Media player on the taskbar has no icon
Windows media player is pinned to the taskbar, but it's just an empty application icon... windows media icon is missing, and nothing that I don't seem to get it back.
I can detach and repin... but it does not give the file an icon... the program in the start menu is fine, it works... but the icon is missing.
How can I fix?
Thank you
Click 'Start' then right click on an empty area of the start menu and then click on 'Properties' then click on 'Customize' and then click 'Use defaults' and/or check the settings in this window.

Icon for Windows Media Player in the taskbar
I changed the icon of the shortcut of Windows Media Player. When I open Windows Media Player, I would like the icon in the taskbar to be the same icon for the shortcut. How can I accomplish this?
Windows 10.
As you can see in the video, I followed the 'instructions' perfectly exactly, but clicking on the newly pinned icon translates into an 'extra' icon (the icon of Windows Media Player). Of course, the pinned custom icon remains, of course, but another appears. And it happens the same on all operating systems that allow pinning to taskbar (7, 8, 8.1 and 10.) If you can show otherwise I'll PayPal payment for your trouble.
https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=pyAp__HIjLA&feature=youtu.beHere are the exact same steps in Windows 7 and 8.0. I showed more top 10. I would like to know if you want in addition to the 8.1. They are all identical.

I can't minimize my Windows Media Player to the taskbar.
Previously, my WMP can be minimized in the taskbar. But after that I did a cleaning of my registry, he could not want to work more.
'Accidentally' delete all file related to it? If so, can I get back because I like to have my WMP in my taskbar.
FYI, the option of WMP toolbar on the taskbar already ticked.Help, please.
You can try to use the following tool to fix the problem on your own account:
http://www.kellys-Korner-XP.com/taskbarplus! .htm
If this does not help, then I'm afraid you'll have to switch to a new account of user anyway. See the following instructions to transfer your data:
-
Open Media Player to the right off the screen. Media player icon taskbar flashes open to the right of the screen.
For WMP do return to the screen, follow the instructions at why WMP does not open when I run? I only get an icon for it on the task bar. Tim Baets

Recently, I installed firefox on another computer and doing other things, I then noticed that the icon in the taskbar had changed and when I tried to put the shortcut on the desktop, the icon that is displayed is a file folder. I want just the icon of firefox back.
So far I've solved the problem by going into the properties on the icon in the task bar and the icon has changed, rebooted the computer and the icon in the taskbar has changed to what I wanted but the file on the desktop does not, but now I don't want that one, so deleted. Thank you very much for the support provided. At soon BlueWren

1. What do you mean when you say no updated with the latest version for windows xp?
2. what version of Windows media player is installed on the system?
3. you receive this error code when updating the media player to a higher version or trying to open the media player?
Error code 80070005 means generally that you're not quite allowed to iperform the task.
You can open the administrator and check if you can update or open the media player.
If the problem persists, try the following steps:
a. download and run Microsoft fix this article (the same article can be followed when you get access denied error during installation)
b. Once you have run the hotfix, restart the computer.
c. install Windows Media Player 11 and check the result.Note: Running Microsoft Fix that it the article will reset the registry and the file permissions.

Clock in the taskbar has set both military, how can I get that back to the normal time display?
You make this kind of adjustments in the regional and Language Options applet.
Click Start, settings, Control Panel, regional and Language Options.
On the Regional Options tab, in the section Standards and formats, your language is selected.
To the right of your selected language, click on the Customize button, the click the time tab.
Change the Format of the time to your desires.
Eastern Standard time: h:mm:ss:tt
Military time would be: HH
Click OK, OK to save the settings.
You don't need to restart, but I would reboot in any case to ensure the changes 'stick '.
Do, or do not. There is no test.

Hello
Here is the Vista Forums, you send messages to.
Vista doesn't do not part of the update free Windows 10, so 10 would not settle.
The free update is for 7, 8/8.1 and 10.
See you soon.

I do the buttons on the taskbar show only icons, but I wanted it back.
what I did before the buttons on the taskbar show only icons is as follows:
Start > run > regedit > HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics
There, you must find the one "REG_SZ" with the name "MinWidth".
(write without quotes)
If you do not create one in your won with the name "MinWidth".
(write without quotes)
Once you find it double click on it and set the number 56 then click ok and close.
Registry and restart your computer.

When you arrive at the last stage of the search for album information, before you click on finish, click the small globe in the upper left corner of the dialog box. This refreshes the connection to the server. Click on finish, then it started working again.
Refresh a couple of times before that it worked but so far 2 of 2 machines working again on my other maching.
Hope this helps!
Thank you thank you. Sometimes, it takes "Refresh" several times but finally the player "seems" to calm down.
