Missing MP3 files

When I copied the music and audio books from my hard drive on my rocket I have used Explorer and it worked well, until it changes from a removable media in an internal memory. Now, I can not find some music files when I use Explorer (for example I can't find an audiobook, but I copied the other audio books are still there). I can hear the files 'lost' with my rocket.

Can someone tell me how can I find these files?

Go to settings and change the USB mode to find files missing.

The "rocket" has two modes USB, MSC (works as a hard drive) and MTP (transfers through Windows Media Player). The "rocket" sees all the files on the device, but your computer may see ONE MODE at a TIME: MSC or MTP. To avoid going crazy, choose a mode and stick with it.

  • Required for .mp3 files ID3 tags?

I recently bought a rocket (2 GB + 8 GB SDHC) to use on Suse Linux 10.1.  I have updated the firmware of the rocket to V01.01.22A.

I quickly discovered that the "rocket" does not display a directory and file names, but the ID3 data. I also discovered the CD I ripped with Clary gave ID3 and present as unknowns.  So, find mutagen (python code that implements ID3 stuff) and writes code to add the tags I thought would be important, for example (ignore the line TCON for awhile):

    Tuxr. Demento 30th Anniversary Collection (CD 1) = > mid3v2 - list-gross *.

    TCON (encoding = 0, text = [u '(80)'])

The works of reading itunes file, those that I've updated unknown/unknown/track display data during playback, and I don't see what could miss with the exception of this kind (see thread some MP3 files are not recognized by rocket).  So I added that TCON I said to ignore for a bit and that didn't change things.

So, are there other ID3 tags that are a must have?  Another oddity, it's that when I plugged the "rocket" in the Windows box, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Windows Explorer displays metadata when you right-click on a file and select Properties.  However, the files that I have problems with had their metadata displayed.  Open the contextual menu properties, but the data were empty.

I'll try to drop the 0 TRCK and a few other things.

I just noticed the encoding = 3 in my files.  I better go learn what it is all, if things set of character, it could be a problem of ascii/utf-8.

Yes, Yes, I use MonkeyMedia or something else, but this means the implementation of Samba or the transfer of several GB of data around this laptop.

I redid my experience of coding UTF-8/ISO-8859-1, this time take an mp3 file, making 16 copies of it and the definition of artist/album/song/track with each of the 16 possibilities.  I knew that the song would be displayed with an encoding, so I used that to save each permutation.  I used the first character to specify the encoding used in the editing software, so the 0c3a0s0t3 song meant c3 = artist/composer in 3 encoding (UTF), a0 = album in coding (ISO) 0, s0 = 0 coding song and t3 = encoding 3 track.

I don't know if the track is displayed everywhere.  The artist and the Album appear as unknown in 3 encoding and while the song arises to 3 encoding, changed - the top 3 goes and the rest is converted to uppercase.  Odd.

So I guess that means that the "rocket" does not handle UTF.  I think I can live with that, but I have a few drives in Russian, and I could get into trouble with different classic tracks.  (Who would have more problems with illegal characters in filenames FAT, I was trying to use album and follow channels under the names of directories and files.)

I'll mark this as the solution, assuming I say that...

  • Invisible MP3 files in Windows Media Player

After a registry cleanup, I ended up in a strange situation. Windows Media Player 11 will play MP3 very well, if I double click on an MP3 file in Windows Explorer to the media player will start and play the file.

If however in Media Player, I open a file I don't see any MP3 file, if the file type is defined for media files (all types). In the drop-down menu, I don't see a type of MP3 file. If I select all the MP3s files are displayed and can be read.

Where and how can I reset the media player will identify the types of media?

    Thanks in advance!

    OK, I found the problem!

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Extensions the following is missing:

    In the Descriptions:

1 file REG_SZ Audio (*.wav; *.snd; *.au; *.aif; *.aifc; *.aiff; *.wma; *.mp3)

    In MUIDescriptions:

    1 REG_EXPAND_SZ @%SystemRoot%\system32\unregmp2.exe,-9995

    In Types:

1 REG_SZ *.wav; *.snd; *.au; *.AIF; *.aifc; *.AIFF; *.WMA; *.MP3

I found these comparing entries to those for the 32-bit version of media player. After that I added these entries media player launched recognizing MP3s again!

  • Is it possible to change the length of an mp3 file that I downloaded on the internet?

    Hello

I'm not very technical interest, please bear with me. I have Windows Vista Home Premium.

I downloaded a song from Vodafone Live! I thought going to my phone mobile phone as a ringtone, but finished in my music player.  I managed to get it on my phone, but its way too long.  As I said I need only as a ringtone.  When my phone rings I get the beginning of the song, but miss the best bits! So, which defeated the purpose of buying the thing.

Is it possible to change the mp3 file, I received on my laptop to make it shorter.

    Thanks in advance.

  • 41 of Firefox on Windows is unable to read the first second of MP3 files

Although Chrome and Internet Explorer playback of MP3 files all normally, 41 Firefox doesn't playback the first second of any MP3 file.

    Example:

    http://www.sakisgouzonis.com/publicfiles/Sakis_Gouzonis_-_In_Unity_There_Is_True_Strength.MP3

I started Firefox in Mode safe, but the problem is still there. I also removed completely all my modules, but the problem remains.

Thanks in advance for your help on this issue.

The new update (Firefox 42) solved the problem. Thank you very much.

  • How can I force Firefox to download mp3 files and NOT play?

    Hi guys,.

I couldn't change the settings of Firefox in this way, that it does not play mp3 files at all (in any kind of player), but allows to decide what with them for example to download the file.

    What I actually did:

    - changed at settings, that I want a dialog or download any file type and NOT use any other option (yes, all of them - not any kind of effect was seen there...)
    - changed especially all mp3-related options to download
    - deactivated ALL plugins and addons
    - about:config -> media.windows-media-foundation.enabled -> false
    - uninstalled ALL types of mediaplayers (Winamp, VLC etc.), but not WMP because it would be very complicated and would cause several bugs

Many updates before (I think it's up to 20 FF or if) you could simply tell FF, I tried to download the file via the settings and now it isn't.

Is it possible to left I can force Firefox to NOT READ mp3 files in any player and offer my the possibility to download?

Please do NOT give answers like:

    - right click on the file and save it as ... I allready know that and do not want to use that solution. A few years before it was possible, so it should also be possible to directly click at the file and decide what to do with it. On all the sites I want to use it the possibilities are given and not blocked by the sites or implementations itself.

I thank very you much for your help in advance. I'm desperately trying to find an answer to this question for months...

Hello TurZ, please set media.windows - media - foundation.enabled back to its default value and turn media.play - stand alone false instead.

  • I can't import a mp3 file in iTunes 12.4.1.6

I downloaded an mp3 file in a web page, on the desktop. I want to import into iTunes.

I tried to use the file > add to the order of the library with no result. I also tried drag / drop on the window of iTunes music. The file obtained a plus sign and the border of the window went blue, but once again no mp3 in the music list.

So I hope that someone can suggest a fix for this.

    Thank you

    Geoff

Is it possible that the file is corrupted? You can download it again and try? ITunes is able to play?

  • How to exchange a mp3 file with another without losing metadata?

I like to follow my iTunes library usage statistics, and I have a file of the song I want to replace it with a newer version. (The latest version is a more long/extended cut of the file that I currently have). I don't want to lose the metadata of the file. Is there a way I can exchange the old by the new and that iTunes file to associate the metadata of the old with the new file?

    Thanks for your help!

If metadata, you mean the game number, no problem.  Leave the track in your library.  Right click, view in the Finder to find its corresponding file.  Delete the current MP3 file and replace it with the new file.

  • Stop playback of mp3 files in a new tab

I want to open mp3 files in my player of choice. Firefox opens a new tab and play instead.
Made things "always ask" and it does not work as explained in other threads.
Tried to change the 'media.windows' etc. in the subject: config to false.
    Did not help at all!
I know I can "Save as".
I prefer to use firefox the way I have for the past years.
A button on a Web site that is labeled 'Download' should allow me to open the file in my player of choice.
On the contrary, it opens in a new tab and begins to play (if I wanted that I would have clicked on the 'play' button).
A given up hope and installed Chrome - and I have the same problem!
Stick with firefox if I can solve this minor problem (it IS a PITA!)
    Please help me!

Yes, this preference doesn't work anymore.

Media.DirectShow.enabled set to false to disable the built in support for MP3 files. It could be other things, but I don't know what. MP4 (H.264) files always works with this preference set to false.

Thanks for the links. This issue up before, but I could never find MP3 links without Content-Disposition: attachment, so I won't be able to reproduce the problem.

  • How to stop Firefox playing mp3 files and allow me to save the file

I've upgraded to Firefox v28. I want to record an mp3 file to play later as earlier versions of Firefox. When I click on the file, it starts playing and does not give me the option to save the file.
In the Options, the settings of 'application' for the file MP3 is on "save file". The quicktime plugin is disabled.

    That fixed it! Thank you!

  • Firefox will not play SermonConnect mp3 files that have been uploaded to Amazon S3 server using S3 Organizer after 2014 7. Already downloaded the files OK.

Files uploaded to the Amazon S3 server are accessible via our Web site at littlecountrychurch.org. All multimedia files downloaded before January 7, 2014, be played properly on our media page. Files uploaded after January 7 refuses to play on the Firefox browser. To add to the confusion, other browsers Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer on Windows and Mac-play these files correctly. In addition, an older version of Firefox on an XP laptop plays files correctly. We even ran a test by downloading a working of the S3 server, re-uploaded the file file and Firefox would not read the freshly downloaded file, but he continued to play the same file previously downloaded without problem.

The problem is the content-type header sent to S3. The old MP3s are designated "audio/mpeg", which is perfect. Newcomers are designated "application/download", which does not work in Firefox native HTML5 audio player. (The inset on the screenshots is pasted from a screenshot of the Fiddler proxy).

On a normal web server, all .mp3 files usually served in the same folder have the same content type. Something seems different about Amazon storage, perhaps based on a difference in their environment "backstage."

  • Media.Windows - Media - foundation.enabled set to false does not stop the MP3 files to play rather than the economy. I want my file save instead of the rear. How?

I used to be able to click on the MP3 files and they would save, according to the setting in my Options. Now when I click on a link to an MP3 file, it goes to a player page, I don't want to.

I looked through the help here, and it is proposed to amend media.windows - media - foundation.enabled to false. I did, and it made no difference. (Restart after making the change did not help either.)

I use version 26.0 in Windows XP. I had not downloaded MP3s since July, so I don't know which version this started.

Windows XP uses Media Foundation, it uses DirectShow (DirectX). To turn it off, it was a different preference:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste media and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference media.directshow.enabled from true to false.

I don't know if this changes enter into force immediately or after you exit and then restart Firefox.

  • Do not hear mp3 files or audio in Firefox 26

My system is automatically upgraded to the latest version of Firefox on Windows 7 26 and since it updated, I hear all audio files - mp3 or ogg. If I try to just open an mp3 file in Firefox, I see a player and watch the progress of the reading, but I don't hear anything.

I think I've lived each article in support of Firefox on audio and video playback and what to do if you do not hear a mp3 in Firefox. None of this changed nothing.

I found the Firefox options for MP3 that give me the choice of "Always Ask", "Use QuickTime Plugin 7.7.4' and "Use Windows Media Player (default)" and have tried both QuickTime Plugin choice and Windows Media Player choice and it has no affect. I SEE the playback, but don't hear it. I use the volume slider in the playback window, but it has no affect. I can hear these mp3 files when I play them in IE or Chrome, so what is the matter?

MP3 files used to play for me. But in the last days I think versions of Firefox and QuickTime have improved and now I can't make it work.

    Very frustrating.

The current versions of Firefox allows you to play MP3 files and some video as formats H.264 the HTML5 media player built-in.

Did you also check the volume control in the mixer Volume of Windows while Firefox play a sound through the built-in Media Player?

It helps to turn off Windows Media Foundation in Firefox by assigning to the pref media.windows - media - foundation.enabled to false on the topic: config page?

  • I can't download to work - it does not copy the mp3 files to my location (as defined in tools/options) - it gives me a new window with a player - no dwnlo

I am running windows xp sp2 and I put my site to dowload under (Tools/options), but when I select an MP3 file to download, firefox does NOT copy the file to my location of choice on my HD - instead, it opens a new window with a 'player' of fortune and starts to load the player with the MP3 file. The problem is that I have no idea where on my system, firefox has copied this file, so, I can't leave and come back later and read this MP3 file using winamp. I need to hear right then or lose - if I close this new window (with this puny little ' player'), then I lose the download, there where to put firefox on my PC (I have no idea where it is). It's all under firefox 25.0

I also use FIrefox 12.0 on an older windows 2000 machine and that works perfectly - I can download any MP3 file, I want to, and downloads of firefox 12.0 (on win2k, sp4) to my location (on my HD), and it gives me the download window so I can watch its progress and have some control over break and resume , and, when it's done, the download window offers me the option 'open containing folder' so I can make sure that where I wanted. In other words, Firefox 12.0 on WIn2k, sp4 works better than firefox on winxp sp2 25.0! What gives? I went through and set up my options for XP just like I did with Win2k and everything looks good, but firefox 25.0 don't know just my chosen and always default place to give me fortune player and I am not able to actually copy the mp3 files on my hard drive - it's firerox almost unusable 25.0 since downloading mp3 files is a big part of my use firexfox - please help. I am not able to upgrade windows at this time, and since firefox 12.0 still works fine on win2k, I do not understand what has happened to firefox?

Hello littleberry, you can click on the link that leads to an mp3 file or right click on the drive in firefox and choose to download the file like that...

  • What is the best way to retrieve deleted mp3 files? I am running OSX Leopard 10.5.8 on a PowerPC G5 tower. I'll be very grateful for any help in this matter. Thanks to Chris

    Hello

What is the best way to retrieve deleted mp3 files? I had a lapse of attention and I deleted a folder containing most of my music files. It is for the most part, the mp3 but there was regular audio files and some wav files in there also. I am running OSX Leopard 10.5.8 on a PowerPC G5 tower. I have another PPC machine to help the recovery, if I need, but at the moment, he is not appearing on my network (3 computers). I'm trying to change this soon. I'll be really grateful for any help in this matter.

    Thanks to Chris

If you emptied the Recycle Bin after you move the folder to the trash, and you don't have a time Machine or another backup, then it is lost, sorry.
