I have an older IBM Thinkpad with Pentium II. Currently have Windows 2000, version 5, service pack 4 installed. Can be upgraded to Windows XP?

The amount of RAM is installed? More than likely that you CAN, but you probably wouldn't in Windows XP has a little more hardware configuration required to run comfortably. These old P2 are simply not terrible to XP (especially when running SP2). In addition, anything less than 512 MB of RAM and it goes very slow.
