Message is: I have the old version of Firefox, and update is not possible because my "system is incompatible. What now?
Whenever I have e-mail access, a pop up box appears saying that I use an older version of Firefox, and I should update. But when I click on the button 'update now', another message appears saying that "your current system is incompatible with the upgrade". So what am I supposed to do?
You seem to have an Intel Mac and using the old OS x 10.4.1

I keep trying to install the latest version of firefox and it does not work
I am running firefox 3.something, I think, and I keep trying to install the latest version on my mac. I have through save, open, drag the icon to my apps file... and when I drag my apps file, it takes a few seconds to do * something *, pings to me and then nothing after that. I try to open it and it tells me that I have to close firefox first, so I didn't (restart even) and when it opens again it still opens to the old version.
Looks like you are trying to install the latest version by downloading it from the Mozilla site. What happens if you try and install by choosing Firefox > Firefox in the Menu bar? Yet you say that Firefox is not updated?
Also, have you tried to uninstall Firefox using CleanMyMac or AppCleaner, for example and then install again? Please do not do this until you are satisfied you have saved all the information that you want to keep, first (passwords, etc.).

my work computer has an old OS and does not support the new version of Firefox. Unaware of this trying ti install the latest version to see, it did not work and I lost the use of firefox.

texhusky Hello, normally these problems are caused by a security/firewall software which does not recognize and therefore blocks the new versions of firefox. If please delete all the rules of the program for firefox to your firewall and let it detect the new version of the browser again.

Everything worked well earlier today. I restarted my computer and open Firefox. The Firefox button is gone. I have not installed new software. I thought that maybe it had been corrupted somehow, so I deleted and downloaded again. The Firefox button is still missing. That's happened? How can I recover it?

I recently upgraded to Firefox 13.0.1 and received the email touting the new thumbnail feature of the tab, the only problem is when I try to download the new feature, I get an error message indicating that my version of Firefox is outdated and the thumbnail of the tab will not work with her and to upgrade.
Each as indicated, but it only opened a new tab with no thumbnails again.
So I'm puzzled as to why it does not work and my Firefox does not show Windows or Firefox 13 in the right sidebar below. -

I have to adjust my cookies and I found the instructions on your site. When I followed the instructions, I found that it seems to an older version and not the new. The privacy settings are not the same because they were once and I can't make changes to cookies may except to remove them.
What I could do, it was to go to the "Firefox" tab in the upper left corner, go to history, clear recent history and so on. I can't make changes to a single cookie. It's all or nothing.

Try to use the topic: plugins page to find the physical location of this old plugin disk file. (Type or paste on: bar plugins in address and press ENTER.)
Traditionally, Windows 64 bit, it is here:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
However, the old version may have got copied to a Mozilla folder somewhere along the way such as the Flash update is no longer aware of this.
