  Well, it could be that Support Engineer experts who are hired by Microsoft do not know how to use Windows SkyDrive...

  Take a look in your c:\windows\system32 folder and see if the comm.drv file is missing.  If is missing, it might have been quarantined (actually deleted) by your unspecified antivirus/antimalware application.

  If the file is missing, it is up on my SkyDrive, you can download.  Here's how:

  I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

  You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

  c:\Windows\System32

  As the comm.drv does not fall into the field of the Protection of Windows file, there is no need to put a copy in the c:\windows\system32\dllcache folder, but you can if you wish.

  When you see the files available for download, you can not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

  When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, your browser is unable to save the file with an extension (by example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

  You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called comm when the name of the file should really be called comm.drv (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

  You then put the files downloaded to the appropriate on your system folder.

  It is not necessary to uninstall your current version first. In fact, it would probably be a good idea to leave it installed until you are certain you have everything works the way that you want with the new facility. When you install Lightroom CC 2015 it will prompt you to allow him to create a new copy of your catalog. You should allow this to happen. Then the new Lightroom should pick up right where you left it. Once you are sure that everything has been installed correctly and you no longer need the old version you can then uninstall it. Both versions are completely independent.

  You have restarted your laptop after removing the VAP system?

  I have updated VAP on several laptops and have never noticed anything like that.
  After removing the VAP system new version was always installed correctly.
  I imagine that something is still in the registry.
  You can check it out and try to remove manually.
  Search all entries from value of Toshiba and remove it.

  If this does not all you can do is to install the new OS using recovery image. After the new installation remove VAP, restart your computer and install the latest version.

  I ve reinstalled VAP several times and have never seen anything like it.
  When VAP is removed from the laptop the system must be restarted and then you can install the latest version of VAP.

  Have you downloaded good PPV for your laptop model?
  Are you using the original pre-installed OS that you got with your laptop?

  According to the description, it looks that you are not able to install Windows XP Media Center.

  I have a couple of steps that should help you to solve this problem.

  Follow these 4 steps to install the KB925766 correctly:

  a. if the 886904 update is installed, you must uninstall the 886904 update before you install the Update Rollup 2 for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. Otherwise, the installation of .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 will fail.

  To determine whether the 886904 update is installed, follow these steps:

  i. click on start, run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.

  II. Click to select the show updates check box.
  III. in the list currently installed programs, locate the following item:

  Fix for Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 (KB886904)

  If you see this option, you must remove the hotfix. To remove the patch, click on the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 (KB886904) Hotfix and then click on remove. Then, visit the Windows Update Web sit to download and install the Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

  b. to install this update, you must have Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 and .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 installed. Windows Update detects whether these packages are installed. Windows Update automatically installs these packages for you.

  I'm sure I followed the instructions correctly but do not understand why I see this message.  I read on a lot of people having problems with JOHN, but I don't have to do anything fancy with the package.  Just a straight line basically install Illustrator in this case.  I finally need so that packages for several products, but this is my first shot at this.

  Sorry, you feel like being to avoid the question, this isn't the case and Liba answered the question earlier in his answer. JOHN is a tool Enterprise Volume designed to facilitate the deployment of CS through hundreds or thousands of machines and for that reason the tool was designed to présérialiser, give some advanced configuration options and create a package optimized for silent deployment slots client without user intervention. The standard installation program continues to provide a bar of GUI and progress for users.

  JOHN is also designed to be used with a 3rd party deployment tool, and we have seen in the past, individuals use so that a notification of progress or installation is displayed to the user if you wish them.

  We will take your comments on board and look to see if a progress bar is something that we can achieve in the future for windows, as it is present on Mac.

  you use the CC 2014 Photoshop version? The new SDK only works with the 2014 version.

  And the extension of the folders and files for a given extension must be in an own subfolder in the General extension directory:
