Maximize compatibility with browsers in Dreamweaver CM³

I am new to Dreamweaver CC and wonder if there is a way to maximize compatibility with browsers I design. The site seems perfect on my browser because I have the latest version of Safari and Mac OS, but other people with older browsers have reported see very different things.  I explained that different browsers display websites differently and has no way for me to control that once the site is online. However, maybe there is something I can do to minimize the on the front-end server?

Use the best practices of the modern web and HTML code and CSS valid.  Errors are the leading cause of browser rendering problems.

CSS - http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/

HTML - http://validator.w3.org/

Either way, you should test your projects in more than one browser.   I have FF, Chrome, Safari and IE installed on my workbox.

If your users have older browsers, there are a few tricks of the trade like IE conditional comments that can alleviate some problems, but without seeing a URL, it is impossible to make recommendations.

  • Compatibility with browsers to IE8

    Hi all

I am relatively new on dreamweaver, or the less inexperienced.

I have an open page I'm working on. I want to create a navigation bar at the top of the page with a background and overview of the images.

The background image has been placed inside the div "navBar", then to get the links, I dropped a 1 row table and 6 columns, each containing a .png file if the buttons have a shiney effect when hit.

When I test, it works perfectly in firefox, chrome and safari, but none of the background images appear in Internet Explore.

The bearings are there but the background is not and this is also the case for my image header and any other background images that I wrote in the div in the CSS.

Can anyone help please? It really starts to annoy me.

    Thank you

    Scott.

Convert your image into RGB color space - you have it like CMYK (ideal for printing, not good for screen/web) IE does not support.

  • Compatibility with browsers

Having a problem with this page and the Visual differences between Safari and IE.  The sidebar on the right column is overwhelming any unnecessarily in IE, and I don't know why.  In addition, my background image does not appear in Safari, but does in Internet Explorer.  Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Sean

    (1) your page is not a valid document type declaration (DTD) on the first line.  Without a document type, browsers don't know how to display the page properly, and it goes into Quirks Mode.

    Modify > Page Properties > title/encoding > DTD:

Choose a document type that corresponds to your coding skills. Recommend XHTML Transitional

    (2) the CSS code integrated on the problem page refers to a background image on your local hard disk; not the site.

    (file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Sean/Desktop/Flash Templates/Getinspired/Flash 9/shemwebsitenew/background2.jpg);

    (3) your links are not just either:

    "a href ="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Sean/My Documents/SEM Website/NewFiles/ownerhome.html"

This happens usually when the site is not adequately defined in DW or when you add some content and links before to save and name the page.

  • Compatibility with browsers in Muse

I publish my site in Business Catalyst. However, when I view in Internet Explorer the foot is stuck inside and the slide show is over the name of the Web site. I feel that I can live with this problem. Does anyone else have this problem?

    Hello

Thanks for your quick response. I think that my problems were because I had trouble with the rectangle at the bottom. I brought across the red line, but it was not to stay. I pulled out of the race, the desired customer and the blue rectangle to make a thin line above the area and it seems to stick in this way.

My client has an old PC and does not know what version of IE it a. I use a Mac and he seemed fine in Firefox and Safari.

    Thanks again!

Dreamweaver MX 2004 compatibility with the latest versions?

I have templates in an old Dreamweaver MX 2004 and want to update my software. Will I need to go step-by-step to a version a few years back and then run?  Or can I go completely aware?

I also can't my old dreamweaver register more and they have NO support for it.  Clues?  It is legitimate one I have the registration number and all the same, but he won't take it for some reason any.

Thank you for any support you can give.

MX is the latest version of DW which was created by Macromedia, before the Adobe acquisition. I do not think that it was never actually supported by Adobe, but definitely not now (I think that DWCS6 is the oldest version still supported). The activation of this program servers have long been extinguished, it goes without saying that the registration would be also missing.

You might be able to use the trick here to activate if you encounter problems with this: error: cannot activate | Product Macromedia

  • To maximize compatibility issue

I use LR 2.5 and 2.6 now for awhile now and finally invites me to post. From time to time, I have problems to import files. If it's a PSD file, then generally I get the old chestnut about recording with maximize compatibility turned on. Which is something I always do, because the LR installation notes told me to do.  I also have problems to import the occasional JPEG, perhaps no more than 1 to 100.  I barely can import TIFF files at all-

more than 50% of the time that LR gives me just the familiar gray rectangle and mark warning. Do not forget that these TIFF files are not fancy - they are boring old 16-bit RGB or 16-bit grayscale sometimes directly from my scanner. I feel that I cannot import about 80% of my PSD files (I have CS2) despite having "maximize compatibility" lit.  I tried tried save the PDF file again. Does not work.  I tried adding a layer, and then saving it. No joy.  I tried SHIFT-CTRL-ALT-e to create a whole new layer of rolled. No question.  PS confirms it is to save a full composite resolution on large files. Don't you think it makes a difference to LR?  Not on your life.

I implemented with this for a while, and now I would like to know if this is normal.  I almost gave up to try to import PSD files, and who doesn't seem right at all.  The problems seem to occur more on larger files (say, 100 MB +) than the smallest, but maybe it's my imagination.  I recently had the problem on a 16-bit grayscale PSD file on which I did a few changes important and re-recorded (compat mode is ALWAYS activated). LR can reject. I just resorted to the creation of a 16-bit gray scale, single-layer file PS (all 1.5 MB) and LR STILL import it!  Bridge think it's very good. Bridge think they are all beautiful.

It really gets me down.  How the devil photographers with large collections inherited files PS (i.e. every last one of us) manage to survive? Please help people with TIFF files, I feel sorry for them.  Maybe it's just a weakness with my system?  I would like to know.

Thanks for tips or tricks.  I must be missing something obvious.

    Kind regards

    -darryl

Grayscale PSD and JPEG grayscale, 8-bit or 16-bit files work fine in Lightroom. I do it all the time for conversion from grayscale, I did in PS using the channel mixer. The only thing that won't work without tricks is CMYK and there is also a limit of 64 000 pixels on a side (see the Readme). I've never seen the symptoms described but I do use CS2. I don't know why this might be a question however. I would suspect major damage of HDD or a catalog file is corrupted. Try and see if the problem also occurs in a newly created, empty catalog. Alternatively, you can try to delete the files from Lightroom preferences. This sometimes helps some people with problems of import.

If you still have problems, post a link to a small file psd or jpeg that don't want no import.

  • What happens with browsers?

I have a strange anomaly. I redo a web site and having as a subdirectory of my site until it's over.

Could you please visit the following pages:
    [1]. http://www.bowzerbird.com/sorop/win_programs.html
[the problem with this page, is that on some monitors, there is a big empty space at the bottom of the page: this "view" is NOT the same on each monitor (computers).] I checked the code and have no problem, I do not see the empty space. Can someone help me solve this problem?

    [2]. http://www.bowzerbird.com/sorop/members.html
The problem on this page is in the left navigation bar, the 6th academic watch SupportFinancial element and is NOT a pause between the words 'Support' and 'Financial'. The links are as follows:
    Teaching support
    Financial support

In addition, these anomalies are not compatible with the rest of the web site that I design.
Please help, I'm out with that!

I noticed in the "strange" things of last year going on with browsers (Firefox and IE) and I never seemed to have as many problems in the past that I have lately.
Using Dreamweaver MX 2004 has something to do with it? Don't have the $$$ to upgrade at this time.

SAT Pro L100 - I loaded the USB 2 drivers received using a prolific USB to Serial Comm Port (Sunix - UTS1009B) a single port USB to serial port cable.

In each instance of loading the drivers message appears "did not the Windows Logo test for compatibility with Win XP. If continue or stop, drivers do not work.

    Expensive branded

    That s nothing unusual.
Many 3rd party drivers have not been tested by Microsoft and the message appears so that the pilot didn't make the Windows logo test for compatibility with Win XP!

But if you use a driver that was designed for Win XP, you just continue and finish the installation.

So, don t worry not and follow these steps!

10.11.2 OSX compatibility with EpsonScanner V330

Check the Canon website to see if they support the unit on OS X 11.11.2. Apple does not have the printer and scanner drivers, these are provided by the manufacturers of the devices.

If Epson does not support the unit on 10.11.2 so be sure to visit Vuescan and download a trial version and see if it works for you.

  • Discrete cards compatibility with HP ENVY h8-1403es

    Hello

My friend wants to change his 640gt included in a HP ENVY h8-1403es for another graphics card. He wants to install a 770gtx but it seems impossible because of lower power, not enough distance to place it in the pc box and has problems with motherboard bios "IPMMB-FM (Formosa)" it seems has no compatibility with the 770gtx series and others... causing a black screen at startup bios.

I read something about the best compatibility with the gtx 6xx series, but first of all, I want to be sure compatibility in the Bios that the models or similar.

Can you please confirm compatibility graphics cards?, updates or bios problems?, also to ensure that the problems of knowledge. ? It is the only location only?...

    A recommendation on compatible cards?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Apply the update posted last BIOS prior to a new installation of the graphics card.  You'll need to access the BIOS and disable Secure Boot to apply the update to the BIOS.

HP Secure Boot Windows 8 themes Computer does not start after the installation of a video (Windows 8) card

The h8-1403es HP has 460 watts power, so if you do not want to replace the power supply then you need to find a graphics card that meets the minimum power of 460 watts nominal power graphics card manufacturers.

If your friend wants a faster than the 640 graphics card then space must be freed up on the inside to adapt to a double wide graphics especially if the graphics card is of the order of the 770 of NVIDIA.  Graphics in the NVIDIA 770 range would require a bigger power supply.

Consult this publication of the article.

Sapphire R7 250 would be much better than the 640, but not in the range of the 770 of NVIDIA.

I don't see a lot of products these days logo on the box of the product, but they claim that they are compatible.

Go ahead and install the equipment.  If you're worried, see the web site of the manufacturer to ensure that you have the latest version of the driver there (it may be newer than the driver on the CD that came with the hardware).

You won't see a lot of products these days with the Windows XP logo on them because Windows XP is no longer sold by Microsoft and the hardware vendors are focusing on Windows 7.

The list of hardware compatibility XP (or what was her last name) seems to have disappeared from microsoft.com, but the following information of theversion of Windows 7 is basically the same as it was for XP:

The "Compatible" green check icon means the manufacturer of the device or software that this product works with 64-bit or 32-bit Windows 7. Generally, you won't need to do anything to ensure compatibility, and you will see "no action is needed" below "Compatible" on the product details page. However, if a manufacturer or Publisher offers or requires additional software or a newer version, you will find a link to what you need and see the details to the right of the link. Please note that these products have not been "Compatible with Windows 7" Logo program compatibility testing In addition, consult the manufacturer or the site of the Publisher for more information.

"Compatible - Windows 7 Logo" means that this product meets requirements for compatibility with 64-bit and 32-bit Windows 7 from Microsoft. To get the "Compatible with Windows 7" logo, software and hardware must pass tests installation, performance, reliability, and security of Microsoft designed so you can be sure that these products are compatible with Windows 7.

Almost always, if the manufacturer says that its product is "compatible with" a version of Windows, it is safe to install.

Microsoft strongly recommends that you stop this installation vender now and contact software for software that has passed Windows Logo test. "then why I get this error? and what should I do so that he can stop? I want to say I've never had this happens in their first versions... more it says its compatible with xp. so, once again, microsoft... why I get this error?

Hey, Yes, I find the problem. do not install the update from the apple software. installation of apple.com it won't give you the error when downloading it on their actual location.
