Migrate from SQL Developer to another machine with all parameters

Is there a documented way to migrate from SQL Developer to another machine? I want that all my preferences (format sql, shortcuts etc.) history of sql, user, etc. connections reports are available on the new machine.

I know how to export/import connections. But for the rest, the pointers appreciated. I'm moving from a Win 7 32 bit to Win 7 64-bit machine. SQL Dev version is 4.0.2.15.

Thank you

Manish

Move your user defined reports in folders. You can save each of them with a single click in this way - to the folder level.

We have a permanent application in the JDev team to build in the IDE, the ability to export/import settings.

You can retrieve the directory systemX.X.X.X on the application data directory and must have almost everything.

    original title: sharing fails file of Windows XP Home edition

    I'm trying to migrate from W2K to Windows XP Home edition (Pro/SP3 with all current updates from today ' hui).  My network has several computers with the help of a working group.  I noticed that WXP defines what is called "Simple file sharing" (SFS) that did not exist in W2K.  However, I think that my W2K installation was equivalent to what we call SFS.  What I shared with readers and only granted the permission reading for everyone.  My migration technique involves the use of multiple bootable media to create the Windows XP Home edition system without changing anything on W2K systems.  The I want to share files on separate partitions of the system drive / start / we.  These data partitions are the same drive letters on all systems.  Sharing works as expected in all cases, except that the new system of Windows XP Home edition won't file to other systems (clients).  All client systems receive the same result which is a message access denied as follows:

    \\computer_name\share_name is not accessible.  You might not have permission to use this network resource.  ...

    Not enough server storage is available to process this command.

    On the new system that is unable to use the files, the event log contains a message that says the following:

    The "irpstacksize" server configuration setting is not enough for the server to use a local device.  Please increase the value of this parameter.

    I found a number of items on this site about IRPStackSize.  An inspection of all computers reveals this registry key is not set on any of my systems.  This includes the W2K running on the same computer systems that are capable of serving the same files that fail on Windows XP Home edition, with no problems.  Any of those articles gives no justification for what is an appropriate use for the IRPStackSize value.  Moreover, some articles describe a situation where arbitrarily increase the size works for a short period, but does not seem to be a sustainable solution.  In addition, there is a range of valid values, and some articles describe that max is achieved without solving the problem.

    Therefore, I am skeptical about the idea that there is a real solution.  Can anyone provide an explanation on why specifying a key IRPStackSize is going to help (or not)?  If Yes, what is the right value?

  • How to migrate from windows 2003 to windows 2008 with all the work of GPO active directory, DNS, without problem?

    Hello...

    I have a problem with windows 2003 to windows 2008 migration. I have try several round of flyway of google and youtube, but he is still fail.
    in the first,.
    I have HP Proliant server with windows server 2003. So I restore the backup to a different server HP Proliant wih same hardware specification. I've been back up the System State and the drive C with NTBackup. After I restored on HP Proliant, that I want to migrate, the DNS server is timeout request and the client cannot join domain. I was surprised, because the backup and the material is the same, but it can work as well as the original server.
    in the second case,
    I have windows server 2003 in HP Proliant server and it works well. I'm doing a replication on this server to another windows 2003 server in an another HP Proliant and works of good replication (another user can join the domain). After, I have installed windows server 2008 to another PC and make the replication of the duplication of windows 2003. And this success to replicate, but not on the DNS (DNS query time-out).
    I have the despair to try migrating Windows 2003 and 2008 because he is still fail in DNS. Another way to migrate to Windows 2003 and 2008 with DNS, AD and GPO work?

  • Migration from SQL Server to Oracle during 11.1.2.4 upgrade

    Hi all

    To further expand on the title, wanted to check if it is possible to migrate from SQL Server to Oracle, while improving 11.1.2.1 to 11.1.2.4 on brand-new material. There is a change in all the components (s/w, h/w, RDBMS) so I wanted to run this generic statement by the forum to see what the experts think.

    Where in the equation can count us on LCM?

    I know that John Goodwin had already answered a few questions on the same subject for previous versions, but as 11.1.2.4 is a different game... I would be grateful if someone could share their thoughts.

    Thank you!

    If you are installed on hardware costs and migration then it should be independent of the RDBMS. Not to say there is no problems with passing of 11.1.2.1 to 11.1.2.4 (if you use planning, for example, business rules-> Calc Manager) but they certainly should not be linked to the fact you've changed the underlying database.

  • The problem with SQL after the migration of the database to another machine

    Having a SQL strange problem trying to extract a database being moved from one machine to the other.  Both machines are running SQL 2008 32-bit and are both Windows 2008 servers.  When I try to backup the database using the SQL tools and restore the. BAK file on the new SQL Server, I get the following error:

    Restore failed for server 'servername' (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)
    Additional information:
    System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: RESTORE detected an error on the page (44:2097184) in database 'RestoreDBName' read from the backup set.

    Similarly, when I am trying to copy the. MDF and. LDF files to the new server and tie them, I get the following error:

    Attach the database failed for the server 'servername '.
    Additional information:
    An exception occurred during the execution of a Transact-SQL statement or batch.
    A system assertion failed.  An assertion failure is usually caused by a corruption of data or software bug.  To check the database, consider running DBCC CHECKDB.  If you have agreed to send images to Microsoft during installation, a mini dump will be sent to Microsoft.  An update can be an available from Microsoft in the latest Service Pack or a QFE from Technical Support.
    Could not open new database 'NewDatabaseName' create a DATABASE is dropped.
    "" Location: "logmgr.cpp": 3277
    Expression: lfh-> lfh_startOffset is startOffset
    SPID:55
    PID: 292876 (Microsoft SQL Server, error: 3624)

    Everything I've read, these errors usually indicate some sort of database corruption.  However when I run DBCC CHECKDB on the database on the source server, it is up to perfectly don't own... None detected corruption.  In fact, this server hosts 8 different databases.  Departure from all the correct DB on the source server, none of them will restore however to a new server using one of the methods above.  I'm having a hard time to believe that each of them could be corrupted when they show absolutely no indication of a problem.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Try to make the backup and restore via SQLCMD (or via a query in SQL Server MS window).

    The backup will be the following (obviously, change "MaBase" and "D:\BACKUPS" to some database and the location you wish to save - just using for example):

    BACKUP DATABASE MyDatabase

    TO DISK = 'D:\BACKUPS\MyDatabase.bak. '

    WITH NOFORMAT, NOINIT,.

    NAME = 'Database MyDatabase - Full Backup',

    NOREWIND, NOUNLOAD, STATS = 10, SKIP

    Copy your backup to the other server and file make:

    RESTORE the DATABASE to MyDatabase

    FROM DISK = 'E:\Backups\MyDatabase.bak' WITH FILE = 1,

    GO to "MyDatabase_Data" to "E:\SQLDATA\MyDatabase_Data.mdf,"

    GO to "MyDatabase_Log" to "E:\SQLLOG\MyDatabase_Data.ldf,"

    NOUNLOAD, STATS = 10 REPLACE

    Again, change your names and locations in function.

    If this does not work, try to restore a database by third-party tools. You can find them in Google. If you don't want to spend the time to research, you can try a tool SQL Server Recovery Toolbox. All the details about this program on the link. http://www.oemailrecovery.com/sql_repair.html

  • Migration from SQL Server 2005 to huge data. Taking more than 18 hours...

    Hello

    We are migrate SQL 2005 DB for Oracle 10 g 64 bit 10.2.0.5 server. The source DB sql server has a few tables (< 10) and only a few stored procedure(<5). However a single table of the source is very large, he has 70 million records in it. I started the migration process; He ran up to 18 hours died while I cancelled it. I use SQL Developer 3.1.0.7 with migration online.

    Kindly let me know if I choose offline migration it will reduce the travel time from data. Is there another tool by oracle that can migrate data giant (million documents) quickly. Will there be some configurations in SQL Developer which can Catalysis process?

    Kindly help.

    Best regards!

    Irfan

    Hello Irfan,

    a data movement with 70 million documents online is really not recommended. According to the documentation of SQL Developer:

    "Data online movements are suitable for small data sets, while data offline movements are useful for moving large amounts of data." I wouldn't say 70 million documents is a small set of data.

    Moving data online is just a COPY via JDBC, while moving data offline is using BCP export and import using SQL * Loader. This explains why the movement of offline data is faster.

  • Copy SQL statement to another database with the same SQL_ID

    Is there a reliable way to copy a sql statement in a database to another preserving the formatting so it ends with the same SQL_ID.

    I want to copy a statement of the shared pool to a test database to develop a plan to import sql database in production.

    In the past, I just did ' select sql_fulltext from v$ sql "in SQL Developer and pasted the result into a spreadsheet SQL Developer and run it.   The statement is now in the pool shared with the correct sql_id.

    This does not work for instruction, I am currently in train.  It ends with a different id of sql.

    I know it's probably a problem of formatting, but the statement is 1000 characters and a manual check will take forever.

    You could put in a SQL Tuning Set and transfer it.

    During the migration from MySQL to Oracle, the string "NULL" is discharged from MySQL in the same representation as NULL (NULL value). Thus, the "NULL" strings are converted to NULL values

    Is there a work around for this problem? (other than the update in the source database :)) MySQL

    Alfonso

    Hi Alfonso,.
    I reproduced the problem using this table MySQL with the following content:
    drop table alfonso;
    create table alfonso (int col1, col2 varchar (20));
    insert into alfonso values (1,' ');
    insert into alfonso values (2, NULL);
    insert into alfonso values (3, 'NULL');
    Select * from alfonso.

    When I now use SQL Dev to migrate the content using the script method of MySQL database offline are unloaded at:
    123NULL NULL

    -online the discharge of line 2 is similar to the line 3 that the original content is not.
    I filed a bug for the follow-up of your problem.

    In the meantime, you have 2 options to work around this problem:
    -You can use the online data migration method - here the content is migrated correctly
    -you need to change the scripts of unloading
    -online root cause is the script of discharge containing fields escaped by = ""-online you could for example replace with fields escaped by '\' and then NULL is discharged as \N. "

    The discharge now looks like this:
    123\N NULL

    Modify this script to unloading will also need to change the SQL * Loader - especially the CTL file scripts:

    The file generated by SQL Developer for loading data offline using the table in the above example looks like:

    load data
    INFILE 'alfonso.txt '.
    « str "' »
    in the gateway.alfonso table
    fields terminated by ''.
    trailing nullcols
    (
    col1 col1 = 'NULL, NULLIF
    col2 "DECODE (: col2, 'NULL ', NULL, NULL,' ',: col2).
    )

    You must make sure that \N is now correctly mapped to NULL and therefore you have to rewrite the DECODE function:
    col2 "DECODE (: col2, '\\N ', NULL, NULL,' ',: col2).

  • ESXi 4 VMs migration from one host to another without HA

    We are facing a problem of automatic migration with VM ESXi migration between hosts in the cluster. Even though we have disabled HA and no reason apparent for migration. We have two virtual machines residing on a host, and the host does not work normally. However, I have noticed that when we have turned off or the other virtual machines and once again, he climbs to another host in the cluster.

    The host tasks log shows now that the migration has been made by the SYSTEM when the power on. And once one of the virtual machines migrated even without power and with a similar journal entry showing that this has been done by the system. This can happen due to a shortage of resources on the host computer even if HA is disabled or are there other reasons that this can happen?

    Hello

    I'm sure that's the reason for your behavior described.

  • moving my SQL Server to another host (with vcenter database)

    Hi all

    I am in progress to improve my environment at ESX4.0. Now I have to move my only SQL server VM to the new host, who is already on ESX4.0 level. My only SQL server hosts the vCenter as database. I don't have a vMotion.

    To move my SQL vm, I need to turn it off and then migrate my ESX 4.0 host. The problem: when the SQL Server is disabled, I lose connectivity to the vCenter server and therefore cannot migrate the virtual computer to another host.

  • Migration from SQL Server to Oracle database

    I have 2 questions:

    1. we intend to convert our sql server databases oracle OLTP databases. I tried to use SQL Developer to migrate a database of small sql server to oracle (size 5 GB) database. It was fine. When I tried to migrate to a different database (size 90G), it takes too much time. The problem with sql developer is I can not pick and choose tables. 250 paintings, I need to migrate tables abt 80 (the size will be abt 50 G). What is everyone can share their experiences, as appropriate, converting databases of size average sql server for oracle databases? other options?

    2. I intend to convert the sql server ddl to oracle ddl. I have tested bcp out and use sql loader to import the data. Right now I am manually creating the oracle tables sql server tables. I use http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/gateways.112/e12069/apa.htm#BABCIIDI to convert the code. Are there other ways better to convert sql DDL DDL Oracle Server?

    Thanks in advance

    DDLS must be converted manually. Oracle is not SQL-Server.

    If for example, you have the option of partitioning, you should consider using the partitioning index and when it is possible. Not all tables must be hash tables. Do postpone you creation of segment or not? What type of tablespace? Set yourself free percentages and allows you to manage when the data block is on the free list and how much is reserved in the block of data to update rows in this block?

    There are many considerations to be taken with regard to the physical database design.

    Using BCP and SQL * Loader sound good. SQL * Loader is fast and scalable - use it to load up to 3.6 million lines every 60 seconds. Direct and parallel charges will give the best performance in this regard (assuming that the underlying table structure and use supports this approach).

    SQL Server upgrade does not impact on Hyperion.
