Media player 11 cannot play wma, cda. MP3 or DVD-audio

When I try to play a CD or an audio file wma, I get the following message: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with the audio device. It might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it can be used by another program, or it might not work properly. »

Media Player 11 will also play DVDs but no sound. ESS Maestro Audio my laptop card plays very well with other programs. Games pay fine with audio excelling. ITunes and Real Player also plays very well. I disabled my modem in the case which has been the cause of the problem. I ran dxdiag and all withdraws without errors. I have disabled the TSR he's programs except my anti virus software. What should I try next?

When I play movies in Toshiba DVD player I get the following error message: "unable to output the video to an external device. Please check the external output setting after the end of the application. TEMPRO, I installed and tried to install all updates - some of them were for different hardware so wouldn't install.

I get a similar problem in Windows Media Player "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD player and the video card protection decoder. Try to install a driver available for your video card. VLC player works fine. The drive otherwise normally functioning.
