  Windows 7 (all editions) includes the .NET Framework 3.5.1 as a component of the operating system.  This means that you will get the .NET Framework 2.0 SP2, 3.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 as well as a few post 3.5 SP1 bug fixes.  3.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 can be added or removed via the Control Panel programs and features. You can go to the Setup-program Panel and features — or turn off Windows features turn on - check the box next to Microsoft .NET Framework to enable this feature.

  I think you read the amount of space used for the wrong purposes.

  I have 19 installs C++ ("2005 - 08-10 & 12") that accumulate to about 86MB total (64 bit Win7).

  Adults are between 11-15 MB each.

  I have not been informed to the contrary and assume that newer versions of C++ are not cumulative.

  You will notice that everyone installs it different is a different version, and I expect the software

  who installed will seek this particular version.

  While I would probably uninstall all additional versions if I had the confirmation that the two

  versions 2012 (x 86 & x 64) have been combined, they don't take up much room, so I can't be bothered

  experimentation to uninstall and reinstall again if a software that I do not often do not load.
