Menu of Firefox, right click menu, dropbox menu appears

I had a problem with Firefox. When I start firefox, it works. But I can't click on the firefox menu plus for awhile (randomly). The right click menu does not work either. The dropbox (selection box) in the Web site does not work.

I use Xubuntu 12.04 64-bit:

   Linux minh-desktop 3.2.0-26-generic #41-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jun 14 17:49:24 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux.

Whenever I get this problem, I have to restart firefox.
I had a problem with Firefox 12 the problem with 13 and 14. I don't know if the version of Firefox or Linux Kernel is causing the problem.

I tried safe mode, but it does not help.

Help, please. Thank you.

  • Firefox 22.0 - right-click Menu white

Hi guys, for the first time since I use Firefox (and who has been a certain number of years), I have an empty menu with a right click anywhere in Firefox. At this point, I use v22.0. Even the menu file is empty. If you move the mouse a bit on the empty menu, sometimes it turns out all the menu items, but it seems to be a bit random. It's really an annoying problem.

I've seen previous posts of similar problems with earlier versions of Firefox, but no one seems to have complained about the same problem with v22.0. The add-on only I have is Firebug. I tried to disable/uninstall it without success. I tried a Firefox reset, also without success.

Someone please point me in the right direction. I use Firebug strongly and this problem affects me severely.

Maybe that's a problem with hardware acceleration. try to update your graphics driver, or in case this does not solve the problem, or there is no new version available at the time, disable hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > General.

A few hours previously, firefox itself has upgrade the new version, 20.0.

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

  • My 8 Firefox Menu button does not work and neither does the right click in the window of firefox

It seems that all drop-down buttons in the browser, including the bookmarks dropdown in the toolbar and the main menu button (firefox), no longer work. This happened after that I upgraded to firefox 8. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times all also the removal of the preferences user and all that but that does not work. But everything seems to work properly in safe mode. So I disabled all my addons in the normal mode, but cela still does not resolve the problem. My right click does not anywhere in the browser window either. And also, although the menus are not displayed, it seems that they are still there because if I click in the area that a the function button active, that's how I was able to disable addons.

Safe mode disables extensions in Firefox 4 and later versions, and disables hardware acceleration.

    • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

If disable hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

If you select that right click menu context then you block all images from this area and not a specific image, so do not use that.

    • Check exceptions in tools > Options > content: Load Images > Exceptions (for example sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net)

You can use the following steps to check if the images are blocked:

    • Click on the "More information" button to open the "Page Info" with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "tools > Page Info").
    • Go to the Media of the window tab "tools > Page Info.
    • Select the first link of the image and scroll down through the list with the arrow down.
    • If an image in the list is grayed out and there is a check mark in the box "block Images of..." and remove this mark to unlock the images from this area.

When I right click on anything for some reason my right click menu is broken together. The options are all stacked on each other and cannot be read. • Right click menu contextual displayed as transparent

I'm on FF35 and I started noticing this problem for last few versions 6 or 7.

When I right click anywhere on the page to display the context menu, this is shown as transparent (only the Panel on the left side and lower shadows are displayed).
This problem occurs usually about 4 times out of 10 (see picture): in this case, it usually takes just a few clicks right most repeated to finally the menu appears correctly.

I already tried without success the following:
    (1) change of theme window: problem also happens with the default theme
    (2) turn off the hardware acceleration of the reduction

    Any other suggestions?
    Thank you

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.
