  OK, I did some research and found that this can be caused by several different things.  Here will be a list of questions to information that can help us diagnose your problem.  Then, I will list some things to try.

  This game has never run on this PC?
  What are the specifications of your system (brand, model, CPU, RAM, etc...)?
  What kind of mouse you use (wireless, wired, touchpad integrated, etc...)?
  Have you updated any drivers lately?

  Things to try:
  Update your driver to map his and your video card driver.
  If you are able to access the game options, turn off any hardware acceleration for the sound.
  If you use a wireless mouse or you have any type of attached block, then unplug it and test it with a wired mouse.

" Ive done compadibillity and tried to reinstall it tons of times without prevail.   This problem seems to be one of the dll is missing. Try to copy the computer disk drive hard game & see if you could.

  I understand that this is probably the wrong way to go, but since I don't know any other way, so this seems the best solution currently.

  Freelancer is a 2003 game who appreciated the merits of a hosted Microsoft 'global server' for many years. This support has been removed for more than a year, have been longer.   This is incorrect, as Freespace 2 has * nothing * to do with Microsoft, it was developed by Volition, Inc. and published by Interplay.

  I try to play the new free version of Mechwarrior 4 mercenaries under Windows 7 Edition family. I have two rules in the firewall that must allow all TCP/UDP traffic with. But the firewall drops all relevant UDP traffic for this connection:
