Media Cache files / Media Cache database / Scratchdisk on SSD?

Hello

I have a 120 GB SSD in my C: drive use.

"Media Cache files" and "Database Cache" sit enabled by default on C: drive - which is in my case an SSD that is faster than my 7200 RPM D: drive.

Default location of the scratchdisk is in the project plan, who are always on the 7200 RPM D: drive.

Now my question: what files should I keep on the SSD drive - and which ones on 7200 RPM drive? The better course would be to have everything on the SSD, but the simple truth is his only 120 GB and more than half is used for etc system files already.

I get a noticeable performance improvement if I use the SSD as scratchdisk?

I get a noticeable performance loss if I use 7200 RPM disk for my media and Database Cache files?

Also more information on this topic: when (any drive) are media and automatically deleted database Cache files? How does this work, because if it does delete anything automatically, after 30 projects your computer must be complete with these media Cache files...

And the same question for the scratschdisk? Although I imagine that you must do it manually since its in the draft card anyway.

I thank all!

Mambo

# The advantage of speed of SSDS is primarily marketing hype and not noticeable when editing. Comprehensive tests with conventional 8 versus 8 7200 drives SSD in a raid showed no benefit at all, in fact it was even a bit slower than conventional disks.

  • Hide media and Database Cache doesn't exist in common folder, still make my full boot drive

    Hello guys,.

    I have this problem.

I use MacBook Pro and when you work with AP, I always put scratch disk settings on my external drive. But I noticed that my mac is almost full.

Google search, I learned that it might be because the media Cache and Cache database stacked over time. So, I tried to follow the suggested location:

    Uuse / my user/Library/Application Support / Adobe / Common

(it's also what suggests, my settings preferably AP/media)

the thing is, the library folder is not in the users folder, but right in MacintoshHD, so the location of the shared folder on my Mac is here:

    MacintoshHD/Library/Adobe/Common

but there is no support at all files the folder. The only thing in common folder is Plug-ins with MediaCore folder, which is empty.

Anyone would have to notify where my Cache of media can be?

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANY ADVICE OR YOU ADVISE.

    Paul

    Thank you. I found it.

Please, I have just one more quick question:

can I delete Cache media files while I'm still working on projects of the HA? Or should I expect, that all of my current projects are complete, avoiding loss of data of important project?

THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your support,

  • Download any file in the database column

    Hi all

Is it possible that I can download any file in a column of data?

I use oracle forms 6i and oracle database 10g.

    Kind regards

    Dear Sir

You can select the built-in file using GET_FILE_NAME. And then copy the file into the database using HOST Directory integrated (using the CMD). After you copy the file in the database directory, you can call the procedure of database to update the database file.

  • .txt or CSV file to the database

    Hi-

I have a file of text generated by a Pulse Oximeter, what I want is, as the system is receiving the file (CSV .txt) he automaticly walked into a MySql or SQL Server database and generates an SMS message. Thank you

    Concerning

    Tayyab Hussain

Web services involve using sychronous communication. However, the use case you describe means that asynchronous, the so-called fire-and-forget, communication is better suited to your needs.

For example, with sychronous communication, the system ignores the exact moment where in a TXT or CSV file will come. Also, when the Treaty system a file, all the other treatments waits until the system ends. This can cause synchronization problems if multiple files enter the system in quick succession.

ColdFusion is an asynchronous solution that fits the requirements of your use case. The following methods will allow you to receive the file to automatically enter data and generate an SMS message. Use the DirectoryWatcher gateway in ColdFusion to monitor the directory in which the TXT or CSV files are deleted and events of ColdFusion SMS gateway to send SMS messages.

Whenever a third party files a file in the directory, an event is triggered, setting the DirectoryWatcher in action. Set up a query to the onAdd of listener of the DirectoryWatcher CFC method to store the file in the database.  Following the request, use the sendGatewayMessage method to send the SMS message.

  • Download the contents of the MS XL file in the database

    Hello

I want to import the contents of the MS xls file into my database using the input file component... I use jdev 11.1.1.3.0

Thanks in advance for your help.

The inputFile would get only your file for middleware - then you need to write code to scan your XLS file and bring it into the DB.
Search the POI library for utilities that can analyze XLS files.

  • Caveat on the multimedia server "Media Server database is inconsistent"

    Hello

Does anyone have any documentation about this warning that occur on VSMS (Media Server)?

    Description: Database server is inconsistent

Detail: Couldn't update saving SMD file with record id of the repository. Check the save location in the database of the media server.

I searched on google but still can't find documentation on this subject of warning.

The VSMS and VSOM are not co-located and version 7.6.0. The platform OS is RedHat Enterprise Linux Server version 6.4 (Santiago).

    Thank you in advance.

It combined not for the 7.6 VSM 1 fix and there is no Bug id created this question.

Just an intern created the script of BU, who has been synchronized with VSOM server status can be reset to clear the incompatible database errors.

    Solution:

To control the problem, check the recording_location table in the database VSMS to check all video repositories are correctly by running the following database query:

    # sudo UMS EI /usr/BWhttpd/mysql/bin/mysql--defaults-file=/usr/BWhttpd/mysql/ums/ums.cnf ' select l.name, t.name as 'Type', s.name 'State' of recording_location l, recording_location_type t, admin_states s where l.type = t.enum_value and l.admin_state = s.enum_value order by l.name, t.name;

    +----------+---------------+---------+
    | name | type | State |
    +----------+---------------+---------+
    | /media2 | Media | permit |
    | failover | remote_server | permit |
    +----------+---------------+---------+

++ To add the missing partitions, download the dbinconsistent.zip file attached below and download the file on the server of the VSM.  Unzip the file and run the script on VSMS database server:

    # Unzip dbinconsistent.zip

    # sudo /usr/BWhttpd/mysql/bin/mysql--defaults-file=/usr/BWhttpd/mysql/ums/ums.cnf UMS EI "delete from recording_location where name = 'failover ';
    # sudo /usr/BWhttpd/mysql/bin/mysql--defaults-file=/usr/BWhttpd/mysql/ums/ums.cnf UMS<>

Then restart the VSM software on the server.  When the server comes and it has synchronized with VSOM server status can be reset to clear the incompatible database errors.

    Hope this explanation helps you.

  • cache database low hit ratio (85%)

    Hi guys,.

I understand that db high cache hit ratio is no indication that the database is in good health.
The database could be other 'physical' readings due to the listen SQL.

However, can you explain why a ratio / low cache access cannot indicate that the db is unhealthy, such as db additional memory allocated?
    What I think is probably:

    1. the database can query various data most of the time. So the data are not yet read older seized cache. Even if I add additional memory, the data could not be read again (from memory).
    2.?
    3.

I'm reluctant to list the databases below 90% as part of the monthly management report successfully. For them, less than 90% means unhealthy.
If these reports, which will be used in the monthly report, it will be a long article to explain why these ratios can not respond but there is no worry of performance.

As such need your expert advise on that.

    Thank you

Published by: Chewy on March 13, 2012 01:23

    Hello

You said that there is no complaint of the end-user, but that management wants to proactively scan the system. OK, monitoring proactive is a good thing, but you have to understand your system well enough to understand what to monitor. As mentioned Sybrand, if you have a system that everyone is satisfied, it does not matter what is the BCHR.

So, what to do? Well, the answer is not simple. You must understand your system. Specifically, what are the strategic functions of your system? It doesn't matter if these are the reports that the Finance Office needs, measured in minutes or hours or response time on a special form, measured in second or subsecond response time. The point is, understand your system, what is expected and what is achievable, and then use this information to try to find contracts of service level (SLA). An SLA can read something like "90% of the executions of the sales report will daily complete in 10 minutes or less. It is important to structure the ALS in this way, "x % of executions of task that is completed in minutes of z '. If you simply say "task will be always full minutes z", you are setting yourself up for failure. All systems have variance. It's inevitable. Put between parentheses and boundaries around variance is durable and is a system that you will be able to work with.

    So, in summary:
    1.) define critical tasks.
    (2.) to characterize their performance.
3.) working with end users and/or management define SLA contracts.
4.) set up monitors that will measure the performance of the system and warn you if you exceed a SLA.

    Hope that helps,

    -Mark

  • Cache - database at the request of loading

We implement a TRADE-CACHE that stores the TRADE_ID as key and a TRADE object as the value
I have a question related to that.
Currently, we load the cache with only 60 days of trades and rest of the trades are in the database. I use an implementation of dumps for this cache that will load data from database in the absence of cache.

I have a module in the history of trade that retrieves trades from the cache and displays them in the grid.
I can query the history of current trade in 60 days of cache using filters. But if I need to make requests for trades more than 60 days (for example 6 months before), so how should I do? Because the filter will not raise the load method of the dumps. And I don't know the TRADE_IDs in advance for these historic trades.

Did someone come on something like that? I need to know how to design the cache to handle scenarios like this

    Thank you!

.. query the db for the keys, and then use them to extract the data in the cache.

It is a model that we see used quite often, especially for when all of the data is the database and as a part of this same series of data in the cache.

  • Where (drive, folder, file name) are database files that store information to catalog such as tags and changed the dates in the 13 elements?

I want just the datebae file which contains the data of the backup catalog.  I can't find it in the 13 elements but could not in 10 items.  Is it hidden in a secret file with a secret name?  Why?

The catalog is a file containing the main database (catalog.pse13db), the cache of thumbnails (thumb.5.cache) and other files and subfolders. To save a catalog, you save the entire catalog with its subfolders. Note that if you do not save the thumbnail cache (which is the largest element in the catalog), it will be rebuilt automatically.

In all versions of elements, Win or Mac, you can find its location on the menu: help/information system.

By default, it is in a folder hidden in Windows.

Why? I don't know, but you can tell Windows Explorer to show hidden files. It is up to you; I always do.

The catalog must always be in the default location? Not at all. You can move it elsewhere. For example, you can maintain your catalogue and your picture library on an external drive. Then, watch as catalog manager being "custom position".

What follows is not in your question, but I assume you are asking only for backup purposes. If you have an external backup system, you must include the catalog folder. It is not enough if you want to restore to another computer or a drive, because the original is dead. The catalog stores the location of the image files with respect to the path, but also for the internal serial number of the drive. Change drive means that all the files appear 'disappeared' or 'disconnected' and you will have to run a procedure to "reconnect". Reconnection is necessary if you are using the internal backup/restore process in the Organizer.

Using Backup, Restore to move the catalog | Organizer | Elements 6 or later version

If you are not in the case of an accident, but you simply want to update (enclosed updated version PES), the integrated system is ideal.

Other backup systems have their advantages. I use SyncToy Windows after each session of significant change and the backup of the organiser at regular intervals.

  • put the offline data file when the database is in NOARCHIVELOG mode

    * In NOARCHIVELOG mode are we really drop the data file to use the offline data file? You please tell me the effect of the dropkeyword.

Oracle protects you. Please review ARCHIVELOG and NOARCHIVELOG mode.

When you take the database offline in NOARCHIVELOG mode:

    (1) the file is offline

    (2) the RCS in which you took the database offline will be is more to be in the online redo logs

    (3) at this point, you need to perform a media recovery to enable again the file online (ie. restore the database)

So you can see why you shouldn't do that.

The DROP Offline command does not actually remove the data file. It removes the control file file details and updates the offline data file. It can be used for purposes of recovery or when you actually plan on deleting data files.
