Locate the following registry key for Access 2007 running on Windows 32 bit (x 86):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Access Connectivity Engine\Engines\ACE

Locate the following registry key for Access 2007 running on Windows 64-bit (x 64):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Access Connectivity Engine\Engines\ACE

In the right pane, double-click the item to MaxLocksPerFile.

In the Edit DWORD value window, select decimal.

Change the number in the value text box as required.

Click OK.
