Media Center Guide 'no data available '.

I noticed that every now and then I see "No Data available" for some channels in the guide. Its random when it happens and what channels show it. The only way that I can't bring back data is to go in the guide editor and make a small change and keep the guide. After recording, the guide is complete again. After a week or two, the same problem is back. Could be timed with the release of the automatic guide.

The channales than what is happening on are on my list dishnetwork.

Thoughts?

If this value is the cause might find you it under Add/Remove programs? If, then uninstall it and check again the question.

You can also "Run Setup Again" [Open WMC > tasks > settings > General > Windows Media Center Setup > run Setup again]

Can I update my Guide in Media Center - without any error, but almost all my channels will display "no data available" from the 01.01.2013. Everything worked perfectly until now.

It seems to have been a cut-off time.

After forcing an update of the guide to update now

  • Windows Media Center Guide not updated lists of TV of Zap2It passed tuesday.21.07.15

Overview: Windows Media Center (WMC) is provided to ads of TV via the WMC Guide, of Zap2It.  If you go on the website of Zap2It TV listings *, about 2 weeks ago from future TV ads.  When the WMC Guide is set to day, & functions correctly, these same 2 weeks of TV programs are downloaded into WMC.  If we could use the Zap2It site to schedule the recording of television programs, then we would not need the WMC Guide to download.

It is very early Sunday asof this announcement; the WMC Guide didn't really update for about 9 days... There's only TV ads through Tuesday, in about 3 days.  The update of the WMC Guide seems to work fine, it connects with the site or the source or whatever/where he gets the Guide of... but they say, "The PSE Listing is already up to date", even if, obviously, is NOT "up-to-date".  I'm getting now, 'you only have 3 days of registration!, you must update the Guide!' scare-messages every time I go to the WMC, and I click on update the Guide, but all also when I manually run it, just as when WMC runs automatically update Guide, it isn't actually updated!

To be clear: I use Win7Pro64bit; -ALL-all the updates, Windows software & if not, are daily checked & constantly kept up to date; There has been no changes to the computer, & it works like a dream; WMC works the same, the update of the WMC Guide works exactly the same, the only exception being that, "that the EPG Listings package is already updated" thing, when he has actually updated the WMC Guide.

So Please do not post those standard, boilerplate answers for updating Windows & or by disabling caches & or such other hoax explosive...  The problem is almost certainly with the Microsoft, Windows, WMC, Zap2It interface.

You can go on the site Web of Zap2It * yourself!, go!, see for yourself!, the next 2 weeks of TV programs are here!...

... then, why are not those TV ads- already & always present -are actually downloaded to WMC?, why isn't the WMC Guide updated?

    ... Thank you!

  • How can I get the Windows 7 Media Center guide to update the channel list.

I noticed that lists of TV channels in Windows 7 Media Center guide are incomplete.  Not all available channels are appearing.  They disappeared for some time.  I checked the lists online of zapsit and they contain the missing strings.  The program zap2it descriptions are more precise than what appears in the Media Center guide.
How can I get the added missing channels?

    Hello Jen_1918,

I suggest that scan you SFC [SFC system] on the computer that would be a system file corrupt on the computer search and replace.

    a. click Start, click run, type cmd in the Open box and then click OK.

    b. at the command prompt, type sfc/scannow, and then press ENTER.

Note: Could you prompt to insert the Windows XP CD.

The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

  • Windows Media Center Guide does not correct list shows

I use a Vista Home Premium, the other day I reformatted my computer because I had problems with it. everything went well and media center opens and works very well. However, it used correctly list indicated in the guide, no matter what I do, and it worked properly before the reformat. The channels are listed correctly, if TBS is supposed to be on channel 2, according to the guide, is, therefore, when I go to channel 2 I am indeed on TBS station, BUT even if the show is listed as 'Home' in the guide, which is in read mode is like Sienfeld or some other show. Even when I record programs when it starts recording it will tell me 'Reecording House' and when you go to channel his record some other show is apparently on at that time.

I tried completely relative to the implementation of the centre, tried to re-do ads guide by using 3 or 4 different postcodes, tried to look in my BIOS to see if my system clock is off, I tried looking for an updated driver but can't find the Media Center or don't know what it's called , and nothing has worked so far.

What is the problem with my Media Center? Is an off clock that actually play the shows at the wrong time? I've been home 3 days now so please if you know EXACTLY what is wrong just to give me a bunch of things to try, and I'll try them

    Thank you

    -Eric

    Hi eps3742,

This can happen if the media center guide downloads information guide incorrect.
I suggest that you try to re installation guide and download the guide for registration again and check if it works.

To set up the Guide listings

To find your favorite programs more easily, you can configure your Guide lists to match your local service provider's guide listings.
    1. on the Start screen, navigate to tasks, click settings, click TV, click Guide, and then click Set Up Guide ads.
    2. follow the instructions on the screen to configure the list of Guide for your region.

If you are prompted to select a TV provider and you do not know which one to select, control a recent draft Bill or statement from your TV service provider to find the appropriate information.

The providers listed in Windows Media Center vary according to the Postal Code or ZIP. If the supplier subscribe is not listed for the ZIP or the Postal Code entered, try entering local codes find the appropriate Guide listings.

Check out the link for more information below.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/set-up-Guide-listings-for-use-in-Windows-Media-Center

I would also say that you check if the time zone in windows is set correctly.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/set-the-clock

If the previous step fails, then try to download the cumulative update of the Center media of the KB article below and check.

TV to re-run the installation program - you should maybe switch to a different zip code and switch back

  • "No data available" Media Center Guide

4 February 20114 Hi, I'm in London, I have two machines Vista Home Premium and a Windows 7 computer. I use a tuner TV USB Hauppauge on each of them. Everything worked well until the middle of December 2013. After updating the Guide two Vista machines now show "No data available" for some of the channels including BBC1, ITV, channel 5 and many others. I can receive the channels but not see their guide ads. The EPG Hauppauge also works fine on Vista machines. The Windows 7 machine is not affected and displays complete information.

I see this fault happened in January 2013, and it was a result of Microsoft to not renew their contract with Red Bee. I visited Red Bee (they are close to me) but they don't know about this topic and say that they do not have a contract for the end user of Microsoft verification.

I have tried everything I can think of including Windows Vista Factory reload, change of postal code, change the transmitter and c and nothing seems to work. I lost days trying to find an answer to this, and he sends me nuts!.

Please someone knows how to fix this?

    Thank you

    GuyofLondon

  • Vista Ultimate 64 Media Center Guide showing now "No Data available" on all THE TRACKS!

At Microsoft, Please will someone give me a solution to this? I see other users having the same problems, but none of the solutions have worked on my system.

Problem: The guide in my Vista Ultimate 64 Media Center went to the indication "No Data available" on two large local stations to show on all THE stations, making it unusable guide and the Media Center unprogrammable.
The Media Center and the Guide were great features and additions to my ATSC OTA television until mid-June, when this two station (and their substrings) launches it first stood. Now it's total.

I downloaded both MCETVPack Windows6. 0-KB966315-x 64.msu and Windows6. 0-KB967632-x 64.msu , but the TWO open a dialog box reading "this update does not apply to your system."

I tried to configure my TV options in Media Center repeatedly, but this does not change a thing.

Please give me a solution that works with my system.

    Hi John Pendleton.

Please check that the updates of windows are installed on the computer, including service packs.

I would like for you to try the following steps as well:

Go to the media guide and select the channel that you have a problem with.

Make sure that you can recover the programs before performing this procedure, because if you cannot receive the programs you won't have the registration guide either.

Open the Program Guide and navigate the Canal problem.  Right click on the channel of the problem and choose settings.  Then click TV, click Guide, and then add announces to the channel, click the channel of problem and change to one of the channels below the list (for example, 4Music).

Click Save button. Now click on the channel you selected (for example 4Music) and repeat the procedure but cela suite scroll delay to find the channel of problem.

Click on save and go on the media guide and registration should now appear.   If this is successful, you will need to perform this procedure for the other channels as well.  Check if the guide works correctly.  Let us know the results in your response.

I hope this information is useful.

  • The Windows Media Center Guide data - channels Incorrect after that provider changes Lineup

8/1, Cox left HD and SD of The BigTen Network 263/1263 channels for their new channels 109/1109 in the Fairfax area (22307). Zap2it again (24 days later) on their old channels.

WMC is based exclusively on Zap2it lists of channel in order to settle and watch the channels for CableCard card systems, indicating that there is no way to change/add channels manually. For this reason, we have no way to view the right channels until Zap2it updates the range.

I tried to contact Zap2it directly, but got no response. It is just 2 channels I know immediately, there are more than likely others also. If Zap2it change their lineups accordingly, is a way to manually manipulate the data updates and Zap2it block? If this isn't the case, Microsoft do anything to this topic?

    Hello Brad,

Thanks for the reply and we update on the State of the question. I'm sorry for the delay in response. I understand that this question is related to a bad configuration parameter between Media Center and Zap2it.

Microsoft works with suppliers of different channel to make sure that Windows Media Center is running, but in rare scenarios in one or the other setting may not work as expected.
