Move photos to a folder under

I use Lightroom 5 and needing help to move the photos to a folder of void. Here is where I am running into a problem:

  • My photos are in a folder named "to the file.
  • Inside the 'applicant', I create a folder named "2013-05"
  • I selects some photos of the "file" and click and drag them in "2013-05"
  • They appear in "2013-05" as expected
  • The problem is that they always appear in the folder parent "in the file".

My question is, once I have move photos from one folder under How can I prevent them to appear in the parent folder?

The files Panel, sign, uncheck show in subfolders.

I use Windows XP - perfectly up-to-date.  Whenever I have move photos from one folder to another file, the picture is no longer available and cannot be removed with using unlocker.  This has happened for several years.  I copy pictures and new folders whenever I want to move them, but sometimes I forget and move them and then I lose the picture I'm trying.  I also noticed that there is a strange file that opens in the trash that won't let me remove it without using unlocker. These files start with "Dd" followed be a number.  When I delete these use unlocker, another will appear the a different number on this subject.  It is a very maddening problem.  It is not possible for me to do a system restore because it lasts for quite awhile.  Please help - I'm tired of losing pictures that I can't replace.  Thank you for your help.

Images or any other type of files, there are many easy ways to do
This. And here's one: click on the file and press Ctr + C (copy). Then go to
the folder that you want and press Ctrl + V (paste).

  • Move photos from one folder to another?

I try to orgnize photos but cannot see how to move a photo from a folder to a different existing folder or a newly created folder. XP showed the list of existing folders and I could easily just drag photos in the selected folder. I appreciate any suggestions.

Maybe missing just the navigation pane and the function "auto expand" as in Win XP.

Click on organize-> select "folder and search options" and got to the general tab. It could be two boxes "show all files" and "automatic indicator of current folder" (or the same name - is not Win 7 us). Just check the two options. Eventually your navigation pane should display the entire folders to the current folder tree. Gruss/greetings G. Born - Articles: http://blog.borncity.com

  • Cannot move photos from one folder to another folder in Lightroom 6

I just upgraded to Lightroom 6. I lost the ability to drag and drop the images in different folders in Lightroom. I click on the photo, move it to the folder (a white + sign in a green circle appears), but there is no movement and I can not drag and drop them to the folders on the left side of Lightroom.

I've seen this question before but no solution has been offered outside of "make sure you are clicking on the image and not the surrounding area." I have done this, restarted Lightroom, restarted my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom and spent a lot of time in searching the Internet to solve the problem without success.

I can create folders in Lightroom, but also these folders cannot be moved. I can only remove them.

I will continue to look for a solution, but this prevents my workflow so much that I don't think I can work with Lightroom.

    I'm running OS X on an iMac 27 "10.8.5

    Help, please...

Try to delete your preferences file

Preferences and other locations of the file file | Lightroom CC and 6

Also, check the permissions on the affected files, make sure you have WRITE permission on the two files.

  • Move Photos to another folder in the same catalog

Can someone tell me how to move the few photos that I processed in Lightroom 3 from one folder to another without losing the changes I already did?

You can simply drag and drop them in another folder in the same catalog, and do you it from within Lightroom.  Lightroom will remember the changes that you already have.

  • Cannot move photos from one folder to another, because there is already a file with the same name

I store all of my photos on an external hard drive (I have save sometimes).
On this record, there are a bucket, with all the pictures.
But in this bucket, there are several small buckets.

I want pictures of these small buckets for the largest bucket.
I understand that they are "already there"- but I just want to have all in one place.
I need is these small buckets, because they do not really use more.

I'm able to drag + drop some of the photos in the larger bucket, but not all of them.
When I transferred a small group of pictures, I get a popup box telling me that some of my photos cannot be transferred.
This is because a file already exists in the destination with this name.
But the file name is actually for a different photo.

I understand WHY Lightroom protects me against this problem.
But I can't find a way to move these images and rename them at the same time.

I managed to move a SINGLE photo at a time and "keep two copies" option.
But then LR renames the file 'IRK_1234.copy. NAVE"or something like that.
I don't want that. I would like to rename it to something like "IRK_1234 - x.NEF", where the hyphen-x is the next available number.

Is there an elegant way to do it?
    What Miss me?

I use LR - CC, on a MacBook Pro on OSX El Capitan 10.11.2

Just rename the file in Lightroom BEFORE you try to move it!

  • How to transfer several photos from one folder to another

I want to delete a number of photos in my folder and then transfer some blocks of them to other folders to better organize. I know how to remove one at a time, but I don't know how to highlight a bunch of them for moving.  They are coming up with numbers, like 079, 080, 081 etc but not on a list where I can highlight.  I also want to do the same with several short videos I have.  By the way, I have transferred all this media from my iphone / ipad and everything came automatically - that is why I need now to separate and organize especially if I want to send copies to parents and friends.

You can select multiple by holding your CTRL key while left
by clicking on the thumbs or file names.

You can also select groups of photos by selecting one...
While holding down your shift key and select another further
fixing the list. All photos between the two selected will be
    chosen too.

Move photos from one folder to another.

With the thumbnail selected... type... CTRL + x. sa is the
keyboard shortcut for "cut". Selected thumbnails are
    bland and appear grey.

Open the folder that you want to move the photos to, and then type...
CTRL + V. sa is the keyboard shortcut for paste.

  • Impossible to move photos between folders

I upgraded from LR 3 LR4 on Win 7 64 bit.  I am more able to move photos from one folder to another folder on LR.  I'd appreciate any help.

Are you sure you put your cursor over the center of the image?  If you put it on the border, it selects an image instead of allowing you to move the selected images (Yes, stupid, I know, but this led crazy me until I figured it).

  • How to organize or move my photos to a folder?

I have a large photo collection who want to re-ararnge and to classify under Windows 7 but I can't seem to do.

I start by selecting Display icon so I can see thousands of photos in a folder now I scroll down looking for pictures of holidays and when I find them I try to click on it and drag it next to all the other photos that are part of the same game, but the option drag will not work as it used to Vista , or xp. So I have to now hold the 'ctrl' key while clicking on the photographs that have their place in the game and then when Im done I need to create a new folder and I throw everything in there to better categorize, but now it gets harder... Now I want to rename according to the place and the day of the trip they have taken on... so I find a photo taken the day 3 and another that was taken the day 5 and I take an aken day 3 and I try and place it next to the left of that day 5 so I can possibly classify all falling on them one by one but again it won't let me put my dam in dam square picture I want.

That's all just stupid, why can I no longer to fix it my collection the way I want to? The view option or autoarrange does not know where my photos have been taken to, or that you belong sin that, only I know, I so need to be the one to organize and manually move the way I need to. I'm overlooking something, at - it a touch to reactivate this option, microsoft probably couldn't be stupid enough to delete such an important feature of Windows 7, I hope.

Send your comments here: https://connect.microsoft.com/WindowsServerFeedback/feedback/details/741495/biggest-explorer-annoyance-automatic-sorting-windows-7-server-2008-r2-and-vista#details to restore Auto arrange and automatic sorting for Windows 8 so they can eventually be disabled.
