on V1 and Audio sound on A1. The song starts playing at normal volume, but I want to lower the volume about 30 seconds so I can hear real audio on A1. Then after 10 seconds of this, I want to increase the volume of the song once again.

I know that I can make a cut in the song using the razor blade to the point where I want the song must be lower.

How can I make this bottom piece and not the entire song?

    Thanks in advance

To illustrate the part of the statement by my friend Jeff on key frames, if you just want to turn down the volume visually, as I usually do, so it is what it looks like. Track one is President, two follow the music.

You develop just the track twirling down arrow, the place where you want the volume to start to change you Ctrl-click on the yellow line. Then you will go down a second or so, the chronology and Ctrl + click again. Then you go to where you want the music to start to return to the top and Ctrl-click a third time. Then a second or two on the line do you it once more.

You have now four points on the line. With the help of the mouse you slide in the middle of the line down. You will notice that when you do this, there will be a ToolTip to tell you the fall of the dB. If I remember correctly, a 6 dB drop reduced the volume of half.

See the yellow line on the track two? And the little pointing on the line. I did not a very good job, actually, given that the music should be coming just before the end of the voice and fall just as the voice rises.

  • Satellite L40 - 14F - can't make my sound card works with XP

I can't make my sound card works. I tried to install all versions of drivers, but not sound.
Then I tried installing high-definition sound updated for windows XPSP2 and still nothing.

Ultimately, when I installed the drivers for another computer, I could see a sound card in Device Manager, but I got! the driver and it says "the device cannot start. I installed a new original drivers and once more, nothing has changed.

Is there a possible way to solve this problem?
PS. using Toshiba L40-14 f :-) and Windows XP pro with service pack 2.

    Hello

Satellite L40 - 14F belongs to the series of PSL4CE.
XP drivers for this series don t exist on the Toshiba page at the moment!

I have found that the package of XP driver for PSL48, PSL49, PSL4C and PSL4B model number!

So, it seems that you simply try to install incompatible drivers!

If I m not wrong not the device uses the Codec Realtek ALC660 chip and chip high definition audio Intel HDA (Azalia)!

Check the driver from the Intel page and upgrade the XP to the last State at the beginning
