Missing Firefox update settings

In 15 of Firefox (Linux), if you open the preferences, go to the Advanced page and select the update tab, Firefox update settings are missing completely. Parameters that should be there can be seen here: Advanced panel - accessibility, navigation, network, updates and other settings in advanced Firefox

In my browser, I don't see is the section "Automatically update" with the option to search engines.

Hello, what distribution do you use? Maybe in your case the firefox updates are run entirely by the distribution package manager...

    Recently, I update my Attrix 4 g Android 2.3.2 to 2.3.4.

Since then, some of the parameters of the camera app disappeared.

The manual shows the options available in the settings of the camera must be: photo Res, Res video, exposure and review time, shutter your storage location.

But only pic res res vid, exhibition, storage location are available since the update.

Check the laws in your locality. After my experiences with Nokia N900 I found that it would be illegal to allow a photo from a phone without a tone of warning in some countries - so you are not given the option to completely disable the tone of the shutter.

  • after firefox updated to version 6.02, bookmarks, history and settings were missing. It looks like my old profile was replaced by a new vacuum.

Windows 7 on a Dell desktop computer. Firefox updated to version 6.02 yeaterday. When I then opened it, I found nothing, nor the software let me restore backup bookmarks.

One possible cause is a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.

  • Notification of the update settings not working not not and constitute an intrusion into my private life, security and work

I get so irritated by Firefox update notifications interrupting my work process and autmatic on MY computer. So although I consider it an invasion of my privacy and safety. If necessary I will set up a web site to mount a campaign against this disgraceful practice, which in reading some posts available that I can see are also a source of concern for other users.
Even in the best of cases where I could tolerate the choices of a response to "Ask later" which does not carteblanche Firefox ask me in 5 minutes.
It's particularly irritating for me because I have my computer configured to perform automatic operations that then get sabotaged by these notification settings appearing frequently. I really don't want to have to change the browser because I don't know if others are better.
I need a clear answer personal Mozilla thse on how I can kill these settings using my computer within 24 hours or I reserve the right to implement a campaign site to highlight this unacceptable behavior on the part of mozilla.

I also recommend Mozilla only IF they are interested in getting community support to streamline their web site so that users can more easily find how to become members able to ask questions, but uncomfortable for Mozillla.
    Very sincerely

  • How can I stop Firefox update itself if it will disable one or more modules that are essential for me?

I am running Firefox 19.0.2 on Windows XP (SP3). As part of my KASPERSKY INTERNET Security 2013 the following modules (all 13.0.1.4250 versions) are installed (a) keyboard Kaspersky URL Advisor (b) of the content blocker (c) money safe and (d) virtual. They were all active and active when the KIS was installed on 17/02/2013, but a Firefox update has disabled all. I want Firefox to update only if all modules are compatible with him, otherwise the existing version should continue unchanged. How do I get there? What is the latest version of Firefox that is compatible with these add-ons?

BUT here's a BETTER WAY, "Firefox 19.0.2 on Windows XP (SP3)" user--(ou, dele de moins, une réponse moins dédaigneux).

Without fear, go ahead and install the latest version of Firefox. (Worm 21.0 from June 1). Seriously... don't be afraid. But, then follow the 7 steps below to get you back in the saddle with Kaspersky capable.

    (1) right click on your icon of Kaspersky. 2) click on "settings". (3) in the left sidebar, click on "Web anti-virus". (4) in the next panel, click the "Settings" button... "under"Custom. " (5) (put a check mark in the box "Check URLs" (and everything else you want to activate here). 6) look for the 'OK' button outside of the expert group (is not in the control panel; it is behind this), then click on 'OK '. (7) Finally, click 'Apply' (if you must) and again click "OK".

Best wishes to you and happy computing!

I emptied everything (cache, connections, history, etc.). It will not stop. I hesitated uninstalling and reinstalling because it isn't always re - import settings, bookmarks, etc.. You should look at this article on this specific issue and Preferences not savedarticle. It could be a problem of pref.js. It should give you all the information you need!

    1. Enter about: config in the address bar
    2. Click I'll be careful, I promise you if prompted
    3. In the filter field, type Startup
    4. Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
    5. Delete the text string, and then click OK
    6. Close Firefox and reopen the window to check that it worked.

    Hope this helps!

  • How can I stop FireFox update?

I'm a web developer. I need to keep several versions of the major browsers to test against. I maintain Mozilla 6 on my desk, but I intend to keep Mozilla 5 on my laptop and version 4 on a virtual computer. This morning Firefox on mt laptop computer updated itself, and I have to through the process of reinstalling version 5 everywhere again. While I appreciate your efforts to maintain a version, make my job easier, I still need to test against older versions. How can I stop Firefox update?

You can find the settings of update here:

    • Tools > Options > advanced > update: "automatically check updates":
    • Press F10, or press the Alt key to bring up the 'Menu Bar' temporarily if the menu bar is hidden.
    • Use "Firefox > Options" instead of "tools > Options" If the menu bar is hidden.
  • Firefox update prevents access to the NAS web page

Firefox is the likely cause of the web administration of a Buffalo Linkstation Live 1 TB network attached page being inaccessible storage device.

    This has happened

    Each time Firefox opened

is every attempt to open the NAS web administration page after that Firefox updated to level to 3.6.6

With some effort, this has been resolved. and it is the browser of the cause.

Test with configuration as a result of security changes made no difference to the outcome of the error reported. It took uninstalling internet security suite to expose Firefox as being the cause. The default settings have been the "use system settings" option in the tools/options/advanced/network Panel. I never had the opportunity to change something in this space, because I started using Firefox, and when I installed the Sep 09 NAS, access via FF using the ip_address was the norm.

However, when you attempt to connect using FF to the security suite 'not there' a proxy not responding error occurred, which was the point on the cause. The FF network Commission review, a manual selection of the proxy server and if no proxy for local connections was the required patch. He continued to work after security suite has been reinstalled. A jpg of this working configuration image is attached.

In the last 6 months FF suffered a number of updates. One of those - most likely 3.6.4 or 3.6.6 - changed something in FF mode of local network connection management. In which case the same ip addresses in the address bar previously authorized were no longer allowed - all without talking to the user in the update until the condition occurred in operations.

This is the second time a mozilla product did that for me, on the automatic update, and I'm upset that a good product may be contaminated by defects of design and testing in this way. Updates automatic for FF and TBird are off my calendar. If the effects of the end of a change are not complete and explained in detail - I don't use it. the pain of the errors that it is caused is considerable.

  • Windows updates won't find updates for Office or any other Microsoft programs I installed and there is no option to enable it in Windows Update settings.

OK, so I just had to re - install Windows 7 on my laptop due to a disk failure (Windows 7 Home Premium SP1) and hit a brick wall with trying to turn on Microsoft Updates instead of Windows updates.

I try to click on the link "Learn more" on the bottom of the page to update on the line "Get updates for other products Microsoft." and it opens just a web page with a graphic telling me to open my Start menu and click on Windows updates.

Catch 22 is that Windows Update has no options for anything other than Windows. He won't find the updates for the office or any of the other Microsoft programs I installed and there is no option to enable it in Windows Update settings.

Exactly what I am missing, and where has Microsoft moved the activation of Microsoft Updates page too, because when I click on the link need me to http://www.update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/thanks.aspx?ln=en&&thankspage=5 that makes a whole lot of nothing.

    Thank you!

Replace the module signature (advanced users):
You can override this setting by changing the preference xpinstall.signatures.required to false in the Editor of Configuration of Firefox (topic: config typed in the URL bar). Support is not available for all changes made to the Configuration then editor please do so at your own risk.

Note: This pref will be gone in Firefox 44 (expected release for 26 Jan 2016) for extensions currently unsigned user should contact the developers of these extensions and their prod in get their act together & get their extensions signed by Mozilla. Otherwise the users of these extensions will be GROUND come out of Firefox 44. Mozilla has already made back the version in which this new security feature should be activated from Firefox 40 to 44. I doubt if there will be a further reprieve.

  • How to restore old favorites after having made a Firefox update?

I did a Refresh Firefox to get rid of Bing (it worked). The Mozilla site said she would keep important things, but all bookmarks are gone.

Sorry to hear about this. Here are two things to try:

    (1) to restore a backup of the bookmark. The following article has steps to call the restore function. If the backup is not available in your current Firefox profile (settings) file, they should be listed by date:

Restore backup bookmarks or move them to another computer

    (2) restoring a backup file bookmark old data of Firefox on your desktop. Refresh moves your previous settings to a folder of old data of Firefox on your desktop.

Do you see this folder? If so, please check inside a folder named semi-randomly and check the inside of a folder named bookmarkbackups. If you have, please use the article #1 above, but "Select a file" option to restore one of the backups in the folder on your desktop.

    A little luck?
