More local Essentials storage improved vmotion

anyone could do this?

in run run 2 withs 5.1 U1 essentials esxi hosts.

the hosts are a dl360 g7 and a dl360p gen8 servers.

I created a CVS and made the processor at the same level as the g7 countries.

but when I try to migrate a virtual machine on the web gui options are grayed out. If I have the virtual machine to the wide power, I can move the virtual machine.

I open a SR with vmware and they said, oh "rebuild them with the essentials as well as iso and it will work," but guess

the essential fact more must be configured in the same way if you make the standard with a shared storage to make it work?

I tried searching for documents on how to implement the strengthened with local storage vmotion, but all I get is the PR stuff say, oh it works blah blah.

QuickCheck: did you create a vmkernel for vMotion on each host port?

  • move VMs from the local shared storage

We are running ESXi 4.1 with local storage that we did experiments with VMware. Close have 2 new purchased hosts with a SAN for the shared storage, hopefully, they will arrive at the end of January. I need to build a couple of virtual machines to take care of a few issues until our new VM environment is set up. If I create a new virtual machine on my host with local storage and that you want to move to new hosts and the shared storage the arrival of our new purchase, I guess I can do it with vMotion? Other methods too? Also, is there anything I need to worry as move us VMS local shared storage storage and a new host of ramifications?

Thanks for helping a newbie, Tom

You will need Enterprise or Enterprise Plus access to Storage vMotion. vMotion moves a virtual machine from one host to the host running but no storage.

  • Strategy for local data storage

I'm working on an application that allows you to store a lot of data locally and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on whether it is better to write in a persistent storage or write it to a local file.

My application will store events, each event could have anything from 50 to 1000 (or maybe more) elements (as basic data types such as float, long, etc.) that are associated with.

I was considering the creation of a persistent store of events, each might have a name, timestamp and store some info Basic, then bound, by store ID, persistent separation for each event. Would this be the recommended way to store this information. Or would it be better to have a single persistent store that contains everything? Or maybe that's putting too much data in a persistent store and I have to use a store for the list of events with the individual event data stored in a local file?

Ultimately, user will have the ability to manage data, removing old events and/or by downloading the event data for the online storage, but before I look at coding this, I expect words of wisdom on what strategy of data storage that you would recommend.

I agree that Persistent Store would be a good fit at first, especially since you would not serialize the data in and out of storage.

Your biggest problem is perhaps the object handles, because there are only a limited number of them.

Sorry I have been hunting round, there was once a document listed the size and memory handles available for each device.  It is a recommended memory PDF, but I don't find it anymore.  Anyone know where it is?

  • Local persistent storage takes a long time

    Hi all

I created an application in which I store locally 1,200 objects (employee information) using the persistent storage of BB model.  For each object store, I have 7 attributes: name, phone, address, email, mobile, area and position. I store this information that once (the first time, the application is launched), but this activity takes about 4 minutes to complete, I think it's a lot of time. Does make sense or I may do something wrong (not effective)? Is there another mechanism to store information on the spot which is the more efficient/FAST?

    Best regards

    Juan.

It is normal that it takes so long, do so in a separate thread or display a progress on a splash screen bar illustrating indexing.
If it needs to be done that only once the time needed is not very important IMO.

  • Storage for Vmotion issues

Currently, I have two hosts running ESX 5.1 and is looking to add a third. I have VCenter Server is also installed. I don't have a VMotion configuration but want to plan for it. My two hosts currently have a SATA 2x1To in them running raid 1 + 0.

Research on the forums I think I know that I would need a separate storage with iSCSI or FC eith server for VMotion to work. Is this correct? I would not be able to use my storage on my hosts to store my VM?

I read on a few software solutions as the VSA unit, but I did not understand if it would allow me to use my SATA drives on my host. Any clarification would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

You can also store your VM on NFS (we use only).

-one of the main requirements prior to 5.1 with VMotion was a shared storage (whether indeed iSCSI, NFS, or SAN) - it is now possible to local storage on a host vmotion to another storage room hosts - http://www.vmware.com/products/datacenter-virtualization/vsphere/vmotion.html

    Instructions

You can store your VM alternately on a local storage as well with no problems.

  • Local HTML storage when the application is closed

    Hello

I would like to know if the local storage of a html page included in an application will be saved only when the application is closed, or the machine to stop.

Yet, I use Adobe Viewer v30 for the test on an iPad and local storage is lost when I left Adobe's Viewer.

    Thank you very much.

Yes, he does. Using localStorage.getItem () and localStorage.setItem (), Yes? We used recently for a game of treasure hunt in our publication to record what elements have been found in different articles of the folio. He worked in the LCA for us on the iPad, but also our custom application.

  • Cloud Versus Local file storage

I saw little specific discussion on the storage of files.  I know there are 2 GB free but I guess if I switch of the CS6 and LR4 to the CC, I can continue to store everything locally?

I guess if I switch of the CS6 and LR4 to the CC, I can continue to store everything locally?

    Yes, no different to normal.

Cloud software works as the Creative Suites. Software is installed locally, is running locally and the files are saved locally. Only the cloud license itself is cloud based.

Store files in the cloud as a member of Cloud is a free option.

  • Photos on the local disk storage

Photos is storage of photos on my MacBook Air even though I have iCloud. Taking up to 12 GB on the hard disk.  In preferences, I 'Use iCloud library' checked with 'optimize '.  Why should a space on my hard drive? Is there anyway for there no pointed out that memory?  I have a lot of room in my iCloud (143 GB) account for storage. I tried dragging and deposited in iCloud, but that did not work.

The fine print under Photos preferences settings optimize storage includes the words: "Original is also stored on the Mac if you have a storage space."

  • local data storage

I have a feature to remember me in my application, when the user selects... I want the next time he gets into the app to see his selected past remember me option.

I so want to store things locally in mobile, how is that possible?

If it's just options, you must use QSettings...

    http://developer.BlackBerry.com/native/reference/Cascades/qsettings.html

It is not recommended to use for application however, data instead, you must use SQL, XML, or JSON.

  • ESXi 3.5 local disk storage is not necessary?

    Hello world

just a quick question to confirm my suspitions.

We have 2 servers ESXi HP integrated with 4 250 GB raid 5 SAS disks each. We also have a San with all virtual machines on the san.

IM I correct to assume that drives the on ESXi servers are not necessary and can be removed?

    Peter

    Hello

If you have the AP enabled in your Cluster, then you must enable userworld SWAP and this

can be placed on eighter SAN or local disk. In order to check this part first.

  • What is the best way to learn more about the storage of photos on my mac

I have a few thousand pictures on my old Macbook Air in 2 years.  Also, I share my computer with my husband, so are some of his photos on it.  How I learned to organize the subsequent use?

You will need to develop - there is no possible response to your current question and generally organizing Photos is purely personal - there is no way to 'best' - but most users agree that the use of pictures to organize is very powerful

What exactly are you looking for?

  • Better route to abandon more Essentials to vSphere Standard?

I currently have three licenses for the kit of Essentials more than 5.5 vSphere

To add storage vMotion, I'll have to move to vSphere Standard.

I understand that the vCenter Server of the essential kit differs from vCenter Server Standard, so in order to pass all my existing to vSphere Standard environment, I'll have to buy vCenter Server Standard and 18 processors for vSphere Standard licenses.

Is there a way to upgrade for the transition to vCenter Server Standard or are customers essentially forced to start from scratch?

If there is a way to upgrade, price different from zero?

There was a post in early February on the displacement of most of the standard, but in this particular case, the organization already had vCenter Server Standard, so all that was needed was the CPU licenses.

    > The essential kit more allows you to use vMotion, but not Storage vMotion, so I can move my vm between hosts to you, but cannot move them between data warehouses.

Yes and no. The Essentials most Kit includes no storage vMotion, but you can use "Change of host and data store" live migrate VM to other data warehouses. This is possible since vSphere 5.1 (see vMotion bug corrected in vCenter server 5.1.0a)

  • Simultaneous storage vmotion?

Given that Vsphere 4.1 improves on the question of Scsi reservation by now at the block level (I think anyway), it is relatively safe to do more than 1 storage vmotion? I know that in esx 3.5, we met a few huge problems once while doing 4 at a time, since then, we just do one at a time.

    Thank you!

    I regularly use 3 both over 1 GB/s.
