  Hey I really didn't want to start any trouble. I had just a simple question. My hard drive broke and I got my lightroom erased.   Makes no sense to subscribe to unique application of Photoshop for $20 / month, when you can get PS + LR for $10 / month, in my humble OPINION.

  Depends on if you want all the benefits of the Plan of photography.

  You can use Lightroom perpetual 6 alongside Photoshop CC (with the Plan of photography), but you will not be able to sync with Lightroom Mobile or update of Lightroom, when new updates of cloud are only available for Lightroom CC.

  You will get more value if you uninstall Lightroom (perpetual) 6 and install Lightroom CC.

  Hi Matt,

  Right now you can not buy Lightroom as a single creative cloud application.

  You need to add a full creative cloud seat even if you want to use Lightroom right or you can go to photograph creative cloud Membership Plan that comes with Photoshop and Lightroom.

  Just to mention that plan of photography is not a part of the creative cloud for the team, you will have to buy it separately as a membership creative cloud for the user who is willing to use it.

  When I open the program Creative Cloud to download Lightroom CC, it shows only 5 of Lightroom.

  CC of Photoshop is available but not Lightroom CC.

  If you run 32-bit, you will not be able to download or install Lightroom CC. You will need a 64-bit computer and operating system to run Lightroom CC because it is 64-bit only.

  Check the regional and language options in the control panel and note the settings on the tab 'Formats', 'Place' and 'administrative '. If they say 'Chinese', then bring back to what they were, and then restart.

  In Internet Explorer click on tools-> Internet Options-> general-> languages tab and check the 'language preference '.

• How can I add hair lights to make of this new part of the image hair

  Basically, I do this, as a favor for my girlfriends Santa secret where I shopped picture the face of the person in this picture of Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood. The problem I have is the hair that I had put on it seem natural because I don't know how to add light effects to make it look as if its on the same angle as the rest of the photo.

  Yes, LR 5 catalogues are compatible with LR 6. LR 6, open the catalog LR 5, use the file-> open the catalog

  Note: does not work the other way around, LR 5 catalogs LR 6 can't open no matter how hard you try.

  I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 (which caused a lot of inconvenience to date!) and he has deleted a large part of my software. I have all my catalogs and pictures saved but now Lightroom itself is absent. It does not allow me to download another version to test, even if I can't find evidence of download the first time. And I don't have a CD of Lightroom to reinstall from... . I don't know what to do!   How you installed windows 7? You install a real upgrade or everything up, nuke back up the hard drive and do a full Windows 7 install? Reason is if you have made a real upgrade on Vista, there should be a Windows.old file on your hard drive you can get the files out of and then delete if you wish. What I'm guessing at, it's that if windows.old is on your hard drive Lightroom Installer may be detect in this folder.

• Can Lightroom displays the name of the file in a slide show

  As part of a photography club, my role is to display images on a projector for the monthly contest which is held.  As part of this process, I need to be able to display the name of the file during the slide show so that others know who the photograph belongs to which is displayed.  I can't find a way to do this via a custom slide show.

  Now 'Openness' does that very well, but later "Aperture" will die a slow and painful death as revisions of the progress of OS X in the future.  for example, Apple is no longer supports Aperture.

  If there isn't a way to do that currently in Lightroom so I hope that Adobe developers reading this and might consider adding this to a future revision.  I doubt that I would be the only member of a photography club all over the world who seek this facility in Lightroom.  The fundamental role of photography clubs is to encourage members to put to the challenge and by holding competitions to achieve this effect.  The I am involved in the club is the newest and most dynamic in our State of Western Australia and which is due to the incredible power of the founder of the club (a professional photographer of Rockingham) which constantly inspires us all.

  The only difference is that if you purchase the plan of photography (Lightroom + Photoshop) it gives only 2 GB of cloud storage space where costs less than the photograph unique-app subscription that gives you right to 20 GB of cloud storage space.

• How to use Lightroom in general?

  I'm new to Lr. I use RawShooter years.

  I'm using Lr 3, but I keep frustrated: of RawShooter, I'm used to the following workflow:

  1.) point in the source directory

  Images to the point 2)

  3.) pick up images developed from the output directory.

  In Lr, I'm supposed to do to import images (where?), developing them, and then export them. I'm supposed to use a catalog, but what's the point? I keep my photos in a perfectly organized file system directories, I don't need a catalogue, I do?

  When I start the import, sometimes it works, sometimes remove I can choose a directory, but import the button is disabled. I have pictures of 5 days, in 5 separate directories. I imported the first and the last successfully, but cannot matter the other 3. Why?

  When I export, I'm lost: what images get exported? How to choose the directory / set of photos I want to export? How to resize images (many of them to a size preset)?

  First of all, I want to do the basics: exposure and contrast of the correct values. In RawShooter, I pressed the CTRL key and the tool displayed everywhere and underexposed parts of the image. It is not available in Lr.

  The user interface is so hostile, he does not point me in the direction that I should follow - I can't find my way.

  There must be a standard routine for these tasks, can someone point me in the right direction?

  You really know how to ask a trick question.  The scope of what you asked is really beyond the feasibility of covering in a forum like this.  There are some excellent tutorials on Adobe.tv, or you can subscribe to Lynda.com for a month and get excellent training there.  But to answer your questions briefly:

  The catalogue is what stores all the settings that you make in Lightroom.  It uses a database and images to be imported into this catalogue so that Lightroom for you give access to images.  You can leave your images in the folder structure that you created, keeping tangled it.  Lightroom will not move these images, simply add them to the catalog.  All changes/settings you make to the Lightroom will be stored in the catalog.  The original image remains unchanged.

  To export pictures, select a group of images you want to export.  It will be the images that you worked on in Lightroom and they are your master images.  After you have highlighted the pictures you choose export, and a dialog will be displayed that allow you to define everything you need; file type, dimensions, resolution, destination, amount of output sharpening, etc...  After you have defined all the parameters that you export copies for a reason you need.  For example, I could export a group of images to send by e-mail.  After I sent the images I usually clears the copies, keeping only these original images of the masters.

  It is a brief introduction.  You really need to look at some tutorials to learn how the program works.  I hope this will at least help you get started.
