minimum amount of segments with the tool pen

I have a really fundamental question using the feather in Flash. Is there a minimum amount of segments (or something I do not) that must be learned in order to fill a polygon, created with the pen. I found in many cases seems to be the closure of the polygon and yet when I go to fill the object it will not fill. I then discovered that the start and endpoints are not "met" (as in Illustrator). The icon turns circle hollow when I get to the starting point (as in Illustrator), but it does not close segments.

Thank you

Check if you have your fill color non-empty value. In the properties panel, under fill and stroke.

After you draw your polygon, select a paint bucket tool (K), select the fill color and click inside the polygon.

If the form is (from any reason) really not closed, select the tool Selection (V) and check the main menu-> view-> slam-> snap to objects: true.

Hover over the anchor point not connected until you get a corner next to the cursor icon. Then click on & do drag the point to another point you want to connect with. Snap will ensure that the polygon is closed now.

Now, you can use the paint bucket tool.

  • How to extrude a path created with the tool pen

    Hi all

I created a path with the tool pen (part Brown) and now I want to extrude, but output is the set containing the block (see image below)

Now, I have tried everything, from the grouping of transparent traces, etc., but nothing works.

    How to extrude my way?

    Thank you

    Illustrator_Extrude.PNG

It is because you applied an effect hatched the path before extrusion it. You are effectively 'extrusion' the raster image, which is a rectangle.

Don't, don't. Apply the frame effect to a rectangle and store that as a symbol. Give the desired path to extrude a simple filling and extrude. Then use the veneering of 3D effect feature to map the symbol to the desired surface.

  • Help with the tool pen when moving CS5.1 to CC

I never use PS, but still did not used to the tool pen in CC, especially when compared to CS5.1.

I would be eternally grateful if someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong or how do things!

In CS5.1 I could draw a path with the pen tool, then command-drag on the line between two points to change the shape of the path between these two points. In CC when I ordered-drag path of shape changes but made the way across two points, I am working on.

In CS5.1 only the length of the handles Bezier control altered, in CC length and angle of the altered control handles, which affects the path I want to change.

So what I am doing wrong? I use the pen and the path a lot and I'll have to go back to CS5.1 to do any series and complex path works because I can not familiarize themselves with the new CC pen tool. Help!

Also, with the Direct Selection tool selected see if checking force path by dragging in the options toolbar makes a difference.

  • New path-layers of all lines with the tool pen?

Hello! I am currently using Illustrator CS6 as a test version, and when I use the tool pen to make a beaver (school work), it all end in a single layer. I want to have a new layer-path of each line with the pen tool, so I can remove rows from the layer panel too. For the moment, it's a layer that has a picture of a beaver, and I can't see the individual lines that I drew. When I used CS5 recently I had no such problem.

There is a setting that I can change or does have something to do with the news of CS6?

If you want to see a 'sex' for each object changes the display of the layer panel by choosing Options from the Panel menu in the layer panel. In the lower part of the Panel options window, make sure that groups and objects are both checked. You will then see a 'sex' for each object.

I quote 'sex' here because technically they aren't the layers. They resemble layers and are in the layer panel, but they do not exactly allow options that allow actual layers. You can select and move objects in the Panel this way however.

  • Problem with the tool pen creating a fill when I want only the stroke

    Hello

I'm having a problem. I create a simple spider for a project. Initially, I used the pen tool to make the legs. He worked for a bit, then started suddenly in an area that I has yet to draw with the fill color. I don't know what I did to cause this happens. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

    colorkey stroke.png

This form shows a yellow fill, probably from the last shape you drew.  If you select the form and clear the fill, your drawing will return to black lines only.

  • handle Bezier lost in the closure of path with the tool pen

Can anyone of you teach me please how to avoid losing the first point Bezier handle backward when closing a path with the pen tool?

    aiPathClosingBehaviour.jpg

It is a nuisance for a long time for me, but I can't exclude that I simply failed to find the right way to disable this behavior.

    In addition, C:

For my own use, I wrote some Javascript AI, JET_CloseSelectedPaths.jsx, which closes a path in the way that narrow box that FreeHand is for pre-existing incoming handles.

Read the descriptions on the page, and you will find a few others in the same collection, which even use workaround for things that FH users take for granted about two decades ago. (Illustrator only devout, of course, should stay away from them because, you know, they use HAVE for a long time, so I should not em.)

  • Help with the tool pen

    Hey,.

I'm splitting both handles on a single anchor point in order to make a corner. How to I pull both handles out of sync (just move one at a time).

    Thank you

    Jason

    Hi Jason,

    1. Select the anchor with the direct Selection tool, so that you can see its direction handles.

    2. Select the tool Point Director conversion (part of the pen tools group)

    3. click on the end of one of the direction handles, and then drag a bit.

Direction handles are now "separated" and can be moved individually.

  • Need help with the tool pen

Hello, I drew something. I need to draw a line using the Tool Shed connected to a point I have already made. How can I continue with this point again.

Additionally, sometimes the tool join does not. Why is this?

N ° you cannot connect a closed to an open path path. You can just start at exactly the same point.

  • Rotoscoping with the tool pen

    Hello everyone.

I use rotoscoping using the pen tool.

I used the pen tool for many years with Photoshop, Photoshop inside when I draw a path on a selection, I use the Alt key at the end of each path, draw paths more.

I noticed, when I use the Pen Tool in After Effects, for example if I paint a path on an object and I alt about way it works different from Photoshop.

It breaks the path, rather than continue the path.

    Here is the screenshot.

A new thank you very much...

Again, I am very new to rotoscoping, so I can't say with one, it's better.

There are many different ways to do rotoscoping and different parts of different plans will all require different techniques. Here is a collection of information and resources for Rotoscoping in After Effects.

  • Brush control with CTRL + ALT + click right + mouse/pen movement does not work with the tool liquify (photoshop cc 2015): what should I do?

Brush control with CTRL + ALT + click right + mouse/pen movement does not work with the tool of liquefy; I can't change the size of the brush or hardness. OS win 7 Professional 64 bit, wacom tablet intuos 6.3.14 - 1 driver s pro, Photoshop 2015 CC worm.  2015.0.1 20150722.r.168

What are your settings of GPU acceleration?  As I understand it, the Alt right click size and hardness adjust needs acceleration GPU to be turned on, but I have a feeling Brush hardness is always set to easy when using fluidity.  You can still see the quick mask as representation of the soft brush when Alt right click, but you can't change the hardness.

Is that you can change the brush size and pressure (framed in red in my screenshot) Alt right click drag left and right changes size and down to pressure changes, and you can see what is happening in real-time by looking at the sign on the right.  It works independently of your acceleration GPU (IME) settings, but you don't get the effect of soft red quick mask.

Does this fit with what you see, or you are not able to change things at all?  If not, then I've always found that fluidity consumes system resources, if you could check the Task Manager > Performance tab to see what kind of RAM and CPU use is using the fluidity.  That's what I see after direction the lens above with a big brush continuously for 10 seconds.  Note This is on a fairly quick NLE System.

  • Problem with the tool photoshop pen and little

Hello, I have a problem with the tool feather of Photoshop cs5. I can barely see paths im making. Is it possible to fix it?

Isee the pen tool paths im how's it's just makes it miserable to use this tool:

    http://ImageShack.us/photo/my-images/18/85169959.jpg/

You can barely see the paths (I did a few trails to show the photos.)

Secondly, in the bottom of the file it says "Exhibition in 32-bit only", even though I have windows 7 64-bit and 64-bit photoshop cs5.

    How to solve these problems?

    Thank you.

The thing that says 32-bit exhibition (has nothing to do with what version of cs5 your use) could be here because you have already opened or created a document in 32-bit/channel mode.

You can change what appears here by clicking on the little arrow and choose something else.

  • Where is the tool pen?

It is a very simple question that I can't understand, and this may sound stupid. Where is the tool pen? I'm pretty new to sequels, I used CS6 for a long time but now in DC, I can't find the pen tool, it used to be in a bar on the top and now it is not there. I feel very stupid, and there is probably a very simple answer. I want to make a mask. IM on mac using Adobe after effects 2015.

the first thing I teach my students is "reset workspace. When you start with the software and it has so many shortcuts you'll ruin things. probably, you don't see the tools Panel. Windows-> work-> reset standard space.

and if you want, you can use the shortcut 'G '.

    see if it's ok now

  • How do I move the two forms at the same time using the tool pen

Screen Shot 2016-05-17 at 12.03.13 PM.pngI tried merging groups 1 2 and 3, so they can be handled together. I've grouped them and they merged, but when I try and move with the pen tool they move separately. For my project, I need to be able to change the shape of 12 and 3 using the pen tool, how would I go to do this?

they set out like a vector Illustrator diagram, I've merged them there and imported, but they always move separately.

    Thanks in advance

If you work with multiple masters and the tool pen, you use the Ctrl/Cmnd key to change the pen of a selection tool that resembles a small white inverted V. You can drag a selection around multiple points on a path and then hold down the SHIFT key and select more points on a different path. Once selected you release the Ctrl/Cmnd key and when you go near a selected vertex selection tool appears again, but this time it is a small black reverse V. and drag.

If you want to transform these points then all you have to do is press Ctrl/Cmnd + t when they are selected and you will actually have a better tool paths of transformation you get in Illustrator.

He is essentially on the functioning of the tool pen in Illustrator if you select the direct selection in artificial intelligence (the key) and then the pen tool (p key) and use the Alt/Option key to switch to the top to convert or Ctrl/Cmnd to direct selection points.

BASIC Edition of masks stuff covered in the help files and explained in community resources, if you enter editing masks or change forms or the pen tool in the search help field at the top right of the AE.

If you are using multiple forms on a single shape layer, you can do the same by providing that the forms are curves of Bézier or Rotobezier.

If the paths of the form or masks are on separate layers, you are out of luck. There is no way to change the multiple paths on different layers at the same time. I don't expect that there is a way to do it. Here's a short demo:
