  Hi friends,

  your Satellite A30 - 151 built in a softwaremodem with an Askey chipset (Agere).

  I think the solution is to re-download the modem driver and test.

  Go to http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/

  and click on Download & Driver.

  After downloading, you will need to unzip the file and start the installation. Another way to install the driver is the .inf. file, go to the Control Panel, system, hardware and Device Manager. Then go into the question mark that is the modem, and tell the driver. Here you have to choose to do it manually and when the wizard you asks to search for the file, go to the folder driver and click the file inf. complete the wizard and the pilot should work

• A30-151 Mini PCI card Possible?

  Hello everyone, I have a Satellite A30 151, which says that the manual site and toshiba, is capable of receiving an internal wireless Mini PCI card, the site lists even more compatible models(PA3300U-1MPC). However, I rang Toshiba support they said initially the cell phone was not compatible, but seem to display of their minds and say that the site must be right. Has anyone installed one of these cards for an A30 151? I opened the slot of the wireless card, it has a slot, but no antenna wires that I could see, swich wireless is also absent. I would really like to know if this laptop / card are compatible and if I would be able to adapt or if he has to go to a Toshiba Service Center? Please help if you can. Thank you.

  Toshiba Support gives you the right information. You can use Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card (802. 11 b / g) PA3300U-1MPC.

  Don worry on on/OFF switch. You can turn on/off in Control Panel > network connections.

• Satellite A30 151: motherboard power connector broken

  I have an old toshiba A30-151 that has fallen down a while a go because of the power connector snap into the power socket. This had happened before at the back of the power supply, but I managed to solder back together. Unfortunately it broke again and has so the PIN inside the socket.

  So after having managed to get into the nitty gritty of the laptop and have the motherboard out, I had a replacement for welded to the. Problem is there is a missing piece. I have a picture of this here:

  It was a picture of him before you put the Jack on. The chip missing normally goes where the right red circle is. Now I have not tested yet cause I have to go through the process of implementation of back together which is tomorrow nights work. I was wondering if it will work without it, if I can get a replacement part for this, or if I could figure out what it is (for example a resistor) replace it with a piece of stock to its equivalent.

  I realize this is probably a little extreme, but any help in this matter would be appreciated.

• USB drive not recognized on the A30-151 in XP

  After a clean install of Windows XP Pro on a Satellite A30 151, a USB device remains in the category 'Other' (after installation of the graphics and audio drivers, modem) for which no driver seems to be available on the drivers CD. At this point, the category "USB" contains four entries, two standard "Universal Host Controllers" and two "OpenHost' controllers, with the default drivers.
  I suspect that the missing device can be a USB 2.0 "PCI controller host improved USB" from another manufacturer, but Toshiba does not offer a driver for XP for it then it should be supported by the OS (?).
  Any suggestions as to what can be and what drivers need?

  It turns out that XP does support USB 2.0 according to the SP1, it seems a pre - SP1 version of XP Pro leads the native Windows drivers is not available. For anyone in a similar situation, it seems as if a) upgrade to SP1 or b) install the hotfix Q312370)

  I've updated my Toshiba with Windows XP PRO/SP2 laptop.
  After installing I found that Windows XP/sp2 is not installed the modem and audio devices.

  I tried to download the drivers from the site and tried to install. I got the error message saying driver software is incompatible with the version of the operating system service pack.

  I watched on the web and found that there is no driver for Windows XP/sp2 version.

  I tried both ways of performing the installation of the driver software and trying to install using the inf file.

  At the same time in vain. It is hard to believe that there is no resolution to this problem. I deal I forgot this site to have the right to files already lying in the site for Windows XP/SP2. Could someone send me the url of the software driver for the modem and Audio controllers for my system (Satellite A30 151) under Windows XP/SP2.

  31116ALL5 (for internal V90 modem)

  They have the same date, September 19, 2003 and are specific to windows XP that should of course include XP Pro.

  As far as I know that you can upgrade the RAM up to 2 GB of RAM
  The bus (FSB) front-end speed seems to support 533 Mhz and that's why you should be able to use the 533 Mhz RAM modules.

  PS: The laptop must support 2 slots of memory if you are able to put 2 x 1 GB RAM

  (1) the chipset driver is not compatible with the chipset
  (2) or the chipset driver is not compatible with the operating system

  It seems that this point 1) is correct.
  As much as I know Satellite A30-151 PSA33E-72KX3-EN supports the ATI graphics chip. Right?
  My knowledge this old model of laptop Satellite A30 escaped with graphics chip ATI or Intel graphics chip.
  Maybe the chipset driver is only compatible with laptops with an Intel GPU.

  However, you can install a diagnostic tool for material like Everest Home Edition.
  This will show you the chipset of s for laptop and you can download the Intel chipset driver from the Intel page.

  PS: Make sure that Win XP is up to date!

  The A30 151 supports 2 slots of memory. You can use 2 sticks of memory in your laptop.
  Also I know the memory can be upgraded to 2 GB (2 x 1024 MB)
  Compatible modules indicated PC2100 PC2700 DDR - RAM.
  I've studied a bit and found that these modules are supported:
  PC2700 256 MB (PA3311U - 1 M 25)
  PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51)
  1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G)
  PC2100 128 MB (PA3126U - 1 M 12)

  I'm not sure that the module costs but you can order the Toshiba ASP compatible modules in your country.

  Your subject make me a bit confused. Do you want to upgrade the processor or memory? As far as I know that you can upgrade the memory maximum. 2GB (2x1024Mo)

  about the SD card I have no idea. Perhaps you need to activate the smart card service as follows:

  Start to-> settings-> Control Panel-> administration-> Services-> smart card tools; the rest is selfexplaining since it is sufficient to activate the service.

  It is a 2000-2B80DX - C2N34UA 15.6 "laptop. I can't find information on the date of manufacture of that computer, but since it has Windows 8 I guess, it's a relatively new model that could explain the rarity of a maintenance manual.

  Before the tear in there, I was hoping to get detailed information for spare parts, specifically size screws needed for the LCD screen & Assembly display. It's the only thing missing on the computer screen. I just happen to have a screen, but I'm running out of screws. One could even say that I have a little loose.

  I'm selling my old G62 341NR so I don't want to cannibalize it but I'm guessing that most of the screws required are interchangeable since it is the LCD that I have with the same connector.

  A final question is whether this model is interchangeable with the 2000-2b09ca because invariably when I search on my model that it jumps to the top.
