  Hello, I'm having problems install the version of Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Student trial.  I had a few problems with the initial installation 2 times and finally understood why (firewall, duh!).  In any case, I have 3 registration keys, I tried to get a 3rd, it gave me an error while it was almost finished to install, telling me he had a problem with the key, as I entered. I have already run the utility to remove all traces of installs.   A new motherboard is a new PC.

  You can buy an OEM or a full retail copy of Win 7 or Win 8 - 8.1.

  Win Vista is no longer officially available for retail sale.

  You must then reinstall Windows and install the necessary drivers for optimum PC operation.

  You could also install a free version of Linux. Ubuntu is a good choice.

   

  You can also test drive Ubuntu. Download the ISO and burn to disc.

  Boot the disk and try it.

  For the original version of OS that you got with your laptop, you don't need key product for activation. Whenever you install original recovery image Windows is automatically activated.

  In the past product key label was placed on the bottom of the laptop. New model do not have it.
  Unfortunately you can not do more. Valid product key is part of the original image recovery only and cannot be used for any other activation.

  That probably was a non-genuine custom made Windows 7 installation disc. Your computer is probably also not a license for Windows 7.

  I suggest you to contact HP and request a recovery media.

  I've had this computer for a while. Several years ago, a friend of mine asked me if I would like to install windows 7 Professional at half price because he pre-ordered 2 copies at half price. I was running Vista and bought from him.   Since your Office 2007 pre-installed with Toshiba, you should contact Toshiba to see if they will provide with Office recovery disks.

  The product key on the bottom of your laptop isn't for Vista, Office 2007.

  You'd have a trial version of Office 2007 pre-installed on your laptop.

  To continue to use Office, you can buy licensed copy of it.
